Go at least once a year for a physical, and on other occasions, and I have never had a single issue with St. Cloud. I am very satisfied with this organization.
Very helpful staff
The va experience is truly awful. Schedule appts for them to not have them. Never see the same provider. Never diagnose, just medicate. Make the phone system longer and harder to use.
Good except for a few very unprofessional employees. Be careful with them.
I have been going to this care center for many years and I always get the best treatment from my providers. I usually see a mid level but they are kind and respectful. I can’t think of another place that treats veterans… with this much respect and kindness.
Dual Diagnosis has made me a very unpleasant person at times and the VA has not given up on me even when I've felt like giving up on myself. There are a lot of life saving staff who make me feel supported when I need it.
I just got accepted for treatment for alcohol abuse, all staff members treated me with kindness, and respect cannot wait to share more on my recovery
Best place to go if need help. Great environment . Great people
It has really changed and everyone is friendly and helpful.
They quarantined me for about a week, ended up being for a common cold. Tested me for c.diff which I got in 2008, I tested positive on very low side. Lots of vets would test positive if you tested them. It colonizes in… the gut. I am asymptomatic. I had no other symptoms other than symptoms of cold and stress ibs because I have a jpouch, I couldn’t pass a test they need to “prove” I didn’t have it. So I was back in routine of classes which are really good by the way and they pulled my roommate, and put someone in with pos c diff. I thought he was active so I could get it easier since I had it before. But he was inactive as well. They had us eat in our rooms but could go everywhere else touch coffee pots, straws, go to gym where if we had spores we would have spread them. But we weren’t active or they would have never let us out. I finally stopped being upset when a very nice pretty nurse made a calendar for me so I could choose my meals like I was in chow hall. One of the head kitchen people if not the head kitchen person told me, “ you know this isn’t room service” so right then and there I decided not to eat their food. I didn’t for six days. I had crackers and boost at night to have enough to get by. During that time they let roommate go to chow hall but I could not because they asked something impossibly that I could never do for them. Then infectious people came down, like six or seven of them. They were hypocritical and “remorseful”. They weren’t when so many people advocated for me. One of them said do you want to kill an old man with cancer? I have as much chance as anyone to do that. I wash hands, never have problems with accidents. I was livid by then, I told them I was leaving and they wanted me to stay to work something out. I lost my trust in the system and was treated with little respect by a few and certainly by a big group by the top level who didn’t come down until final hour. There are good people there and amazing classes. But like they taught us in class, one moldy strawberry can ruin the whole package. I learned lots of lessons in there. My fellow vets are heroes even when struggling and the system cares about you like they did when we served. I’m done with the system. Thanks Sarah, Amanda,Chad, Robert and Gary. Good luck when you go. I think some have good case workers and experiences. I did not have either.
It’s a decent place lots going on always and people coming and going appeared to be clean and the food in cafeteria was absolutely great!! The doctors are mostly new but most are educated and detailed with their… patients and never seemed to have issues scheduling appointments. Great job VA Hospital
Love the providers here - I've received nothing but top notch care since I retied from the military.
At cloud is one of the best VAs in the nation
No concern that I'm disabled
I drive over 2 hours to come to the St.Cloud VA. Its one of the best in the country. The RRTP treatment program for Veterans is one of the best in the Nation. 2nd to None.
Good staff and volunteers. Very nice and helpful.
Trust them wthh all my health, they know my name and I am not treated as a number.
The dental services are top notch! Better than any civilian dentist I've been to.
Excellent staff helped us visit a friend since not from St. Cloud and directions to hotel.
Veterans deserve protection from this kind of abuse. My experience with Dr. Karen Ashby at the St. Cloud VA has been deeply traumatic, invasive, and harmful — not only to me, but to others around me. I have never… received mental health care from the VA and have never consented to it. Despite this, Dr. Ashby accessed my records without my permission or any valid medical reason, and entered false, misleading, and damaging statements into my medical file. What’s worse, her involvement has not been limited to just unauthorized documentation. Dr. Ashby’s actions spilled into my personal life, resulting in harassment of my landlords, my employer, and myself. Her conduct has gone far beyond the walls of the clinic — it has affected my housing stability, my employment, and my daily peace of mind. I have made it explicitly clear to the VA that I do not want any involvement with mental health services, yet Dr. Ashby continued to involve herself in my records and life without justification. I never authorized this. Her continued contact — both direct and indirect — has left me feeling violated, retraumatized, and emotionally destabilized. The mental anguish I’ve suffered from this situation is real and ongoing. I’ve experienced panic, sleepless nights, and extreme anxiety over what has been written about me, how it’s been shared, and what it could mean for my future. My trust in the VA is completely shattered. I’ve reached out to the patient advocate and the privacy officer — both refused to help. Nothing has been done to correct or remove the falsehoods. The internal mechanisms have failed to protect me from what I can only describe as a campaign of harassment, retaliation, and abuse of authority. No veteran should ever have to go through this. If you are a veteran considering mental health services at the St. Cloud VA — or even if you aren’t — be extremely careful. Your privacy, dignity, and well-being may not be safe here
The Docs and Nurses are excellent! They actually care and want to help.
I jabent had too much of an issue with the VA here but just a few minutes ago I just had an appt line gal cut me off mid sentence and hang up on me. Not fricken happy at all!!!! I was giving them a courtesy call of a… family emergency and that I was running late and got hung up on. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable!!! I'd like this followed up on!
I have been so impressed with the level of care for my dad since we started coming here last January. Even though they are big, he ISN’T just a number like he thought. We visited urgent care today (May 2025) and they… were spectacular. Thank you for understanding him and myself and being patient and kind. Always feel like they take their time and talk to us. Thanks again!!
