Treatment Centers in Georgia That Accept Humana

Humana covers drug and alcohol rehab in Georgia through its Medicare plans and through TRICARE East, the military health program its Humana Military unit runs for service members and families. In February 2023 Humana said it would phase out employer medical coverage over 18 to 24 months, and its Georgia Medicaid plan, picked in December 2024, is not serving members yet.

Every Georgia program on this page is taken from state licensing files and government treatment registers, and each lists the care it offers and any accreditation. Drug and alcohol rehab that takes Humana or TRICARE is listed near Fort Moore, Fort Stewart and Albany, in Atlanta and Savannah, and along the Okefenokee and Camden County coast.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Humana covers substance use treatment in Georgia for Medicare Advantage members, whose plans must match Original Medicare’s inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient benefits, and for TRICARE East beneficiaries through Humana Military. TRICARE covers detox, residential rehabilitation, intensive outpatient care and medications for addiction treatment at Georgia rehab facilities when medically necessary.

Humana is a Louisville, Kentucky insurer whose business is now almost all government coverage. In Georgia that means Medicare plans, including the Humana Together in Health institutional plan for nursing home residents, TRICARE East, and a future Georgia Families Medicaid plan. Humana also owns Humana Behavioral Health, formerly LifeSynch, and rehabs that accept Humana are listed below.

When will Humana start Georgia Medicaid?

Humana plans to start in 2027. The Georgia Department of Community Health named Humana Employers Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. as an intended Georgia Families plan on December 2, 2024, and Humana’s early 2026 results point to a 2027 launch. Protests were open in April 2026, so current plans serve Georgia Medicaid rehab patients until then.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Hospital-based mental health and addiction care is a Part A benefit in Medicare, which Humana Medicare Advantage plans must cover, and a named 2026 Humana plan in Texas charges a daily copay only for the first days of an admission. TRICARE adds residential substance use rehabilitation for military families, and inpatient rehab taking Medicare is listed below.

How long will Humana pay for inpatient rehab?

For a Humana Medicare member, the stated limit is Medicare’s lifetime allowance of 190 inpatient days in a stand-alone psychiatric hospital; general hospital stays do not count against it. For TRICARE families, Humana Military reviews emergency inpatient admissions within 24 to 72 hours, and planned admissions need its prior authorization before they start.

Does Humana need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Yes, for TRICARE members; Humana Medicare members follow their own plan’s rules. A planned hospital or residential admission for a Georgia TRICARE family must be cleared by Humana Military first, while an emergency admission gets a look afterward, within one to three days. Humana Military’s line, 800-444-5445, takes both urgent requests and general questions.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Georgia?

Yes. TRICARE lists detoxification, which it calls withdrawal management, among the substance use services it covers in emergency and nonemergency inpatient settings, so a Georgia military family can use medically supervised detox with insurance. For Humana Medicare Advantage members, detox during a hospital admission falls under the inpatient benefit that Medicare Part A defines.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Medicare Part B, which Humana Medicare Advantage plans match, covers outpatient therapy, family counseling, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, and a named 2026 Humana plan in Texas lists outpatient substance use services with a flat copay. Humana says some plans charge nothing extra for telehealth mental health visits, and outpatient rehab accepting Medicare is listed by city.

TRICARE covers intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs for Georgia beneficiaries, and Humana Military looks at each case once care has begun instead of approving it beforehand. Family members on TRICARE Prime generally need no referral for outpatient mental health visits, and TRICARE intensive outpatient programs are listed below.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. Clinic-based opioid care, the Medicare benefit behind methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone at enrolled programs, is a listed category on Humana Medicare Advantage plans, and TRICARE pays for medications for addiction treatment in three settings: a general prescriber’s office, a specialty program, or a licensed opioid treatment clinic. Naltrexone treatment accepting insurance is one option listed here.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes, at opioid treatment programs. Humana Military reviews TRICARE opioid treatment program care concurrently rather than in advance, and Medicare members pay the plan’s program copay, which Original Medicare sets at nothing after the Part B deductible. Georgia licenses each methadone dispensing clinic through its Department of Community Health.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes. TRICARE covers buprenorphine through office-based opioid treatment, so a doctor can prescribe it outside a clinic, and Medicare covers it at enrolled opioid treatment programs, alongside counseling and drug testing. TRICARE Suboxone providers and buprenorphine programs that take insurance both appear in the listings.

Humana Rehab Centers Near Beaches and Wilderness

Humana’s TRICARE role makes Georgia’s military communities central to this page, and two of them sit in distinctive country: the Camden County coast around Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, and the Okefenokee Swamp between Waycross and Valdosta. TRICARE rules are the same in both, while Medicare plan costs differ by plan and county.

Humana rehab near the Camden County beaches

Camden County, home to Kings Bay, St. Marys, Kingsland and the ferry to Cumberland Island, has Navy families whose TRICARE East coverage is administered by Humana Military, which authorizes their nonemergency inpatient and residential care, and beach-area rehab programs include recovery services in St. Marys.

Humana rehab near the Okefenokee Wilderness

The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, with its federal wilderness area, spreads across Charlton, Ware and Clinch counties near Waycross, Folkston and Homerville. Airmen at Moody Air Force Base near Valdosta are on TRICARE East, and treatment near wilderness areas includes Waycross treatment programs for Humana members.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Georgia?

Browse the listings on this page. Humana or TRICARE is named as a payer by every program here, and narrowing by town, care level or substance surfaces the nearest. Phoning from a listing connects to the program, whose staff can say whether it is a TRICARE network provider or in the member’s Medicare plan network.

Admission with Humana depends on the program: TRICARE members need Humana Military’s prior authorization for nonemergency inpatient and residential care, while Medicare Advantage members follow their plan’s rules. Humana Medicare Customer Care is 800-457-4708, with daily hours during the October to March enrollment season, and the other Humana lines are below.

Humana rehab in Columbus and Fort Moore

Columbus is home to Fort Moore, where soldiers’ families and nearby military retirees get TRICARE East through Humana Military, which has run the region under the T-5 contract since January 1, 2025. Prior authorization for a residential stay comes from Humana Military, and programs near Fort Moore and Columbus rehab centers are listed.

Humana rehab in Hinesville and Fort Stewart

Hinesville surrounds Fort Stewart, and Army families there use TRICARE East through Humana Military. Active-duty soldiers normally get care through military clinics, while spouses and children can see outpatient therapists without a referral at Hinesville rehab programs and around Fort Stewart treatment options.

Savannah’s Hunter Army Airfield puts Army families in Chatham County under TRICARE East, where Humana Military reviews intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and opioid treatment program care once it begins rather than before. Planned residential stays still need its prior authorization, at 800-444-5445, for Savannah addiction treatment.

Humana rehab in Atlanta and the metro counties

Atlanta nursing home residents may be enrolled in Humana Together in Health, a PPO institutional special needs plan offered in Georgia with Longevity Health supplying clinical services while Humana remains the insurer. Humana Medicare Customer Care, 800-457-4708, handles plan questions for members using Atlanta rehab programs and treatment in Marietta.

Humana rehab in Albany and Dougherty County

Albany’s Marine Corps Logistics Base brings active-duty Marines, their families and military retirees under TRICARE East, administered by Humana Military. Because TRICARE excludes aversion therapy and treatments without proven benefit, programs at Albany rehab facilities bill TRICARE only for covered care.

Can I use Humana for rehab in a different state?

Yes, for TRICARE members anywhere in the East Region’s 24 states and Washington, D.C., and on Humana PPO plans with providers willing to treat them. Humana HMO members generally stay in network, HMO-POS versions allow some non-network care at a higher copay, and some PPOs cover telehealth substance use visits only in network.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Humana costs vary by plan and county. Its Medicare Advantage designs mostly use fixed copays, a set amount for each outpatient visit and a per-day amount during the first part of an admission, under an annual in-network spending limit. Some Humana Medicare Advantage plans end after December 31, 2026, and their members were due nonrenewal notices by October 2.

Humana members whose plan ends in 2026, and Georgians without coverage, have other routes. Uninsured Georgians may qualify for state-funded programs paid by the state behavioral health department, veterans in crisis can reach the Veterans Crisis Line through 988, and VA-funded rehab programs appear in the listings.
