About CHD – Orange

30 East Main Street in Orange puts CHD inside a short drive of Athol, Petersham and the towns around them. Athol, Petersham, Millers Falls and Northfield all sit within 11 miles of the door. The facility falls within Franklin County for the purposes of state and county-funded treatment.

Services run to detox, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. CHD is federally registered and licensed by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Medication for opioid dependence is available here alongside talking treatment. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Remote appointments are offered, useful for anyone without transport. Trauma-specific treatment is available here.

CHD – Orange Detox and Rehab Services

CHD – Orange delivers detox, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The withdrawal stage is clinically observed, which is what makes it safer than stopping alone. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Waiting times vary, so it is worth asking at the first call.

Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask how the program handles someone who has been through treatment before. Whether medication is available is worth confirming at the outset.

Unfortunately I have to give this office one star. I went there for a therapy appointment, everything seemed to go really well, I felt like I got along with my therapist well - she told me she would text me to schedule… the next appointment, she did not. I made sure both her and the front office had both my number and my fiancé's cell number and that he was listed as someone they could speak with. We had planned on meeting again in two weeks time. A week and a half, no text. My fiancé called her cell number (which she had given me, presumably a work cell number), no response. He called the front desk, no answer. He left a voicemail on both her cell and at the front desk. No response. It's been several weeks now and we still have not received a response. Not sure what's going on there but the whole thing felt very unprofessional. Making a therapy appointment is often something someone does in a fragile state of mind, it's difficult. To reach out for someone to help and then to continually receive no response, I told my current meds NP about what happened and she said 'Wow, that's unethical.' I'll update this review when I find a good therapist in/near Orange but I'll leave with this, my care from CHCFC has been incredible, highly educated, helpful staff, all the way down to the front desk. If they had available therapists right now, that's who I'd go to.

Orange office has a terrible clinical supervisor, and I experienced discrimination from her and a therapist due to politics and bc I'm LGBTQ. Treated me unethically.

Dont see the Med Doctor because she will ignore your prescription refill and she wont send in your prior approval on time. She is the worst med doctor ever
