Treatment Centers in Maryland That Accept Humana

Humana’s drug and alcohol rehab coverage in Maryland comes mainly through Medicare: HumanaChoice H5216-376, a PPO sold in select Maryland counties for 2026, pays for hospital stays, day programs, intensive outpatient and methadone clinic visits. Humana Military also administers TRICARE in the East Region for military families. Humana runs no Maryland Medicaid plan.

Each program below shows a phone number, a summary of its care (detox, residential beds, counseling or medication) and, if it has one, a CARF or Joint Commission credential. The details come from Maryland licensing records and government treatment registers. Pick a town or service and call the program to see if it takes your Humana plan.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Maryland?

Yes, for Marylanders on a Humana Medicare plan or TRICARE through Humana Military. Humana’s 2026 notice for HumanaChoice H5216-376 lists outpatient substance use therapy, opioid treatment program visits and inpatient psychiatric stays among covered services. Look for Humana-accepting rehab programs among the Maryland drug and alcohol rehabs here.

Nearly all of Humana’s revenue now comes from government programs, and in Maryland that means Medicare and military coverage. Humana Behavioral Health, once called LifeSynch and before that Corphealth, is its in-house behavioral unit. Humana Military remains the TRICARE East Region contractor under the contract that began January 1, 2025, with a family’s region set by its ZIP code.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Maryland?

Yes. In 2026 HumanaChoice H5216-376 charges a copay for each of the first six days in an inpatient psychiatric facility, then nothing through day 90. TRICARE covers urgent or planned inpatient substance use treatment and residential rehab programs for military families in the East Region, with residential stays authorized in advance.

How long will Humana pay for residential rehab?

Humana Medicare plans follow Medicare’s inpatient rules, so a member gets no more than 190 days in a stand-alone psychiatric hospital over a lifetime, while general hospital days are not counted. Part B outpatient therapy visits carry the plan’s copay each time. For TRICARE members, length depends on Humana Military’s authorization decisions rather than a published day count.

Does Humana need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Yes, for TRICARE: any planned psychiatric or addiction admission, and any residential center stay, needs Humana Military’s authorization in advance, online or at 800-444-5445. Humana Military assesses emergency admissions within 24 to 72 hours of arrival. For HumanaChoice members, the program should call Humana’s Medicare line, 800-457-4708, before admission.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Maryland?

Yes. TRICARE covers detox, which its benefit list calls withdrawal management, for military families, and Humana Military authorizes it in the East Region. Humana Medicare plans cover hospital-based detox programs as inpatient care under Part A, so the HumanaChoice daily copay for the first days of the stay applies.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Maryland?

Yes. HumanaChoice H5216-376 lowered its 2026 in-network copay for individual and group outpatient substance use therapy, whether at a specialist’s office, by video or in a hospital outpatient department. Medicare intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization at a hospital outpatient facility carry one flat per-visit copay on the same plan.

For TRICARE families in Maryland, Humana Military’s benefit covers partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient groups and buprenorphine prescribed in a doctor’s office. Spouses, children and retirees on TRICARE Prime rarely need a referral or pre-authorization to see an outpatient therapist, while service members start at a military clinic. Individual, family and group psychotherapy are all TRICARE benefits for these families.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. Medicare requires Humana’s plans to pay for methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone given at an enrolled opioid treatment program, and Part D may cover some as prescriptions. On the military side, TRICARE pays for medication treatment both at clinics and from office-based prescribers.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes. HumanaChoice H5216-376 lists opioid treatment program visits with a lower in-network copay for 2026 than in 2025, whether at a specialist’s office or a hospital outpatient department. Medicare MAT programs and methadone clinic treatment must be enrolled with Medicare to bill Humana. Counseling, drug testing and peer support at those programs are covered along with the medication itself.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes, through an opioid treatment program or a Part D drug list. Medicare includes buprenorphine among the opioid treatment program medications Humana plans must cover, and Medicare Suboxone programs can bill it there. TRICARE members can also get buprenorphine from an office-based prescriber, which TRICARE calls office-based opioid treatment, without visiting a clinic every day.

Does Humana cover naltrexone?

Yes. Naltrexone is one of the three opioid use disorder medications Medicare covers at opioid treatment programs, and Humana plans follow that rule. Vivitrol injection programs may also bill it as a provider-given drug. TRICARE lists medication-assisted treatment among covered substance use services for military families, naltrexone included.

Humana Rehab Centers Near the Ocean City Beaches, Deep Creek Lake and the Potomac

Humana Medicare coverage in Maryland depends on county, since HumanaChoice H5216-376 is sold in select counties only and a member must live in the service area. TRICARE eligibility under Humana Military follows ZIP code instead. Once enrolled, a member can use network programs anywhere in the plan’s network, whether by the ocean or in the mountains.

Humana rehab near the Ocean City beaches

Humana Medicare members living near Ocean City and Berlin in Worcester County can browse rehabs near the beach and treatment options in Ocean City. Whether HumanaChoice is sold in Worcester depends on the 2026 county list, so a quick call to Humana’s Medicare line settles it.

Humana rehab near Deep Creek Lake

Humana members drawn to Garrett County, where Deep Creek Lake sits among the Allegheny highlands near Oakland, can search rehab centers near lakes. Because HumanaChoice is a PPO, members can use non-network providers willing to see them, usually for more money, which matters in a rural county with few programs.

Humana rehab along the Potomac

Humana members in Washington County, in the narrow neck of western Maryland, live along the Potomac near Williamsport and Hancock. Rehab programs near rivers and downtown Hagerstown programs are close to the West Virginia and Pennsylvania lines, where Humana Military’s East Region also applies. Where HumanaChoice is sold, going outside the network costs members more.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Maryland?

Browse the listings on this page. Every listed program takes some form of Humana coverage. You can narrow the list by city and service, and each entry shows the phone line and accreditation. Medicare members want a program inside the HumanaChoice network, and TRICARE families want one that TRICARE has authorized.

How a Humana admission works in Maryland depends on the member’s Humana plan. For HumanaChoice, the member or program phones 800-457-4708, Humana’s Medicare customer line, about network status and authorization. For TRICARE families, programs send requests to Humana Military through its portal or 800-444-5445. The table lists the Humana lines Marylanders may hold in 2026.

Humana rehab in Annapolis and near Fort Meade

Humana Military’s TRICARE families in Anne Arundel County include households near Fort George G. Meade, where active duty members usually start care at the military clinic. Retirees and family members on TRICARE can use civilian rehab programs in Annapolis or Glen Burnie addiction care once Humana Military authorizes residential stays.

Humana rehab in Upper Marlboro and Prince George’s County

Humana Military serves TRICARE beneficiaries around Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, where residential treatment and nonemergency inpatient admissions need its prior authorization. Humana Military assesses intensive outpatient care within 24 to 72 hours after it starts, not beforehand. Aversion therapy and unproven methods are not TRICARE benefits. Upper Marlboro treatment programs and Largo rehab centers are nearby.

Humana rehab in Aberdeen and Harford County

Humana Military’s East Region covers TRICARE families connected to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County, and its behavioral health fax line, 877-378-2316, takes authorization paperwork from civilian programs. Families can compare treatment centers in Aberdeen with programs in Bel Air and across the Pennsylvania line, which sits inside the same TRICARE region.

Humana rehab in Baltimore

Whether a Baltimore address qualifies for HumanaChoice H5216-376 depends on the plan’s list of select counties, so members should give Humana their ZIP code. Members inside the service area can choose network or out-of-network programs among Baltimore rehab programs, paying more outside the network. Humana’s Find Care search shows which programs are in network.

Can I use Humana for rehab in a different state?

Yes, with limits. HumanaChoice is a PPO, so members can see out-of-network programs anywhere that are willing to treat them, though it costs more, though one 2026 Humana PPO plan document limits telehealth substance use visits to network providers. TRICARE coverage travels with the family, and Humana Military remains the contractor across its 24-state East Region and Washington, D.C.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Humana Medicare costs in Maryland are flat copays: HumanaChoice H5216-376 charges one per-visit amount for outpatient substance use therapy, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization in 2026, and a daily inpatient copay that stops after day six. An annual out-of-pocket maximum caps in-network spending. TRICARE costs depend on the family’s TRICARE option, such as Prime, rather than on Humana.

Some Humana Medicare Advantage plans nationwide end on December 31, 2026, and Humana had until October 2 to mail notices, so Maryland members should open any letter from Humana this fall. Medicaid rehab coverage and Medicare rehab programs are alternatives to compare.
