Treatment Centers in Georgia That Accept Georgia Medicaid

Under Georgia Medicaid, drug and alcohol rehab is paid by whichever Georgia Families health plan the member picked: Amerigroup Community Care, CareSource or Peach State Health Plan. Inpatient care, intensive outpatient treatment and counseling sit inside the plan’s own benefit, while the state behavioral health department funds a separate network of community programs.

Georgia listings below are drawn from state licensing files and government treatment registers, with each program’s levels of care and any accreditation shown. Drug and alcohol rehab under Georgia Medicaid is listed in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon and Columbus, and in smaller towns from the Blue Ridge to the Golden Isles.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about Georgia Medicaid

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Georgia Medicaid cover drug and alcohol rehab?

Georgia Medicaid pays for withdrawal management, outpatient counseling and medication for opioid use disorder, with adult eligibility running through Pathways to Coverage rather than an ordinary expansion.

Because that route attaches a qualifying activity requirement, coverage reaches fewer adults than in neighboring states, and facilities taking the plan almost always record outpatient care too.

Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance/medicaid/
What kinds of treatment programs accept Georgia Medicaid?

Outpatient care turns up on nearly every Georgia Medicaid facility, but the distinctive pairing is walk-in intake, recorded at roughly twice the rate seen across the site. Programming outside the traditional step model also appears noticeably more often than average.

Inpatient care is recorded on a minority and telehealth on nearly all of them, so people enrolled through Pathways to Coverage often start with a same-day assessment and move up from there.

Walk-In Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/walk-in-rehab/
Which addictions can be treated with Georgia Medicaid?

Methamphetamine and cocaine treatment is the substance category recorded more consistently than any other at facilities taking Georgia Medicaid, covering the larger part of them and appearing noticeably more often than across the site. Opioid treatment follows on a clear majority, matching the plan's coverage of medication for opioid use disorder.

Stimulant Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/addictions/stimulant/

Does Georgia Medicaid Cover Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Georgia Medicaid covers substance use treatment inside the benefit package of every Georgia Families plan, so the member’s own plan, not a separate vendor, pays for covered drug and alcohol rehab. Peach State Health Plan’s August 2026 handbook lists inpatient and outpatient substance use care, intensive outpatient services and community rehabilitation services at Georgia drug and alcohol rehabs.

Georgia Medicaid is run by the Georgia Department of Community Health, which contracts three care management organizations for Georgia Families: Amerigroup Community Care, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan. The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities co-administers community behavioral health services and funds contracted addiction providers in six regions; rehabs that accept Georgia Medicaid are listed here.

Which Georgia Medicaid plan pays for rehab?

The member’s Georgia Families plan pays, and that line-up is under review. On December 2, 2024 the department named CareSource, Humana, Molina and UnitedHealthcare as the intended winners of new contracts, leaving out Amerigroup and Peach State. Protests were still open on April 23, 2026, when the current contracts were extended through June 30, 2027.
