DR MATT TRAVELER MATT AND THE X-RAY PERSON WERE EXCELLENT KIND AND PROFESSIONAL ALONG WITH ALL I ENCOUNTERED THE MINUTE I WALKED INTO THE ER
I recently had a five-day stay at Sharp that began with an unexpected trip to the emergency room. As most people know, there’s a certain dread that comes with having to go to the ER, but I was pleasantly surprised by… how quickly I was brought into a room and cared for. From the very beginning, the staff was kind and compassionate. The doctor was attentive, and the nurses worked together to make sure I was comfortable and well cared for. My stay was on 2P, where I had the privilege of being cared for by some truly incredible people. Every nurse, nursing assistant, and housekeeper I encountered went above and beyond. Yes—even the housekeeping staff would ask how they could make my stay better! I’ve been home for a few weeks now, and I continue to feel incredibly grateful for everyone at Sharp who played a part in my recovery. During a difficult and unexpected time, their kindness, teamwork, and compassion made such a difference. Thank you to everyone who cared for me. I will never forget the way you helped me through one of the hardest moments of my year. ❤️
Absolutely the worst -
Worst hospital ever.
This has got to be the absolute worst experience I’ve had at an ER in my whole life. I spent about 8 hours there and had to ask multiple times for updates. I saw older patients who were keeled over in pain and nurses… and doctors walked past them like they didn’t exist. I ended up leaving and not finishing my care because of how terrible my experience was in there. My pain was getting worse the longer I sat there and ended up going home without any resolution. One guy came to visit his daughter with a warm meal …he was checked in and he sat there for over an hour because “no one knew he was there.” Even though I saw him check in with three different people. They apparently had a system outage but didn’t communicate that to anyone instead allowed sick people to just sit there not knowing what was going on. I don’t recommend this place whatsoever.
Simply Horrific... they can't even draw blood! Midevil! Stay clear! Nurses on computer entire shift... Patty was an great nurse, Alex too... others spend entire shift on computer. Drip left empty.. Patient Care = minus… 1000. Food horrible too. 7 days only one sponge bath. Felix NEVER came to my room. They defend till the end. No apology, just LIES! The waiting room etc are FILTHY! Every Doc in the area say BEWARE! NITEMARE! My arm was scared terribly! 😱
Liars and scammers.. want 8000 dollars for little to no treatment for a couple hrs time. didnt solve a problem. just piut ppl in debt. doctors only are here to make ppl sick theres no benifit to healthly ppl becausethey… wouldnt be around. Doctors are frauds and liars want proof its called COVID!
For a hospital stay, my experience at Sharp Tri City Hospital was excellent. ALL staff were wonderful. Responsive and caring. Made you feel human, not just a patient. Special call out to Eddie for his chats while taking… my vitals.
I was transferred to the rehabilitation program after suffering several strokes. My complaint is more of cleaning up the rooms. In two nights as I am either woken up or simply sat on the bed, I have noticed two large… cockroaches just roaming at night. Not only is this unsanitary but frustrating when you are unable to move. The room needs better cleaning and keep up. Do not blame the bugs present due to construction. Bugs are in this facility because cleaning is necessary. This issue can be prevented to allow patients recovery.
The service was quick and very efficient, from my arrival at the emergency room until my hospitalization. The staff was very friendly and polite, with only a slight lack of coordination regarding the food. Last night my… dinner was limited to coffee and milk; I don't know why they didn't order food for me. But the doctors and nurses were very efficient in their work.
Horrible hospital,. Spent 10 hours in this so call hospital for pain. They didn’t treat it nor gave anything that would help. They ran test after test and weren’t able to come up with anything answer. I had to put a… stop at the fourth blood test. Severely disappointed with the newly Sharp acquired hospitals Tri-City has become even worse.
Worst hospital experience I've ever had. Was told by my providers to go to urgentcare for what was thought to be lower GI bleeding. I went some point in the afternoon and was not allowed to go home until nearly 11 PM.… The nurse who gave my IV did it incorrectly; I tried to tell her it felt wrong but was ignored. Then when I went to get a scan, the operator noticed the IV was not inserted correctly and sent me back. There was another patient beside me in the waiting who told me they had attempted to give her an IV 7 seperate times and missed each time. They were not able to properly IV me until late into the night, and had to cover my lower body with a pad because their method of doing so caused a lot of blood to come out. During this whole fiasco, I listened to the nurses all chat about their disdain for homeless people. And one nurse who's son had just walked in and was given a bed immediately due to being related to an employee. Overall this was the worst medical experience I have ever had. I have had my blood drawn many, many times, and have had IVs with no problems, before this experience. Now because of what happened here I am always nervouse to have my blood drawn or IV inserted. It never was this way before but this negative experience left a long lasting effect. Don't go here unless you intend to be here all day + to have your IV injected into your muscle rather than your veins.
I was transported to Tri-City Medical Center by paramedics because they suspected a stroke and Tri-City was the closest hospital, and from the ER to the care I received once admitted to the Telemetry unit, I was… attended to by the most competent, professional and interested staff. I felt very seen and heard and was treated in the best manner. From Dr. Chaing in the ER to the many competent staff members that I experienced on the Telemetry unit at 4 West, the treatment I received was exceptional. I’m sure I won’t remember everybody’s names, but there are several I do recall and would like to say thanks for all you did. Dr. Shih, and nurses Abi and Nate and Clayton. The neurologist Dr. Omuro was awesome. I feel very confident in their care and would gladly trust them with my health in the future. Thank you all for all you did.
I really wanted to be positive about this place but I just can’t. It’s under new management (Sharp) and I can totally see where this is headed. They need the money. Forget what the patient needs your left to suffer. I… kid you not, shortcuts everywhere. Care, employees, medicine, supplies you name it. I’ve been admitted twice one for 8 days & the second 4 1/2. First go around in Feb was a complete nightmare that left me 100% traumatized. So much so I had to lodge a complaint with Patients Advocates. I was hoping for a letter back with changes in policies like would you prefer a male/female nurse & why the employees were no nasty, disrespectful & not knowledgeable & other choice words I won’t express. The letter was vague no explanation than we have done internal investigations. I’m sure there legal dept wrote it. It was horrible to have been put through what I did with 2 males nurses that I filed a police report which remains open to this day. When you are at your most vulnerable state you’d hope where you are your safe & well taken care of. My expectations are high why can’t there’s . When Corporate Companies concern is the “money” aspect only you are screwed period. This is exactly what I was expecting & yep it’s exactly what happened again. What I will say positively is there are a small amount of nurses that are very good at what they do. I certainly hope in this probationary period that those set of ladies are seen & are recognized for what they do. If you have doubts while your there trust your instincts!!!
Was seen in the ER today. I would have given 0 stars if it was an option but it was not. 1. “Sub waiting” area. I understand I was not dying and bays are needed for other patients, but to take patients from the ER bays… and place in a small area the width of a hallway with a partition wall did not make it more efficient as I was there for 3/4 of my time in the ER. I went in for chest pain. The only relief I was having was leaning forward. Which I was unable to do because I would have had my head in the lap of lady in the chair in front of me. 2. I spent over 3 hours in a Greys Anatomy episode in the sub waiting area. Listening to unprofessional talk from the nurses and staff, some of which I believe were nursing students doing clinical rotation. I heard flirting, personal issues to include “I hope I don’t get another HR write up. While another male responded “ that would suck to get a write up and have to explain that one to your wife”. 3. A gentleman was brought in via ambulance, they were bringing him into this sub waiting area and staff were loudly discussing his overdose of ketamine possibly laced with fentanyl……..Did the other 6 of us and who were in the sub waiting area and the bays near us (approx 4) need to know his personal medical issues…..NO! Especially since he walked in as they were discussing it and told him to have a seat so everyone knew who it was. HIPPA violation!! 4. I over heard the ER doc who was initially in the triage area, talking to my ER doctor about me. “ Yeah, when I asked her about medication allergies she said had xxxxxx medication allergies. When I asked what happens when taking xxxxxx, she said xxxxxx, thats not even an allergic reaction” First I specifically said it was on my allergy list via my doctor but I technically have a sensitivity to it not an allergy. I don’t know, it was like he was implying that I am an idiot or a hypochondriac, either way rude, not accurate, and unprofessional! My doctor did not comment, good for him, at least one person there was being professional. 5. Nurse, don’t know his name because his name badge was flipped towards his chest, so we could not see his picture or name. Comes over with a cup and a syringe hands me the cup and says “drink this”. No introduction, no the doctor has put in an order for xxx, nothing about any of my test results and we are giving you xxx for xxx. NOTHING. So I asked, what is this…..and what is the syringe? He then told me like I was being difficult. I had declined pain medication 2x already. So I wanted to make sure what I was receiving and why I was receiving it, thats not being difficult that being informed, which is my right and was his job. Then I was asked to sit in the quiet care area so the doctor could come and speak with me. 6. Finally, after consulting with the doctor and going over my tests and what he wants me to do and who I should follow up with, I was returned to the sub waiting area. My discharge nurse, Wendy, comes over to remove my picc line, blood in the line, no gloves, takes it out, placed it on the chair next to me, wraps my arm, picks up the picc line and throws it into the trash. Regular trash, not a bio hazard container. No thought of health and safety for other patients or cleaning staff. I am sure this violated hospital policy, OSHA regulations and state and federal laws. This whole experience was deplorable. I will be filing my complaints with the hospital tomorrow when that department is open. I will also be filing complaints and concerns to the licensing authorities. I will NEVER go back there! I will say my treating physician was thorough and explained everything to me once I saw him again after all my test results came back.
This ER is terrible. I have been waiting 5 hours so far and I am going to lose a day of work because it is 2am and I likely will not be done in the next few hours. Do not waste your time with this place, drive further… into San Diego to actually get seen in a reasonable amount of time!!!
Very poor ER service. If you can make the choice to go to a different emergency room, do it. Came here from out of state for a car accident. The staff seem overwhelmed and the facilities were in a state when I went.… Contacting them is a complete nightmare. On top of that, the ER department is contracted out to a third party, so there's a completely separate bill that will find its way to you.
Tried to go to the ER, but saw people complaining about nearly 2 hr wait in the waiting room and people being picked up my ambulances to be taken to other hospitals when they couldn't wait any longer. Was told it was… the start of the holiday weekend but went to Scripps and got into a room in less than 10 minutes. This hospital should be closed down
Very patient and helpful. Always had a smile no matter what
I had to go into the ER yesterday and WOW what a difference! The ER has been updated and modernized and the entry area, the waiting area and the bathrooms have all been up upgraded and are clean and bright. Also, every… single interaction I had with staff and nurses was positive, friendly and made me feel like I was genuinely cared for. The wait time wasn’t too bad, (but I did go mid-day when it wasn’t too busy.) Overall, it was such an improved experience and you can tell this hospital has really made it a priority to change patients’ experience here.
Wrong meds, slow to respond, staff attitudes "why are you bothering me "
Trash hospital 🚮 zero stars really
Eddy that AC T it’s a excellent asset to tri-city, more people like him that will be nice to have around on telemetry department!!!!
Staff were friendly and very fast. Fastest ER visit. 100% recommend.
Very good care. The nurses and staff in ICU put a 100 percent effort to get me up and moving while the Doctors were making decisions after discussing it with me. The care when I was moved to Telemetry was very good as… well.
No idea if this counts but, went here sometime in 2023, they were friendly and spoke to me and that is all I needed at that time. I was going through mental issues during this time.
