North Tampa Behavioral Health – Wesley Chapel Detox and Rehab Services

What North Tampa Behavioral Health – Wesley Chapel offers, on record, is detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Medical supervision covers the withdrawal period, where alcohol and benzodiazepines carry real risk. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

Noone answers the phone when your love one is in this facility. They give you a time frame to call between 5pm to 8pm to talk with your love one but NOONE ANSWERS. This is horrible!

Made an admissions appointment here for the Friday before Labor Day, for our young adult son to join the PHP program. Called back the day before their appointment to check that they were open on Monday, as you have to… start within 72 hrs of admissions, to be told that they weren't sure but to come for the appointment anyway! Drove nearly an hour to get there on Fri, only to sit in a sterile, uninviting reception area for 40/45mins, which did nothing for our son's extreme anxiety, to have a young nurse come out and tell us that we had to come back tomorrow as the PHP place would be shut on Monday!! We did return the next day and sat, again for at least 20mins, at least we could have had some soothing background music, only for our son to totally shut down and unable to do the admission process. Sadly this is definitely not the place for anyone one with extreme anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD! I could add more but realistically this is hopefully enough to get the point across.

I was a patient for a bit and overall I don’t think this should be a first pick. It was always so cold in the main room and we weren’t allowed any blankets so we were just freezing the whole time and curled up on the… chairs, for showers all they gave was a tiny cup of body wash and no shampoo. At one point the shower in my room flooded the bathroom every time we used it and I told multiple people which told me “they will take care of it” yet they never did but the gym breaks were good and food was ok.

If you’re looking for a partial hospitalization program that caters to top down approaches to mental health care, this is your place! If you are looking for treatment that repairs trauma and complex trauma, I recommend… further research. Their programs offer worksheets, packets, and coping mechanisms in depression, anxiety, some PTSD, and a little trauma.

My daughter had a bowel disease and has been in this facility for nearly 48 hours and cannot eat the food being given to her. She threw up blood and was told "we will keep an eye on it" she's been given no hygiene… products and had to beg for feminine products more than once. The patient advocate doesn't answer the phone. The charge nurse doesn't care. You're better off dealing with your problems at home, this place is a horror show

This place is horrendous! My husband came here as a baker act. The hospital never notified me or anyone else that he was transported here from Ocala. Only found out he was here when they finally let him call me. They… made him stay in the same clothes for days, wouldn't give me the address of the facility for over 3 days to bring him anything. Nobody is available to answer questions or anything..... keep your loved ones clear of this hell!!!!

Roderick is an amazing discharge partner. All of the staff were really nice to work with and treated my daughter with respect. I'm excited to see when the adolescent residential facility opens.

I went to their IOP for two weeks and it was the worse IOP. We were to go from 11 am to 1pm. We never started on time. The checkin was ridiculous. Nicole ran the group and she didn't know anything. There was no cbt, dbt… or substance use treatment. This was a waste of time.

Although some of the nurses are nice, the overall facility is much to be desired. The techs just pass their days by making a living. Absolutely NOBODY answers a call, follows up on a message or take anything into… consideration. The staff doctors admit to keeping "patients" sedated to keep them "in line" and the phone line disconnects loved ones that want to connect. DO NOT recommend to anyone.

I want to thank North Tampa Behavioral Health. The facility looks modern and clean and the staff was engaging, kind and nice people. This is the best mental health facility in the entire central western region of the… state. As an American I get free top quality health insurance called Medicare A, B & D. The intake staff was very cheerful and engaging and attentive to the patients inside the secure facility. I got my new medicine for behavioral health and I couldn't be more happier with the results. My mood totally changed inside the facility from being completely sour to roaring with joy and comfort and remaining that way throughout my recent mental health journey. I'm usually very happy for about 90% of the time. I preoccupy myself with fun activities like bicycling and basketball but there are certain times that I fall into a hole of anxiety, depression and self doubt around 10% of the time overall but the new medication helps me to balance my mood and I physically feel better after taking my medication. If I ever have another mental health meltdown again I will go directly to this facility for proper healthcare and wellbeing updates. Don't be afraid to ask for help when it comes to mental health. Your mental health is important and you should evaluate yourself honestly and outwardly if ever or whenever you're in doubt ask for help before making a final decision that could end your life prematurely. I hope this helps someone who is in need of mental health. Speak outwardly about mental health don't be ashamed. Many people, millions of people remain undiagnosed in positions of grand stature and low stature. Seek help if you need it please. Try your best to look forward towards something new & uncomfortable. Try something new for a change that lasts. Ciao

DO NOT SEND LOVED ONES HERE! Communication is horrible, they are leaving my mother in terrible conditions. They have not even given her the clothes that we brought her hours ago. Took me 2 hours to get her on the phone… during "phone time" which left me no time to speak to her. Truly disappointing how people can treat others with mental health struggles. My mom was trying to better herself and now she is traumatized from this.

The usual worthless "help" that is nothing but talk and ends as soon as all the boxes on the list are checked and they can get rid of you. Promised to get an MRI; never happened. Promised to have a family session before… the weekend was out; never happened. Promised to help with finding placement options; never happened. Threatening our other children with a DCF investigation if we didn't do what they wanted did absolutely happen. Truly worthless and absolutely no help at all.
