Access Health Services – Lanham Detox and Rehab Services
Access Health Services – Lanham is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Access Health Services – Lanham Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 9470 Annapolis Road in Lanham, Maryland, 20706. Prince Georges County covers this area. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

How Much Does Treatment at Access Health Services – Lanham Cost?
Before insurance, typical prices in Maryland put a week of medical detox at $1,750 to $5,600 and standard outpatient care at $1,500 to $5,500 a month. Access Health Services’ own fees were not found at the time of writing, so the figures describe the state as a whole.

I too would give zero stars if it were possible! This group wasted five precious weeks of my life, that I can’t get back. I called to start an appt for both my daughter & I. I specifically said we wanted online & what… our objective was, set an appt, then…crickets. I had to call them to find out why I hadn’t received any instructions, paperwork to fill out etc. Well, it turned out they didn’t set the appointment because the “Dr.” says she didn’t offer what we were looking for!!! It took five weeks to get this information and only because I CALLED THEM! I also called this group because they listed an address right here in the building I live in, in VA. Not sure why that is or what shady practice is happening when their office is in Maryland. I’m sure it has to do with Medicaid claims. There is definitely a language barrier issue as well, not to mention complete disorganization! I have incurable cancer and I will never be able to regain the five precious weeks I needed to work out some issues with my daughter. Please read the reviews carefully! I wish I had before falling. Good luck & good health to you all.
Thank you Dr A with Access Medspa. I had a wonderful treatment and very impressed with my hydra facial results. Already scheduled my next treatment. Best medspa in the area
Access Health Services is exceptional choice, the staff and Dr. Asongtia Ntonghawah are caring and personal with service and highly recommend. Thank you for kindness and patience with care.
Dr A is the best psychiatrist I have had. Honest and very caring. I love coming here.
I had a great experience with Access Health Services in Maryland. The service was professional, respectful, and well organized. Dr. A was very knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to listen to my concerns and… explain everything clearly. I felt cared for and supported throughout the process. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I appreciate the level of attention and professionalism I received. I would recommend Access Health Services to anyone looking for quality care and a positive healthcare experience.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. A and the entire team. From my first visit, I felt welcomed and comfortable. Dr. A took the time to listen to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and truly made me feel cared… for. I appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and genuine attention I received throughout my care. Highly recommend Dr. A’s office ACCESS HEALTH SERVICES!

6/9/26 Update: I am not sure what the issue is exactly but I do know there is a language barrier for the person who is answering the phones. When it comes to mental health and prescribing medication, I prefer someone… who is professional and knowledgeable. I called multiple times due to a mental health emergency and the woman did not understand me or the importance of my call. This was a life threatening emergency and it was not handled with care, at all. I had to call back multiple times and the woman still got my appt time and day wrong, even though she rescheduled the appts days prior . Due to the carelessness, I am updating my review. I am a therapist/Social Worked myself and I can’t recommend this facility. My earlier review was based on not having a proper diagnosis and just receiving med management. My appt times are usually less than 5 min and there are days where the phone # works or doesn’t work. Someone who is working admin at a psychiatric/behavioral health facility should at least be able to hold a conversation in regard to appts, scheduling, and the severity of mental health disorders. This is not okay, when you have people seeking help. January ‘26 review: Dr. A and her staff are always helpful when I call or have an appt.
Please read this before becoming a patient here: Psychiatric appointments are meant to be 15+ minutes depending on medical need. In reality, my most intensive sessions with Dr. A (Asongtia) averaged approximately 5… minutes, according to my logs. During my scheduled appointment times, Dr. A likely routinely double- and triple-booked Medicaid patients within the same few minute period, which directly resulted in these extremely short visits. Five-minute encounters do not allow a meaningful opportunity to discuss symptoms, concerns, treatment options, or medication side effects. Regardless of billing justification, this visit length does not support safe or comprehensive psychiatric care. Care felt rushed and disorganized. Medication side effects were not discussed during visits. I only learned about them after independently requesting a medication fact sheet from my pharmacist. For psychiatric medications, this falls way below acceptable standards of patient education and informed consent. Dr. A prescribed high-dose medications that were ineffective, and at points damaging for me. After this initial failure, I independently reviewed evidence-based medicine alternatives and brought this information to my next monthly follow-up appointment, which was my first meeting in the 5 months i was with her to reach 10 minutes in length. Instead of engaging in a professional, collaborative discussion, I was spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner. My efforts to participate in my own care were inaccurately characterized as “using Google,” which was both inappropriate and untrue. To clarify the response I received: I did not request medication “on demand” or ask for a specific prescription. I requested time for discussion after an ineffective treatment. The medications I asked to discuss (Vyvanse and guanfacine) are well-established widely used options with low abuse potential. Reframing a request for shared decision-making as a demand is a manipulative misrepresentation of what happened. This environment did not feel focused, attentive, or safe. I have ADHD and anxiety, and this experience was discouraging enough that it nearly caused me to abandon treatment altogether. Patients with more severe psychiatric conditions may be especially vulnerable in this setting where time, respect, and dialogue are lacking. In contrast, the receptionist consistently showed professionalism, knowledge, and responsiveness. She appears to be the primary reason this practice functions in my opinion. I would not recommend this provider unless no other options are available. Montgomery County has multiple Medicaid accepting psychiatrists who provide attentive, respectful care. Teaching clinics with UMD and other DC universities offer full length visits, supervision, and genuine patient engagement, all of which were absent here. I am transferring my care and strongly encourage others to consider doing the same. Average visit length: approximately 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I would also like to mention this experience has given me billing compliance questions, as 5 minutes appointments are not typically reimbursed and our meetings were all of low complexity that do not require outside-of-meeting review.
10/10!!!! Love Dr. A. Best DNP ever. Extremely intelligent, empathetic, consistent, compassionate, and all while being extremely professional. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Been a pt for 6+ years and never had 1 bad… experience.
Psychiatrist seems disinterested & focused on typing on their computer. Not an inviting energy to express anything. People with certain traumas need a space to feel open but I haven't felt that safe space at all.
I did a treatment here. Dr. A is very knowledgeable and their services are good.
I am greatful for Dr. Asongtia Ntonghawah Her great experience with patient like me prescription medication are working and helping me to survive .Thank you so much I appreciate your great knowledge and expertise Mehri… Ghaderi 7- 21- 2025 😊

My first experience was great.
She was very kind and concern about my health situation.
Nice and affordable and easy!! Everyone there is nice and kind!!
We have been working with Dr. A for a couple of years and she always listens, takes time to address concerns and works with us to get things as well possible! Highly suggested!
Very happy with Dr. Ntonghawah. She is very caring and kind and makes herself available when needed.
Always prompt, helpful and professional!
I've been using their services for years after being referred by a cardiologist. Since the pandemic, having access to tele appointments has been wonderful and convenient! It can take a while to find the right meds or… combination of meds that work for you, but once you're able to identify that, the frequency of appointments and length of appointments does go down. At this point, it's relatively routine, painless, and convenient to maintain my prescriptions through tele-appointments. Dr. A listens to your concerns and isn't dismissive like some other doctors can be, which is really appreciated!
If I can give this place negative stars I would. They have a front desk who can barely speak or understand english of acts like it. She is rude and unprofessional. She was in the back room with no shoes in on facetime… when i walked in. nobody was at the front desk. It smelt so musky and rank when i walked in. I was there for a DNA test and called ahead of time. She had acted as if she had no clue or remembers speaking to me and I just called 20 minutes before I got there. She is no licensed to do DNA swab or testing and there no doctor or nurse on site. My DNA results were contaminated and going through court has been emotionally and mentally traumatizing. She didnt wash her hands before she did it, she did not have any of the proper things set up before she called me to the back, i had to remind her to put gloves on before she swabbed me. The phone ranged, she got up a walked out the room to answer the phone and type of the computer and then proceeded to finish my sample. I even asked her if she is supposed to do that and she was extremely RUDE and nonchalant and even tried to argue with me. There is a new girl that works there and when i spoke to her about the medspa she was very professional, nice, and gave me a lot of information. I didnt know it was Acess Medspa and Psych that does DNA testing too. I hope the new girl leaves this terrible place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR RESOURCES AT THIS PLACE.
Dr. Tongawa has been a great help! She makes sure that my prescriptions are always ready, and she calls to see how I’m doing. She is very kind, she listens and provides excellent service. I’m very happy to work with… her. I’d recommend her to everyone.
