Advantage Behavioral Health Systems – Athens (Mitchell Bridge Road) Reviews
A licensing record says what Advantage Behavioral Health Systems is permitted to do. Reviews from patients and their families say what treatment in Athens was like, and those accounts are collected in this section.
I went there to detox recently and they let me in with open arms. The staff is amazing. They actually care and want you to get better. The food isn’t bad either. And the other patients aren’t judging you for anything. I… would 100 percent recommend this place for anyone. I was very blessed to go there.
Wish I could put zero stars. Worst mental health hospital I've ever been to. First they'll intentionally hurt you commit medical malpractice against you. Then ignore you when you're trying to make an emergency… appointment to get painkillers and an arm sling.
The bad reviews may be from people who misunderstand how healthcare and insurance works - is very confusing! But the care my daughter received here was very good. We called ahead and was encouaged to come in by a very… nice lady over the phone. The intake workers were friendly and explained the paperwork very well. The provider who triaged her was T. Jackson, and he was so nice & helpful. Thank you very much!
The amount of time that you have to wait to be assistance is ridiculous, I’m sure this place an under staffed and move very slow. I wouldn’t recommend this location at all
Didn't help any if anything now that I can't even get my meds cause I can't pay and they bill me and I can't pay that either. I would had been better off never went there for help cause now I'm more suicidal than I was… before I even went there. Before you say go somewhere else your crazy cause I ain't doing it. I rather deal with my anxiety and depression myself than trust any type medical profession ever again that goes for mental and health.
If you don’t have tough skin don’t come this way. They will belittle you and make you relapse. Honestly don’t see how recovering/recovered addicts can be so judgemental when they were given a 2nd chance and a job… through advantage.
Just got discharged today. my first time being in a place like this. the staff made me feel welcome upon arrival. they checked on you regularly. I would reccomend this place to anybody that wantand need help. 😍
Took my boyfriend here. He did intake, answered questions and signed paperwork after 45 minutes they said they couldn't keep him. What happened to compassion. Don't they take some kind of oath? I'm very disappointed.
Very helpful in helping me figure out what is best for my so and the next steps to take
Absolutely worthless, more dangerous to seek help here than to white knuckle it on your own. Kept an actively suicidal patient waiting for months with no phone call and no follow up appointments after the intake, then… quietly "discharged" them months later with no notice, no phone call, no follow-up, no referral, no care whatsoever. They will kill people doing this.
The staff is great! They make me feel very comfortable and safe. I haven't been there in years so I noticed they have a security guard there, which is good for their safety. I was asked if I needed a PC Dr and I did, I… now have one. It took about a month but I finally got my first actual well care check in about 8 years. Super happy about that. They listen and help when I have concerns about my medication, they fix the dosage when I have concerns, they truly are life savers. I can get out of bed and brush my teeth, wash my face, do my hair, and care for my plants. I used to not be able to do any of those things because my mental health was so bad. I'm so glad they are here!! Thank you Advantage!!
They have upgraded there service love it they have new programs like CST and others you just have to ask and me polite is all
PROUD PROGRAM TRULY USED TO BE AMAZING. it’s pretty much an entire new crew and they’re not personable, professional, and turn down more people than they help these days. I was in the program for three years, not one… dirty drug test, and you’d think they’d never even cared, the way they dropped me. They don’t actually help you get into somewhere else like they claim. They’ll just ask you if you’ve heard of other places. I’m telling you ever since Maryanne, Haley, and Kelsey left, the only good people there are Jackie, Tyler, and the new guy who wears and hate and has Tibetan bowls(sorry I can’t remember your name). Once Ashely left, it truly changed and not for the better. You’re better off finding another program that won’t just drop you or make you feel uncomfortable especially when you want to come off the suboxone. At this point, they want the $ from the government and that’s it. This is not about advantage as a whole. They are a wonderful place because they still have people who care but it’s few and far in between in that program. They act like they hate being there. It’s just so uncomfortable now.
I just was in there for kratom problem they saved my life im out doing great with my beautiful grandbabys i want to live very caring and friendly staff i feel so optimistic for the future now thank yall so much!!i will… forever be grateful to you all p.z im not a worker it was free service so they are very limited with gov money lol
I love going to Advantage. The staff is very friendly and caring and are sensitive to all of my needs.
This place has currently kidnapped my dad. Clark Co called and his stay is “voluntary” but their “board” will decide in 48-72 hours. No one will give you their name to be held accountable. Damndest thing I’ve ever dealt… with in my life. They are 100 percent holding him to make money absolutely nothing to do with what’s best for my dad.
Horrible experience if I could give this place no stars I would. I have an uncle who is struggling with addiction problems and let me tell ya'll finding help for people who struggle with addictions has been such a hard… challenge. I had hope when Shawna Fagon, the program manager told me about their residential 45 day program for those who struggle. She emailed me the requirements and the application to get my uncle started on the admission process. My family took days off from work, spend over $30 faxing papers to this location trying to get all the required documents for the application. My uncle does not speak English which was told to the staff at this location, therefore I would call and to the interpretation for him. Shawna Fagon told me that because my uncle does not speak English they were gonna be "no help" for him. This is why searching for help is impossible. Many addicts try to seek help and even after we spent all that time faxing papers and doing the other requirements, the program shuts him down because of the language barrier. We had been communicating with Shawna for a course of about 3 weeks, I wish she would have told us from the beginning that his Spanish was going to be the reason they will not help him. She was also rude on the phone, breathing heavy sighs when I would ask a question when all I was trying to do is get my uncle the help he needs and the help he wants. I am devastated and lost. Shawna only gave me the name of another place who by the way does not pick up the phone after calling for about 3 days now. My uncle not speaking English should not be the reason this program does not want to help him. Google translate exists.
It's appalling how inhumane some individuals can be, particularly the receptionists. They create numerous barriers for those seeking assistance, a stark reality in a country where access to healthcare is seen as a… privilege rather than a fundamental right.
The receptionists at this facility were incredibly unhelpful and rude. Upon arrival, I needed assistance but was told that I was in the system under a different location, which was unable to accommodate me for another… week. This delay was critical as I required a refill before I could see a psychiatrist. Their lack of sensitivity and rudeness was particularly frustrating given that this facility is government-run. There should be stricter oversight of such establishments, especially considering the numerous negative reviews. In the midst of the mental health crisis in the USA, it's essential to have reliable and compassionate places for individuals who have contributed through taxes and hard work. Sad but true.
A very nice place! The person at the front desk with long hair and the sick tattoos was very informative and got me in the next day at 7am for onboarding. They were able to get my a psychologist and medication, free of… charge. There is a waiting list for therapy but I recommend Nuci Space for therapy. All of this is free and paid for by the state/city. It’s a wonderful hospital and I will always recommend them!
This place sucks!!!
Really a great place for those in need. Most of the people truly seem to have a passion for thie jobs. Seems to be well run from the top
The staff was great and very patient in dealing with people in crisis and various conditions. Honestly everyone deserves a raise. The extreme wait to get a room is my only complaint. I would suggest more group therapy… times, but it’s understandable as they are way understaffed.
