Cool place nice people, I don't see where all hate is coming from but I for 1 want this place to get booming with succes

I think at first, I was getting something positive out of it but once I realized my therapy sessions were associated with Alcoholics Anonymous beliefs, I started feeling worse every time I visited. I am not powerless… over alcohol and I don't need AA to stay sober. Many Alcoholics Anonymous values aren't exclusively AA values. Those same values can be found and nurtured in other organized fellowships like church for example. I suffered from narcissistic and physical abuse as a child, far before I ever had my first taste of alcohol. Alcoholics Anonymous members, including the sponsor I had often asked me: "whats my part in it?" As if I was responsible for my fathers abuse towards me and my mother. My part in it was getting away from him and never looking back. I don't particularly like group therapy. Why? Because there's only 1 licensed therapist in this setup and a bunch of other patients who think it's their place to tell me whats best for me. Last time I checked, they were patients just like me too and with different experiences. But if I'm being honest, even the therapist didn't seem to understand me. Everything is always blamed on the bottle or the drug even if the bottle or drug didn't come into the picture until much later in life. I struggle with low self esteem, so to be told that I had an ego problem made me feel quite misunderstood. To be told that I had to humble myself when I was overly humiliated by my father for years simply for existing, it felt like this program was pouring acid on an open wound. No, I need strength and courage, NOT humility, I'm already a master of that. I bit my tongue while in this program, because i knew that if i had shared my truth, I'd be invalidated and ridiculed by the group. Why? Because they're invested in this program. And like with any investment, those who are invested in it, will defend their investment. For someone to walk away or say that the investment isn't worth the cost, naturally attacks those who did invest. It causes them to question their choice and people find those questions uncomfortable. My self-esteem was further damaged each time I visited this place and I just could not relate to anyone in this program. Their rock bottom was during their drug use and alcoholism, my rock bottom was during my youth. It is not difficult for me to make amendments or apologize to anyone. I got REAL good at that as a child because that's all i ever did back home. I was made to feel small for years before i ever drank. When i step out of line, I own up to it quickly. I need 1-on-1 therapy for Narcissistic Abuse, NOT substance abuse. Once i was done with Detox, I should've gotten treatment for my childhood trauma, NOT for alcoholism. People heal from alcoholism without AA all the time. The statistics of AA's success is cloudy. Anyone can walk into any AA meeting and claim they've been sober for however long they claim to be with no proof needed. I started drinking heavily at 23. I'm 28 now. I think I'll be okay without AA and the Calvary. I don't need a sponsor. My absence is enough proof for AA to claim that I'm out there "running and gunning" so by their logic, because i cant see these patients anymore, they must be out there "running and gunning" too. My absence from glorified coffee parties is enough proof for AA that I'm getting hammered right now. I only need one Big Book and it isn't blue. The Big Book I read and follow is Divinely inspired and has greater success. I think I'll follow Jesus and not some guy named Bill. Good riddance!

Website states, don't let finances get in the way of your recovery. Was then told that I needed almost $2500 up front. It's kinda like finances got in the way of my recovery. I'm gunna go die now.
