Brentwood Springs – Newburgh Detox and Rehab Services
Brentwood Springs – Newburgh is recorded as offering detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Brentwood Springs – Newburgh Reviews and Ratings
A licensing record says what Brentwood Springs is permitted to do. Reviews from patients and their families say what treatment in Newburgh was like, and those accounts are collected in this section.
This year in 2026 I was struggling more than ever and my girlfriend recommended this location/place. I voluntarily walked in about a week ago, received excellent care while there and checked myself out this past sunday… the 7th day of September. I believe after leaving I checked out too soon so I made the 1hr and 45min drive requesting further help, they gave me a list of recommended places closer and pretty well kicked me out. Talk about making me feel even further down as though im not good enough to help. My mental health crisis isnt a joke but I guess they got a good laugh.
Update for context: This experience occurred in May 2026, before the ownership and leadership changes at Brentwood Springs. I can’t speak to how the facility operates now, so this review reflects only our family’s… experience at that time. I’m sharing this as a concerned family member. My intention is not simply to criticize, but to speak honestly about what our family experienced in the hope that another person or family facing a similar situation does not have the same experience. Our experience with Brentwood Springs Newburgh was disappointing and stressful, particularly around communication, discharge planning, continuity of care, and documentation. During an 11-day stay, our family needed clear and timely communication so we could understand what was happening, what the plan was, and how we could appropriately support our loved one after discharge. In our experience, that communication was not always clear or consistent. We also experienced confusion around authorization and records, including uncertainty about what information could be shared and how family involvement was being handled. We later reviewed documentation that did not fully align with our family’s understanding of what had occurred or what had been communicated to us. I can’t speak to why those differences existed, but they added to our concerns and made an already difficult situation harder to understand. My biggest concern was discharge. After 11 days in the facility, our loved one was discharged while our family still had significant concerns about what came next. From our perspective, there was not enough clarity around the transition, ongoing support, or how the situation was expected to be managed once care at the facility ended. Someone who enters behavioral health treatment in crisis should not leave with the people supporting them still trying to piece together what happens next. Discharge should be more than a date on the calendar. It should include clear communication, a realistic plan, and appropriate continuity of care. No person or family navigating a behavioral health crisis should be left feeling more confused, unsupported, or uncertain about what comes next. Families are not expecting perfection. We are expecting clear communication, thoughtful discharge planning, documentation that reflects what occurred, and appropriate follow-up. Those are reasonable expectations when someone is receiving behavioral health care. I hope the current leadership reviews feedback like this and uses it to strengthen how patients and the people supporting them are cared for during and after treatment.
So many members of staff don't treat you as if you are an actual human being. There are nurses who sit at their computers all day and won't even look at you if you try to talk to them. There is simply no way that the… psychiatrist Dr. Howze (however you spell her name) actually has an advanced degree. I've never encountered a less helpful, less understanding, more frustrating 'mental health professional' in my life. This woman, after having spoken with me for less than 5 minutes total, looked me in the eye and told me that I was paranoid. She knew nothing about me, but she knew that I was paranoid. I feel like she's someone who might be incapable of empathy, or perhaps just incapable of introspection and critical thought. If I hated someone and wanted to punish them, I'd consider sending them to Brentwood Springs for inpatient treatment. I wouldn't do it, because I'm not a psychopath, but the thought would cross my mind. They are all true believers who think that the only way to get help is to have those little 'group therapy' sessions. Those sessions consisted of being given a printout, having a therapist read the printout to you for half an hour, and then being sent on your way. Sometimes we got to paint! So therapeutic. I heard multiple staff members talk to adult patients, often patients who were older than the staff members in question, as if they were children. They were so patronizing. This place seems to be nothing more than some kind of insurance scam. They believe their program works, but I met multiple patients who have been through their program dozens of times. Each day has scheduled activities. I kept track, and in an average day, about half of the group therapy sessions simply didn't happen. This left everyone with hours upon hours to sit around, watch TV, do crossword puzzles, paint pretty pictures, etc. Most importantly, this left the patients with hours upon hours to ruminate. Due to opportunity cost, they lost several hours each day that they could have otherwise been using to actually get some kind of help. If you hate, and I mean truly HATE, someone, and if you are truly set on punishing them, then by all means, send that person to Brentwood Springs. I can't imagine another scenario in which I'd be okay with recommending this place to anyone.
Terrible communication with family, the includes taking days to call back. They do not listen to family, and instead of actually caring about what you say, they are quick to discharge. Some of the staff answers the… phone with the worst attitude. When you question things that were explained they are always different. If you or someone else is seeking help, please go somewhere else. This place is not worth the headache they are going to give you.
Terrible tippers don’t bother delivering the employees.
I’ve been here before with my human! This He’s taking care of his mental health after getting dealt a really bad hand in life. Life hasn’t been kind to him lately, and it shows in the weight he carries every day. Coming… back to Brentwood Springs feels like returning to a place that actually gets it. The staff here is compassionate and professional. They create a safe, structured environment where my human can focus on healing. The inpatient and outpatient options give real flexibility, and the therapy groups, medication management, and recreational activities seem to help him start processing things he’s been holding onto for too long. He is involved in the Hope4Hero’s program which helps with Active, Veterans and first responders. This program has been so helpful for him. It’s not easy watching someone you love struggle, but seeing him get the support he needs here brings me some peace. The facility is clean and calm, which makes a big difference when emotions are running high. I appreciate how they treat the whole person—not just the symptoms—and include family/ support system education too. It reminds me that he’s not alone in this, even on the toughest days. If you or someone you care about is facing serious mental health challenges or co-occurring issues, Brentwood Springs is a place worth considering. They’ve helped us and I’m hopeful they’ll help my human find some stability and strength now. Thank you to the team at Brentwood Springs for the care you provide. There really is hope and help here. — Skye (Supportive companion to a human working hard on his mental health)
Go to Recovery Village Indianapolis. You get no time with a counselor or therapist - you have to ask. So many staff coming and going, but very little care.
I was in Brentwood over year ago. I was treated like I was incompetent and stupid by Noah. He mocked me in front of other patients, and implied that I was lying about my trauma. I was not. Thats a dangerous place to be… when you're walking through the valley of death. The techs are great though.
A year ago this week, I was sent to Brentwood Springs after being taken to St. Vincent ER. I went to the hospital because I was being abused and needed help and safety. I am not a minor, but staff called my parents… without my permission. That alone made me feel unsafe and powerless at a time when I needed confidentiality and support. They had my mom’s number on file from when I was a minor. I was then sent to Brentwood Springs After that, it felt like they decided I was “in psychosis” and that I was imagining what was happening to me. Instead of listening and taking my concerns seriously, I felt dismissed and labeled. I tried to talk to therapists and explain what was going on, but I repeatedly felt like no one would actually hear me because they didn’t believe me. Instead of helping me, they played mind games to try and get me to admit that I was lying. This experience was traumatizing and isolating. When someone comes in asking for help—especially for abuse—they need to be listened to, supported, and treated with dignity. That was not my experience here, and I would not recommend this facility based on how I was handled.
Sometimes I struggle with my addiction when I do I know that going to Brentwood is the best place for me The staff is awesome there's never any kind of wait time it's exactly what I need when I slip up
Giving 3 stars because the rampant abuse at the other places is not as commonplace here but it still, like most mental healthcare hospitals, is focused on the money and getting as much from you as they can instead of… getting you help. They squeezed as much out of my insurance as they could and I know I never really got any help there. If anything, it kept me from healing. The staff openly gossip about other patients well within earshot of patients and will openly verbally reprimand trans people for their trauma regarding their lived experiences, telling them to be grateful for what they do have. They actively impede the healing process so that they get you back through those doors months down the line. Tena is the worst offender on that front and Denise is not much better. They fire people who genuinely try to help the patients and keep people who are just mean enough to keep them from healing but not mean enough to get them to kill themselves. I was groped by a nurse on my genitals and breasts and they refused to fill out an incident report on me. They said that because the nurse was a straight female there was no way she did it. Well, she did. The other places are worse but that does not mean this one is any good. (Edit: I've already told you the problems you have. You have ignored them at every turn. You've been told multiple times from numerous people that these are issues. Fix them or stop pretending to care. We all know you don't care. This thing you do where you respond as if you care publicly but then make no needed changes is extremely see through and malicious. Fix your own problems.)
I’m giving one star because what I could see the place look clean and the lady was nice when I took my son some clothes. But that’s the only reason. I know there are laws in place to protect your patients and I… understand that not all ppl have the best intrest in said ppl. But when you have a person (me the mother) calling and the calling and begging for someone to call and at least say they are still in your care. You could at least call and say if they are or not. Apparently I knew he was there I brought him clothes what could it have hurt to let me know he had left your facility? You waisted two weeks I could have know he was still in a program or I needed to report him missing!
Over a year past service and they try to take advantage financially! They reduced the provider adjustment amount, on my invoice, they want another payment. So the statements need turned over to a attorney. They even… turned me over to collections for the amount my insurance covered. Not to mention the services were not good. They leave you with hardly any therapy and you get coloring pages and crosswords. Yes, the nurses whisper and talk about patients. It is very demeaning. The previous reviews are true. They do not keep in touch, as they say they will after discharge. But the billing department will keep in touch!
I have been told good things about Brentwood this is the reason ai called for help. However, I am very disappointed in what they say is the process of a call back. Chatted last Monday 8/18 with an online person took all… my info. She was to refer all the info for the next person who would call me back within 72 hours. Today is Sunday 8/24 still no call back. So I place another call on Friday 8/22 put in all my info online it says someone will call me within 24 hours. It is once again Sunday 8/24 no response. I am in need of adolescent help and intense therapy they say they offer. Very disappointing.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went here willingly and I was admitted into inpatient in May 2023 for addiction issues. They will do everything in their power to keep you in there longer than you need to be to milk your insurance… dry. This place was the WORST! No one ever listens to you, you constantly have to repeat yourself and your story to the same people over and over. The food is AWFUL! I went multiple days without eating because the food was that bad! The food did not have any flavor and was mushy. If you decide that you want to leave, you have to sign a paper and they have 24 hours to give you an answer which they will wait until the last minute to give to you. If you sign the paper, you cannot go to anything. You cannot go to therapy, cannot go outside to smoke or do any activities, you can’t go to the cafeteria, it’s just absolutely insane. I told the doctors repeatedly that I was ready to go home and they just ignored me and made me stay longer than I needed to. The staff constantly talk about the patients and make fun of them. They break HIPPA constantly as well. The staff will become close to some patients and trash talk other patients with them. So unprofessional! They also put you on so many medications that are so unnecessary just to charge your insurance more. The only thing good about this place was a nurse named Judy (I think that was her name), she was absolutely amazing and did everything in her power to make me feel comfortable and not in pain. Darrel was absolutely amazing too, he was the best as well as an African American woman which I forgot what her name was. Don’t even get me started on their outpatient services. They put me in PHP which I think was 4-5 days a week for 6 to 8 hours. It was a complete waste of time. I got sick after the first week of the outpatient program and I had to miss 2 days because I was throwing up constantly. I called each day and told them I was sick. I felt better after 2 days and I went there to go to class. I went up to the counter and they said my name was not on the list to check in. The group leader came out and said I was kicked out of the program for missing those 2 days. I told her I was sick and also said I called each day to tell them, it wasn’t like I did a no call, no show. Still, they kicked me out and I never got any help after that. Thank God I was strong enough to stay sober, no thanks to them. This place is the absolute worst and only cares about the money. Other than that, this place was a living hell. I will never go back. Weeks after my visit was over, they sent me this bill that said if I paid a 1500 dollars by a certain date, then they wouldn’t make me pay the other $700. I paid the amount and thought that would be the last of the bill. NOPE!!! THEN, a few weeks later, they sent me another bill that said I had to pay $700 which is the exact same amount as the discount that they said I didn’t have to pay if I paid the $1500 by a certain date. I ended up having to pay the $700 which I should not have had to do because they were going to send it to collections. I called and called and was repeatedly told that they would fix the bill so that I didn’t have to pay the $700 since I had already paid the $1500 by the date they said in order to get the discount. However, they never fixed it and I had to pay the $700 or they would send it to collections even though I was told I didn’t have to pay it by many of the employees in the financial department. Please do NOT go here and do NOT send your loved ones here!
i have a family member who was recently admitted to this facility for mental health related issues, she was there for around 30 hours when she began having high blood pressure, so she was send to a near by hospital… while till in there care where she was cleared of her blood pressure issue but Brentwood just left her there while she was still in there care she was still in the middle of a mental break they left her without her phone or other belonging in a stat where she had just few day eerier forget every number in her head, we had to pick her up from said hospital and go to Brentwood the next day, where we went to pick up her stuff the person of the front desk was rude and when we explained what happened she smirked and laughed at my sister now we have to attempt to talk my family member to going back in because she is still in a stat where she is a danger to herself and those around her tldr: Brentwood mishandled a women in the middle of a metal break left her in a place without her belongings then smirked when we went to retrieve said stuff

Hospital is amazing! They took great care of me and brought me back to being healthy. They made my wishes come true! I recommend this hospital to those who are struggling in life! Update: there were volunteers that were… hired that were abusive towards me, I would get aggressive back. I think that there should be measures to protect future patients as well as when I stay there next time. I just want to bring this up so that future visits can be as good as the previous ones.
Amazing new CEO. Lots of amazing things happening
My fiancee went and got the help he needed (we are grateful for this). He didn’t have insurance so we were self pay. They told 3 of us it would be $5,900 up front for him to receive services. We were running around with… our heads cut off just to get this money for him to start. Lucky we were able to. Went and paid and they said it was a done deal. We received a bill in the mail weeks later for the psychiatrist bill, which they then explained they aren’t really affiliated with Brentwood and that’s their own payment, ok fine. Now we just received a bill in the mail 2 weeks of him finished with services that they “adjusted” the bill and made it even more than what we all agreed upon!!!!!! Now we owe $1,050 more with no explanation and tried calling to speak with someone but it says there’s no financial person?? Highly upset.
My husband was admitted there for a little over a week. Staff never return calls or gave updates to my husband’s condition. I’m happy it sounds like he got to talk to a psychiatrist most days but only saw a therapist… once. It’s a fairly nice facility, the staff including the doctor who admitted him needs to care more, it could save a life. There was a cord in his bag upon admission and when we said “that’s not supposed to be in there, we can throw it away or I can take it home” the admitting doctor said “eh, it’ll be fine. I’ll just put it with your things locked up under your bed” Considering his condition, this was extremely alarming and there was nothing I could do about it. I spoke up, he spoke up, and no one addressed the simple problem that could have caused much harm. No place is perfect, it’s a busy much needed place. But for safety.. inform the persons caregivers at home so we can prepare a safe environment as much as possible and take the 10 seconds it would have taken to prevent severe harm that could have happened. There are bag inspections for a reason.
Dears I write to you from a place of hope and vulnerability, with my heart filled with gratitude for the work you do and the intention to share a perspective that might contribute to strengthening the positive impact of… your efforts. My recent experience in your institution left me with many reflections, and I wish to share them with the sincere hope that they can help improve the journey for others who, like me, arrive seeking relief amidst their pain. Acknowledging that I needed help was an internal battle that took great courage to overcome. I came to you with faith, trusting that I would find not only medical treatment but also a space of understanding and humanity. However, at times, I felt caught in a system that seemed to prioritize paperwork and protocols over truly understanding the human being behind each case. What I experienced and learned: From the moment of admission, I felt as though my story, told repeatedly, was lost in endless paperwork. Instead of feeling relieved, the constant repetition made me feel invisible. There were comments that, while likely unintentional, were deeply hurtful: being labeled as “hyperverbal” without an effort to understand me, criticism of my accent, or the lack of a space where I could share my vision for healing without judgment. One moment that particularly stayed with me was when a therapist dismissed my dream of helping others overcome addiction through self-love and spirituality. Her comment that it was “nearly impossible” made me momentarily doubt my purpose. But if humanity had stopped dreaming of the seemingly impossible, we wouldn’t have many of the wonders we take for granted today. Despite everything, I understood something important: it’s not a lack of intention or capability that creates difficulties—it’s disconnection. I’m confident that each of you entered this profession with the desire to heal and support, but the weight of the system can sometimes dim that inner fire. My invitation, with love: I invite you to reflect on the importance of reconnecting with the human purpose behind each interaction: 1. Listen with the heart: A patient doesn’t only need solutions; they need to feel their pain matters, that their story is acknowledged. 2. Empathy in processes: Simplifying procedures and personalizing care can make a world of difference in moments of extreme vulnerability. 3. Emotional training: Investing in tools that strengthen empathy and compassion within your staff. Science and spirituality aren’t opposites; together, they can heal more deeply. 4. Support dreams: When a patient shares their vision for the future, even if it seems far-fetched, supporting it can become the spark they need to begin transforming their life. In the midst of my most difficult days, what I longed for most wasn’t just medical treatment—it was a gesture, a kind word, a look that reminded me I am more than my diagnosis, that my life matters. I know each of you has the power to offer that spark of hope, even on the busiest days and within the most rigid systems. Despite the challenges, I still believe in the goodness and potential of this place. My faith in you remains intact because I know that within each person working here is a heart willing to make a difference. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read these words and for the work you do, often under pressures that go unseen. I am open to collaborating or discussing how we can build a more humane space where every patient feels not just treated but truly understood. With gratitude and hope, Hussein Yasell
Pictures are not accurate at all. No exercise equipment at all. Snacks suck. Same thing everyday: its goldfish string cheese, crackers, peanut butter, and no drink offered. For the menus. They are never accurate. No… desserts or condiments
I was there this year a couple of times I thought at first I was getting help I needed It was up until the end of my stay when I informed them i was homeless at which point felt like they didn't care and was just trying… to kick me out and get rid of me then instead of helping find a safe place to go they suggested I go to a rehab facility for drug abuse when I don't have a issue with drugs to have somewhere to go
I went there almost a year ago and to this day the group therapist I had Marc had a great impact on my life. I was able to come out of comfort zone a little more with the group and he made us all feel safe I wish I… could tell him thank you. And the Lady at the front counter Aaliyah I think that’s how you spell it I always loved talking to her before the groups. The staff members are so caring it’s amazing!
