The site is at 1720 Beacon Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46805. The city lies within Allen County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Parkview Behavioral Health – Fort Wayne Reviews and Ratings
Accreditation and licensing tell part of the story at Parkview Behavioral Health. Reviews from patients and their loved ones tell another part, and the two are shown on this page so they can be read together.
Waited for 5 hours for you people to come to the Randalia building while on suicide watch. Nobody even noticed me leaving the building. You people suck.
Was going to see my cousin Zane Ardelean I’m his cousin but anywho I wanted to say better than Illinois hospitals
I just wanted to thank the staff here for their kindness, help and support with my daughter. You are very much appreciated.
they don't help at all.
Not wheelchair accessible in all areas, did not care about sexual assault on campus. Kept me in dirty clothes for over a week even when asked for clean replacements, delayed care, just watched me seize, told me using… coping mechanisms don't matter, had me walk on a broken toe, told me to stay in my room because the wheelchair they provided for the broken toe I suffered on campus was too big for the hallway, blocked my escape from my assailant, chose to omit information from the judge and paperwork, chose to delay treatment for my broken toe when treatment was available, did not allow me to be medicated before being assessed, was not given free access to my plan, the doctor that signed the order to the judge couldn't even explain to me what the statement said, could not freely communicate with social workers, and the psychiatrists continually stated that using coping mechanisms to calm oneself down not matter. They consistently told me just having a thought was all that mattered, and that successfully preventing myself from acting on the thought using approved coping mechanisms does not matter they also waited for hours to administer an ekg after I reported chest pain. One nurse in particular took me being sensually assaulted so casually that he literally and not figuratively, rolled his eyes when, I reported it.
The staff, therapist and doctors at Park Center by Parkview Health are wonderful! Be sure to check out the many group meetings offered. Parkview is a godsend after the disaster of Bowen Health.
Some of the nurse and tech staff were very rude and disrespectful during my time there and they made me have a dangerous roommate one of the techs named Braiden thinks that issues with the patients are a joke and funny… he needs to be dealt with or replaced
Refused to speak with my advocate, would not keep social services notified, refused to keep my right to be informed, and omitted critical information from my file, as well as refusing to let me talk during the process.… Absolute refusal to verify accuracy, or even obtain the entirety of my mental state, and even the patient's rights advocate was shaking when he admitted information was left out. He came to me visibly shaking after I named the issues. They were so bad that he was shaking out of fear when I named the violations.
This place is the biggest joke please do yourself a favor and pay attention to the reviews my son has been in here in numerous times since 2013 he has severe mental illness and I can promise you they have never ever… ever ever helped him not once do yourself a favor and do not put your family member through this. They left him in sheets for 3 days with spaghetti all over it to top it all off the man that swears up and down that my son was handed his envelope with cash of $65 and his identification but my son never received that it was taken from him at Pbh!! I hope the person that took it the man I spoke with on the phone I hope you can live with yourself everyday from taking for mentally ill people
I am prefacing this review with my love for every other aspect of Parkview. I will only go to Parkview for any other health issues, and prefer providers with Parkview. They literally saved my life after a freak car… wreck. However. When I was 13, I was inpatient for depression and suicidal ideation. As a first ever medication, they gave me Zyprexa, a heavy antipsychotic, before they even knew all of the side effects. I ended up having one before they knew it was a side effect, and had a lymph node by my ear surgically removed because nobody even knew that it was from that medication. Last week, I saw a psych with them to continue my Vyvanse prescription. Instead of doing that, this psych, Dorothy Burke, spent my entire visit challenging and invalidating a diagnosis by a legal, nonbiased neurology specialist that works specifically with.post-TBI cases like mine. She literally told me that I could not have ADHD because I did too well in school. That view was dropped by all adequate healthcare professionals like, at least ten years ago. Oh my GOD. She told me to STOP my Vyvanse, which I have been on for iver 6 months and it has done nothing but improve my life. I sleep better. I get more accomplished in my day. But because I excelled academically, because we moved a lot and I hyperfixated on a constant, I couldnt possibly have ADHD. Ignoring the fact that both of my older siblings have been diagnosed and almost every single cousin of mine has been diagnosed. This facility is a joke.
Staff are great and the food is good. Everyone was really kind and supportive.
They suck. They kicked me out of their inpatient service while I was in the middle of a psychotic episode because I was unable to get out of bed. What kind of medical care is that? I wasn't even seen by physician since… I came in over the weekend. Yet they build Medicare for a full visit, which is Medicare fraud.
They stole me from my family for 7 months. Dr. Pravesh Restagi. I can't forget that name although I have learned to forgive him. We were just children, and he would take 15 seconds with each of us in his office, cutting… off a sentence after checking mandatory boxes to keep us there longer. 2,106 dollars a day is what they get to keep the rooms full. They don't let you out till there's more incoming with the right insurance. They'll help your parents fill out forms for free government insurance. That means you never leave. I cry about it still. I'm 39 now, was 14 then. Spent Christmas and my birthday in there.
I came from maple heights had a 14 day hold on me finished it here. I am pregnant so I get a little more experience in some areas. First they are more of a open and relaxed environment. They had real beds. You don't… really have a bed time but the tv and lights go off at 10. Phone use is pretty open unless your in group they make it a choice for group they clearly told everyone they didn't have to go which I never went once I got out pretty fast too. Food was amazing they pretty much have a lot of opinions. You can get snacks whenever and their are opinions to have soda with breakfast lunch and dinner.
Many people give this place negative reviews but that's only because they're struggling with their own personal mental problems. I have been here twice and both times I was treated with love and compassion. Many of the… nurses there are very kind and caring and I even made friends amongst the other patients. Please don't let your own personal struggles allow you to judge this place too harshly. I don't know where I would be without PBH.
They got bed bugs in that place. Mold in the walls. A bunch of gnats and mold living in the shower. There's dirt and hair all over the floor. The dirtiest place. Completely inhumane and disgusting. Go somewhere else… unless you want to bring bed bugs and lice home. You won't get better here.
Was a detox patient here and offered no medicine to help with withdrawal definitely don’t recommend
Will not allow me to rate it at zero stars. After my daughters attempt on her life they would not fill me in with any medications or anything they were giving her, and all they did was swap to an earlier medication she… had when she was 7 she is 13, no modifications due to weight or height. The only phone call I was given was to set up family therapy over the phone. During this time, the pseudo Therapist informed me she was being released today, no update to a safely plan or what the thought it would be. This place is a joke. Again you really want your kids to kill themselves send them here, they will help them with it. Will be following up with a lawsuit.
Went here a couple months ago. Food was great. Staff helped when I need medicine. Were always willing to listen to me when I needed someone to talk to. Only downside it's kinda boring . Beds were comfy tho
This is what happened after PBH and Maple Heights refused to admit my actively PSYCHOTIC and agitated teenage son. He punched me repeatedly, threw coffee at me, knocked my glasses off my face, busted my glass cabinet,… broke my potted plants and threw our microwave at my windshield. There's no point in trying to get help. We've been turned away time and time again. I may die by his hands and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
I recenyly completed a stay here. It was a small but okay unit, adult side. There wasn't much as far as groups, meal times didn't offer many gluten free and dairy free solutions, but there was an effort. I didn't get… what I needed to feel better but I met cool people and got an escape from my life. Thank you to Justin and KJ for being a part of my recovery :)
Had taken my son to get some much needed help, and was told that they recommended out patient for a teen that has and emotional disorder. He’s been battling most of his life with his emotions and when I do reach out for… help it’s NOT the help I was looking for. They don’t care about anyone just a damn number I’m yhey eyes.
To put how horrible my experience truly was with Parkview would take forever. Crippling debt for absolutely no help, and only left with anhedonia from bad anti-psychotics that were tested on me like some guinea pig. I… have only now managed to get some of my humanity back after years of psychological torment from being left in the dust. Go elsewhere.
Please never go here for help. I went here at the lowest and most lonely point of my life and I was victim blamed in group therapy on my first day there. They don't actually even care about getting you on the right meds… or helping you learn to heal and progress in life they just want you in an endless loop coming back getting released and coming back
was a patient there around July 2024, and I had a good but also horrible experience. The staff were so rude. I was bullied for the way I tried to commit suicide, and while I was admitted, some kid got lice and they… wouldn’t let him leave after his discharge date. I think the only good things about it were the food and the girls and boys who actually understood me.
I went here when I was 14-16. About 4 times. The last time I went, I was tossing a ball around with a 'friend' and it shattered my finger. Like the ball hit my finger straight on. I told staff I thought it was broken,… they didn't care. I had to wait 3 days, till they finally took me to the hospital for x-rays. They only took me bc my parents came and I showed them the discoloration. When I got the x-rays back, once I was back at PBH the staff showed me my x-rays in front of all the other patients! No privacy! OH AND IT WAS BROKEN!! Also this place is like a prison!
We had our daughter admitted to PBH 2 weeks ago due to a mental health crisis and suffering from major depression. It was hands down the worst hospitalization experience we’ve ever witnessed. PBH is more like a 1950’s… mental ward than anything you’d expect from the largest hospital network in NE Indiana. Our daughter spent 6 days in the pediatric wing. We never met the attending psychiatrist, had one meeting with a therapist, and had repeat issues reaching our daughter by phone. Visitation times are very limited and none of our requests to meet directly with a doctor were ever approved. The psychiatrist put her on a new medication, which she had major adverse reactiond to, was immediately taken off of it, then put on another drug. We were contacted the next day by a nurse telling us we could come pick her up. No discharge meeting, no word from a doctor/psychiatrist…nothing. We are now at a MUCH better facility at U of M and getting the proper care she should have received in the first place. We’re stuck with a $4000 bill to Parkview for them doing literally nothing for our child. Parkview health network should be absolutely ASHAMED of this facility, its lack of funding, and lack of a proper medical team. DO NOT take your child to the facility unless it is an absolute LAST option for you.
I've been here 3 times and each stay was horrible every single staff member thought i was there for attention when clearly i wasn't because i had self harming all over me they would up my doses on medications every… single day when i tried talking to someone they didn't listen i do not recommending going there it will not help you the staff is rude and does not listen to you DO NOT GO HERE!!!
IOP needs better boundaries and rules for patients.
