Sagent Behavioral Health – Eden Prairie

A huge shout-out to my amazing therapist, Wa C., and Susan D., who referred me to her. Both are highly professional and truly prioritize patient interests. Working with Wa has been deeply thought-provoking, healing, and… transformative. She helped me gain profound self-awareness and practical insights that led to visible improvements in my mood and life. It was a real struggle to find a therapist who resonates with me culturally and speaks Mandarin—allowing me to express my thoughts more smoothly in my native language—so I feel incredibly lucky to have found Wa. Minnesota definitely needs more Mandarin-speaking therapists to meet this demand!

(I wrote this review about Nystrom Counseling. It appears to have since been taken over by Sagent Behavioral Health.) This company has numerous horrible policies. Need a refill for a prescription? They will lose it… repeatedly. Need to get information to/from a doctor in an emergency situation? Sorry, they'll have a subordinate call you back later. Did you have all your health records sent to them? Never mind; they don't bother reading those. Avoid this company at all costs.

I have been very happy working with everyone I have encountered at the clinic. I feel like they have gone the extra mile in helping me.

I had a therapist from here for about a year. A few months ago she took a leave of absence. I only found out through the app by seeing all my future appointments were cancelled. I called the scheduling line and then… found out she had left. I got an email that she was leaving WEEKS after she had already cancelled all of our appointments. I then waited months until the time she had got back. I called the scheduling line again because I had not heard if she was back or not, as I got absolutely no notification. The scheduling line had informed me she was back for a little while and had no available appointments for a month. I then scheduled an appointment as soon as I could. A month later, I get no notification and find out last minute that she had cancelled the appointment. Along with this, there has been 18 cancelled appointments between the 2 of us and maybe 5 total were from my end. It is absolutely ridiculous.

I am having a wonderful experience with the program here. The therapists are very caring and compassionate. The educational curriculum is well planned and delivered. I am learning so many new things on a daily basis.… That makes for an exciting as well as healing journey.

I felt heard...

I was admittedly a little scared to take the leave of Faith and get the help that I needed, but thanks to my amazing fiancée and all the other supportive people that I have in my circle who gave me the final push I… needed, I am on the road to healing, and glad I am here to see another day and type this review! I absolutely love my psychiatrist and therapist. As someone who grew up in an environment where mental health really wasn’t talked about, it has been a truly eye-opening and life-changing experience coming to get help here in the short time that I’ve been coming. I will be eternally grateful to Almighty God for resources like this. To any of all Christians out there who might be reading, mental health is very important to keep in check. Not everything needs to be overly spiritualized, not everything can just be prayed away, God gives us these resources so that we can use them. This stigmatization of mental health services among religious circles needs to stop ASAP! We are hurting our own people more than helping. For the love of God and everybody around you, get some help! I recommend it for anybody, no matter how well off you think you are.

I’ve been seeing a psychiatrist here for over two years. This provider is not returning my calls for a medication refill (a mood stabilizer , which is dangerous to get off of cold turkey). Her nurse isn’t returning my… calls either and I’m currently going through medication withdrawals. This is unacceptable and very frustrating. And because it’s a weekend, they will not return my calls. I am disappointed and saddened by this. I had an appointment two weeks ago with my provider and she still didn’t fill my medication, and I’ve been having to take half doses up until recently running out of Vraylar completely.

Liz has helped me though some extremely difficult times, giving me tools to help navigate grief, breakups, boundaries, depression and anxiety. I'm so grateful!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! they are highly unprofessional. I have been going here for many years and I have been experiencing medical issues and medication symptoms I have developed for a very long time. I wanted to change my… meds I had kept asking to change them and I have been told no one changing anything and to just increase the doses of the medications I have been taking for so long now. I tried to get an emergent appointment for medication symptoms I had seen my psychiatrist a day before about and was told by the receptionist to see another provider I would have to do another intake and I was upset at the time, but I said it would be faster just to kill myself than to get emergent help she agreed and hung up. They do not care about your well-being you're just another number in the books. I had been a patient there for years I've tried everything they suggested and then after completing everything they started at the top of the list again like I hadn't done out sourcing in testing. They refused to give me 30 day prescriptions and only gave me 15 day ones for 2 years I got so frustrated. They had to have another doctor fill out the medication just to give me 30 days worth of medication. Then told me they never did that. Then why does the bottle say another doctors name on it. I came for help not to be gaslit. Edit: I went to another provider and was told by said provider my depression was clinically under treated.

I’ve been receiving services from Nystrom and Associates for many years. Their attention to your needs is always focused on, and I feel like their staff is well trained to handle any situation one might struggle with.… They are very open to the LGBTQ+ lifestyle, and I didn’t feel ostracized in any way. Each therapist has always been kind, considerate, respectful, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend you contact them at one of their many locations. Telehealth services are available as well.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough good things about Nystrom and Associates in Eden Prairie! I've only had two therapy appointments so far, but I'm already looking forward to scheduling my next ones. Heidi Bishop has been… absolutely wonderful! She creates a safe and supportive environment that makes it easy to open up about my feelings and experiences. I'm hopeful that our work together will help me navigate the challenges I'm facing. I also had a Rule 25 assessment with Julien Monroe, and she was fantastic! She was not only sweet but also incredibly efficient with her time. It was clear that she genuinely understood my situation and communicated everything in a way that made me feel comfortable and heard. I appreciate the variety of services they offer, including my upcoming telehealth appointment with an ARHMS worker. It's great to have multiple ways to connect, making it convenient to fit therapy into my busy schedule. Plus, having so many resources available in one place makes it easy to manage all my needs and appointments. Overall, I highly recommend Nystrom and Associates. The staff is caring, professional, and truly invested in helping their clients. I’m excited to continue my journey with them! Thanks! —Jerzee
