Sandstone Care – Rockville Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Sandstone Care – Rockville providing detox, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

11820 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, Maryland, 20852 is the address held. This address falls in Montgomery County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. So far so good - 1st day and my daughter felt comfortable - Easy intake process 😊

Our daughter was manic and although Sandstone was helpful getting my daughter thru intake process she became hospitalized because of her mental state. After two weeks, Sandstone got her readmitted to their daily program… in Rockville. They knew her state but once we arrived it went downhill from there. Feeling unwelcomed on day one and even though my child was manic we got phone calls from day one that they really couldn't handle her. Mainly a conference room of kids sitting around in one room from 9am to 3pm. Please ask questions before signing your teen up it became an insurance grab in my opinion. My daughter got sent home after a week but still receiving bills. Mental health is tough, good luck parents!

Waste of money. I enrolled my granddaughter for mental health support and they focused so much on drugs. She was supposed to be engaged in school work, but did hardly any of it over 6 weeks. Not what I hoped for.

I used to love this program - it has gone so far downhill, I'm not sure I can call it a legitimate PHP program. HIPAA violations that weren't taken seriously. Little to no group engagement. Half or more of the group was… always asleep, physically absent, or on their phones. I brought up my concerns - the therapists agreed but recommended I just find a new program rather than make changes. We rarely did any actual emotional processing in group. Would not recommend to anyone who is serious about improving their mental health.

Parents, do your research. We hired a consultant who recommended this place. This was the worst choice we could have made for our 14 year old daughter. She was sent there under the "dual diagnosis" and did not get… proper help or counseling. She was placed in a dingy room in front of a computer under the guise of "School." The kids posted videos of themselves or sent videos to other friends (Hippa Violation). Do your family a favor and do a ton of research before you damage your kid emotionally for the rest of their lives. My daughter is now 19 and she has a lot of trauma from this experience and therapeutic boarding school.

We had such a wonderful experience at Sandstone and felt supported every step of the way during IOP. Family nights were always a bright part of the week and Stacey and Kiah are amazing therapists.

I spent so much time talking to an amazing employee named Jade. She seemed like a therapist because she was so good at her job. She literally explained everything patiently. She literally Helped me in so many ways… personally that I didn't expect. I'm excited and motivated about being a new patient at this facility. I was referred by a good.

My son did substance of each program last year and found that to be helpful. We started the mental health program this month. The major issue I have with sandstone is their administrative section out of Denver. They… constantly quote the wrong information about the Rockville location, including operating hours, and what to expect on the first day, etc. It’s stressful enough to have your child going through a mental health crisis, the added stresses dealing with the administration and logistics of getting into the program. I truly hope that sandstone fixes this chaotic administrative process.

I had a phenomenal experience at the Sandstone care alumni event. LeJeffrey Monica was a phenomenal program co-ordinator. She made some insightful remarks. She was really sweet and understanding. She, even, stayed with… me while I waited for my ride to come, which I thought was really sweet and i really appreciated it. I had alot of fun doing Pearlers while chit-chatting with other alumni. Sandstone care was a a huge part of my healing journey. I was so enthusiastic to be there again. It was nice to be surrounded by peers who understand mental health struggles as well as the challenges associated with navigating the pyschiatric healthcare system and balancing mental health treatment with school and/or a job. Loved the event! Will strongly recommend! Would love to see alumnis from my time there and catch up in future events!

My daughter (19) was doing well while in PHP with this program, but she started to backslide as soon as she stepped down to IOP. The program was a mess, with people getting fired in the middle of the day. Did not look… like they held people accountable for drinking, as my daughter kept drinking while in the program. The therapist did not call me back for an entire week, while my daughter was hospitalized. Although the program was a mess she liked the people she met there.

Most of the youth who go there, don't show up the next day, this is because sandstone's treatment is ineffective and the facility is poorly run. For example the cost for the treatment is immeasurable I mean they bill… you an unfathomable amount for what seems like group therapy sessions. The sober living house has you paying 1000 dollars per month just to stay there and you still have to provide for yourself I mean with that money you could rent out a small basement. Don't take your child there, don't put them through what I went through, what kids like me go through in such an overpriced glorified daycare.

I was a patient at the teen inpatient facility in Maryland and was traumatized beyond belief by the staff. It's an unsafe place for children. They were incredibly neglectful of my care and I was groomed by one of the… male nurses. I can't speak on the adult facilities or the other locations but the teen center in Maryland is incredibly abusive. Find somewhere safer.

Please do not send anyone you love to this place. They should be stripped of their accreditation. My daughter is far worse off from having been a patient here.

Do not go to this place! My 14-year-old son went here for about a week and during the second week he was attacked by a 17-year-old almost adult. He received 4 to 5 staples in his head and now we are trying to get our… money back And payment for the ambulance and hospital visit when we tried to call nobody knew anything and they told us to call billing and when we called billing, nobody answers the phone. There are no adult males or security for the sessions that only seem to arouse anger in the kids. My son was apparently being attacked and nobody did anything for several seconds to minutes. They put the kids in groups. It is not a private session experience. Take my word or experience yourself.

Extremely disappointing. I was forced to remove my troubled 13 year old son from the care of this facility. They requested a reason/history regarding the issues with which my son was struggling. I was explicit, open and… frank. To my dismay, in spite of the fact that I told them to do their "due diligence" by speaking to all the clinicians already involved, the staff decided it was easier to pick up the phone and called Child Protectives Services. They reported all the information I provided which was jut a part of a larger complex issue, I was depending on these professionals to handle in a clinical environment. Because they did not do their due diligence, they were unaware that Child protective services was already involved. If you have a choice do not use this facility. The staff does not appear to know what they are doing, particularly when it comes to critical psychologically sensitive problems/issues.

I have enjoyed my experiences here and know that I am not alone in them. The therapists and social workers set boundaries (for good reason) early on but make sure to make you feel comfortable where you are. It will… always take some hard work, but that’s life unfortunately. Ashley is great btw

Less than a week after my child 'graduated' the program, they're back to full blown use. I'm not blaming the program for my child's continued struggle with mental health and addition but boy do I feel this place has let… down our whole family. Despite my child signing paperwork at the start of treatment that allowed me as the parent full knowledge and partnership with the treatment center, I never received updates on how things were going, felt perpetually out of the loop on the course of treatment, wasn't told when my child stopped attending meetings just not showing up. Truly they were not partners at all in the recovery process. Most weeks, I had to beg and ask around for links to be shared with me so I could join the multi family group sessions. I never even got to meet the primary therapist for the IOP program, who my child said was awful and who subsequently left the program, I felt bounced around therapist to therapist and worst of all they let my child walk out the doors of the treatment program with zero after care plan in place. I'm not say they could have forced continued treatment but surely they should have, as a final part of the process, ensured that connections with resources had been made. they didn't and this duty fell on me but my help came too late and they're already back out on a bender WITH KIDS THEY MET IN THE PROGRAM, renting airbnb houses to get drunk and high in. They have also ghosted me and not responded to emails I sent trying to inquire about when my child last had prescriptions filled and what the last drug test results were so I can try to gauge where things stand and perhaps how deep back into use my kid is. Just terrible communication all around here. There was one good therapist here who my child really connected with it seemed, and I'm thankful for the sober time and participation exhibited when my child got to work with Danielle
