Mirmont Treatment Center – Media Detox and Rehab Services

Recorded services at Mirmont Treatment Center – Media are detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

This place was fantastic! My 1st and only. If you are determined to quit the alcohol cycle, they will give you all the tools you'll ever need. Craig is an exceptional counselor who really cares and treats you with… respect. No holding hands and singing crap. Just the facts and what You need to do to change. Just past 2 years sober and never could have done it without this place. Also, the chef is very serious about his creations and it shows. I ate very well!!

I attended Mirmont when I was 16 and again at 46. Ignore the 1 or 2 star reviews. Those people simply didn't get their own way so they feel better by downing Mirmont. Mirmont is by far the best Rehab in the Tri-State… Area. The food is amazing and the facility is spotless.

Mirmont provides an incredibly impactful environment for treatment and growth. During my time there, Nina was phenomenal—her guidance was instrumental in preparing me for my transition to extended treatment at Ambrosia… in Port St. Lucie, which is an excellent facility. I participated in their in-person EMDR and was a head participant in the Phoenix group setting, where the breakthrough energy and emotion in the room were deeply felt by everyone, making it a powerful experience. Now, eight years sober, I highly respect their clinical approach and recommend Mirmont to anyone seeking authentic, structured support.

If you could pick zero Stars I would. Mirmont is going down hill fast. The Doctors will shred your health record if you discharge early. They will go as far as saying you have addictions to Benzodiazepines even if you… Never tested positive. Food sucks and requests go in one ear out the other. Go to the ER-Mirmont is all about the money

Awesome place to receive treatment! I completed my 30 day inpatient program. Unfortunately I've been discharged from PHP for missing days due to illness. Everything was going so good in my life due to Mirmont, but now,… im back to square one.i completely understand their attendance policy but there should be some leniency towards legitimate illness. Carollee, Carly and the rest of the staff there are awesome. I feel hopeless at this point. I feel like I've tried everything and yet, I still failed myself and my love ones. I pray to be able to bounce back.

Went to this place 8/15/21 and I have been sober ever since. The derogatory reviews are primarily from people’s families who do not know the first thing about treatment because they enable their loved ones day in & day… out & do not even realize it. It’s a rehab, not a 5 star hotel, so what do you expect? I enjoyed the outdoor spaces they had - garden, playing field etc…If I didn’t come to an agreement for aftercare with my counselor John, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review. I also would’ve never met the love of my life (whose name is also John). Going to Mirmont on 8/25/21 has aligned my life for the better: Thank you Mirmont and John!

I went to Mirmont Treatment Center several years ago and it was filthy. The passive aggressive staff are extraordinary rude and inept especially Patrick Muldoon. I would not send my worst enemy to Mirmont Treatment… Center in Lima, Pennsylvania.

Absolute scam! They had me go to an evaluation that was court ordered, the therapist lied to my face, told me she would not recommend treatment, that she would send an evaluation that day to the courts, as well as that… my insurance would not cover ANY treatment. They then scheduled me for IOP and expect me to pay $1000 a week. Im now in violation of a court order because they wanted to be completely dishonest. Im filing complaints with SAMSHA, JAACO, and any other relevant regulatory agencies. Disgusting, i feel terrible for those who really want and need the help. Also the customer service reps are extremely rude and are very much misinformed, I had to get my attorney to threaten them with legal action just to get records I have every legal right to possess.

A family member of mine is a patient and there is very minimal communication with family who is carrying 100 percent of the weight from there loved one being gone. I understand the level of discretion they must take but… regular life is being conducted outside of the facility and its extremely difficult to pay bills without account information thats inaccessible through 10 minute phone calls at random times 3 days a week. You literally need to show face to get any answers back and its very unrealistic for someone who is carrying all this weight plus working a 40 hour job plus overtime up to 20-30 hrs a week. To say im irritated is an understatement. Ive called and left multiple vmails and still havent heard any response from staff.

Because of this place, I just spent my fourth New Year’s Eve sober and with my family. Their staff is amazing. They truly cared. The food was delicious. It was very clean. I’ve even met people who went to a few… different rehabs who still say that Mirmont was the best one. They never treated me like an addict. They treated me as a person who was suffering from alcoholism. From my therapist to the CA’s, nurses and the management, empathized with what I was going through and empowered me and I could overcome the battle of addiction. My therapist Sydney was incredible. my family and I had one meeting with her, and she was excellent at communicating to them what I was going through. There were so many people there that were awesome. But this one guy in particular I believe his name was Craig or Greg - he was one of the CA’s and an amazing speaker. He was energetic and fun he was able to break down addiction and how it works in the mind in a way that I was able to understand I think one of the best things about it was everyone there was fun It truly made the entire experience I learned to have fun again being sober Their trauma therapist, I believe his name was Dr. Scott was fantastic. It’s been a number of years so I can’t remember everybody’s name, but I just know that everybody there was phenomenal. I was severely addicted to alcohol. I was lost and broken I hated myself and my addiction and because of Mirmont and my experience there (twice) I’m not living a sober life. I’m truly happier than I’ve ever been. If you’re thinking about getting sober just go. It will be the best decision you’ve ever made for yourself

I would never send a loved one to this place. I was sent here, and my experience was incredibly traumatic. I sat in a freezing cold auditorium every day (after being woken up at 6:30 a.m) until 9 p.m. with 99 other… people listening to various "professionals" or recovered people talk. Everyone was sick with a nasty cold. I had zero individual therapy. It is just a holding place. There was no running hot water,, it was February, and I was sent here involuntarily. They actually had patients' meds piled in bags in a drawer, and they would literally use my meds for other patients taking the same medication. One night they couldn't even find my medications I had brought. This facility was supposed to treat people with a dual diagnosis...when tried to leave, the financial officer literally told me they were going to keep me for as long as my insurance would pay for it. If I left, insurance would not pay as I would be leaving against medical advice. I still think about how awful my experience was at this place...it was traumatizing. Ever since my stay here, my psychologist and psychiatrist I currently see promised never to send me to a place like this ever again in my life. What worked for me is an excellent therapist/psychologist and the right medication and NOT a place like Mirmont. I hope it has changed since I was there.

Mary Cosgrove should be ASHAMED of herself on how she handles her job. As amazing as Craig, Jessica, Terry and Mike were, Mary Cosgrove was enough to ruin the program for my loved one. I can’t in my right frame of mind… suggest this place to ANYONE while I know they would be under Mary Cosgroves care. She’s absolutely terrible and truly shouldn’t be allowed to work with people.

This place saved my life! Amazing, caring staff. Wonderful program. My counselor Tracy was incredible and helped me get to the root of why I felt the need to use. They truly care about their patients and want you to… stay connected even when you leave, as I’m part of their Alumni program. I met lots of great people who I can network with. I am now going strong and sober thanks to Mirmont. One of the best rehabs around.

Absolutely horrible facility, the staff is sexist, it has astronomical daily costs, and the medical staff is incredibly incompetent and rude. The facility is also old and overcrowded, with the male patients often… occupying the female ward. There are no supervisors, or medical personnel above nurses on staff over the weekend. There are incredibly invasive strip searches, heavy restrictions on razors, phone time, and visits. There are only 5 phones with a ten minute phone time during certain hours of the day for the entire facility. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Don't go here.

They claimed they treated dual diagnosis.. and that is absolutely ridiculous! I suffer from panic disorder and general anxiety disorder. I've been on Klonopin prescribed by my psychiatrist and have been on for 12 years.… They tapered me from Klonopin in 9 days and almost killed me. I've furthered my research at University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins hospital and both establishments said 9 days detox after 12 years on Klonopin is incredibly absurd! I'm now tapering with a pharmacy under doctors supervision at a micro level. I'm talking .025 mgs a week. Now, if you suffer both mentally and with substance abuse DO NOT go to Mirmont. The medical director is inept and should be employed as a circus clown! She looked at me for 2 minutes and told me I need coping skills and closed the door. The problem for me was the detox/mental duality treatment. They do NOT treat mental health issues whatsoever. They actually trapped me in the facility. The employees were very knowledgeable about other drugs and recovery but NOT from benzodiazapines. As I said, they are completely ignorant to mental health! PLEASE do your homework about an extremely slow taper with Klonopin..Xanax ..Ativan etc. They insisted my agony was purely detox from Klonopin and it was part of it but in my case the mental side along with my mental disorders was the full explanation. My anxiety more than tripled and I was having extreme panic attacks every 10-15 trying to sleep which I informed them in my agony from the fast detox. I'm lucky to be alive so I can achieve my goal to be drug free and mentally healthy. This facility is NOT structured for mental health issues although they say the are. My thoughts are this.. detox and rehab for other kinds of substances. Maybe, For mental health and benzodiazapine recovery.. NO dam WAY! I hope this helps someone who is suffering like I was. I'm still struggling but moving forward the right way. Bless all who are struggling to get and stay healthy!! Further information can be found at the Benzo Information Coalition.

Mirmont saved my life and I cannot say enough good things about it. I wish I could have stayed longer! The staff is excellent, from the counselors to clinical aides to support staff. The trauma program in particular is… incredible and I highly recommend it. The food is excellent, beds very comfortable, and so great that they have a gym. So glad to be a part of their alumni program as well which is very comprehensive and keeps you a part of this great community.

I had a family attend in July 2023. The lack of constant communication with staff while your loved one is seeking treatment led to only further issues upon their return home. Even when reaching out to say I noticed… changes in the brief conversations I was having with my family member, staff said that they were doing well and did not see the issues I was experiencing. I experienced a person who became out of focused, repetitive in 10 minute calls not remembering they just discussed the same thing minutes before. There was no exit interview nor any family outreach to say when my loved would come home and what the next steps were. While each person has there own struggles that lead to them seeking help, i’m not negative towards it not being able to solve the problem, but rather the total lack of communication with family who would be the support person when they come home. They must reevaluate the communication and i would have discussed that directly if someone would have ever taken my calls in the weeks after the return of my family member. Until i would see those steps, I would never recommend this facility, and i don’t say it lightly . I can count on one hand how many google reviews i have done like this and have plenty of fingers left over.
