Treatment Centers in New Mexico That Accept Humana

Humana covers drug and alcohol rehab in New Mexico through Medicare: Medicare Advantage plans sold by ZIP code, prescription drug plans and Humana Together in Health, a special needs plan for people living in long-term care facilities. Humana sells no employer, Medicaid or TRICARE coverage in the state.

The facilities shown on this page come from government treatment registers and New Mexico licensing records. Listings give each program’s phone number, the levels of care it provides and Joint Commission or CARF accreditation where held. Narrow the listings below by city or level of care to find programs that list Humana.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes, for Humana Medicare members. Humana Medicare Advantage plans must cover at least what Original Medicare covers, which includes inpatient care in a general or psychiatric hospital and outpatient therapy, counseling and partial hospitalization. Humana has licensed Medicare agents in Albuquerque, and plans for Old Town Albuquerque programs are shown by ZIP code.

Humana’s New Mexico business is almost entirely Medicare coverage. Humana left employer group commercial medical plans after its February 2023 announcement, it holds no Turquoise Care contract, and New Mexico’s TRICARE region is run by TriWest rather than Humana Military. Humana did offer at least one Medicare plan type in all 50 states in 2025.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes. Medicare Part A, which Humana Medicare Advantage plans must match, covers inpatient mental health and substance use care in a general or psychiatric hospital. One 2026 Humana Gold Plus plan in San Antonio, Texas lists inpatient mental health, partial hospitalization and outpatient substance use services among its benefits, and Medicare inpatient rehab programs bill on those terms.

How long will Humana pay for inpatient rehab in New Mexico?

Humana Medicare plans follow Medicare’s inpatient structure, which includes a 190-day lifetime limit on care in freestanding psychiatric hospitals; general hospital psychiatric units do not count toward it. Humana plans usually charge a per-day copay for the first days of an inpatient stay up to an annual out-of-pocket maximum, with amounts that differ by plan and county.

Does Humana cover partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient?

Yes. Medicare Part B covers partial hospitalization when it is medically necessary, and the 2026 San Antonio Gold Plus plan lists both partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services with their own copays. Medicare PHP programs and Medicare IOP programs in New Mexico appear in the listings.

Does Humana Cover Detox in New Mexico?

Yes, when withdrawal care is delivered as covered hospital or outpatient treatment under Medicare rules. Medicare Advantage plans must cover what Parts A and B cover, so medically necessary inpatient withdrawal care falls under the hospital benefit. Medicare detox programs confirm with Humana which level of care a plan pays.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes. Medicare Part B covers outpatient therapy, counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management and family counseling when it is part of treatment. Humana says some Medicare Advantage plans offer mental health telehealth at no extra cost and others charge a copay, which shapes Medicare telehealth programs for rural members.

Medicare-covered outpatient clinicians include psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Humana found no outpatient therapy visit cap in the Medicare sources it publishes, and Medicare outpatient rehab programs bill per visit under each plan’s copay.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in New Mexico?

Yes. Methadone for opioid use disorder is delivered through opioid treatment programs, which Humana Medicare Advantage plan documents list as a covered service. Medicare covers methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone there with counseling and drug testing, and Medicare MAT programs bill that benefit rather than the pharmacy.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes, through Medicare-enrolled opioid treatment programs. One 2026 Florida CarePlus plan owned by Humana moved opioid treatment services to a zero copay, while other Humana plans charge one, so the cost varies. Methadone dosing clinics in New Mexico are regulated by the state Behavioral Health Services Division.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes. Buprenorphine is covered at opioid treatment programs under Medicare, and Part D plans may also cover it at the pharmacy depending on the formulary. Medicare Suboxone programs and office-based prescribers check the Humana drug list for the member’s plan year, since tiers and limits differ between plans.

Does Humana cover medications for mental health conditions?

Yes. Humana notes that Part D plans must cover antidepressants, anticonvulsants and antipsychotics, with limited exceptions, which matters for members treated for a mental health condition alongside substance use. Humana’s own behavioral health unit, Humana Behavioral Health, formerly LifeSynch, lists behavioral pharmacy services among the things it provides.

Humana Rehab Centers by New Mexico Hot Springs, Lakes and the Mesilla Valley

Medicare members across New Mexico treatment programs carry the same Humana rules into any setting, but plan availability is set by county. A Humana plan sold in one county may not be sold in the next, so the member’s address, not the program’s scenery, decides which Humana plan applies.

Humana rehab near hot springs

Hot springs settings center on Truth or Consequences in Sierra County and the Faywood area east of Silver City in Grant County. Hot springs rehab settings serve Medicare members under the same Part A and Part B rules, and Humana’s per-day inpatient copays apply wherever the stay happens.

Humana rehab near lakes

Lake settings include Elephant Butte and Caballo lakes on the Rio Grande in Sierra County and Conchas Lake northwest of Tucumcari in San Miguel County. Lakeside rehab programs and Tucumcari treatment options are rural, so telehealth rules on the member’s Humana plan carry weight.

Humana rehab in the Mesilla Valley desert

Desert settings in the Mesilla Valley run from Las Cruces and Mesilla south to Anthony and Sunland Park in Doña Ana County. Chihuahuan Desert rehabs and Mesilla treatment programs accept Medicare plans county by county, and members with Medicaid as well must also join a Turquoise Care plan.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in New Mexico?

Browse the listings on this page. Each program shown names Humana among accepted insurance, and filters narrow by city, level of care and substance. Listings carry the facility’s phone number, so the program can tell a caller how it bills Medicare, and rehabs that accept Humana across the country share one page.

Admission with a Humana Medicare plan starts with the program’s assessment and any authorization the member’s plan requires, which the Evidence of Coverage sets out. Humana Medicare Customer Care at 800-457-4708 (TTY 711) explains benefits, every day from October through March and on weekdays from April through September, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Humana rehab in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho

Albuquerque is where Humana’s New Mexico Medicare sales presence shows most clearly: Humana MarketPoint lists licensed Medicare agents in the city who handle Medicare Advantage, drug and supplement plans. Members near Rio Rancho treatment programs use the same Humana customer care line for benefit questions before an admission.

Humana rehab in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County

Las Cruces members who have both Medicare and Medicaid must enroll in a Turquoise Care plan for their Medicaid side, and Medicare Part D covers most of their drugs. A Humana Medicare Advantage plan then pays first for covered rehab, which is how Las Cruces drug rehabs bill dual-eligible members.

Humana rehab for long-term care residents

Residents of New Mexico long-term care facilities can enroll in Humana Together in Health, a PPO institutional special needs plan, H5216-444, listed for New Mexico for 2026. New Mexico requires Medicaid members who meet nursing facility level of care to join managed care, so facility residents in Santa Fe rehab centers may hold both.

Humana rehab in Clovis, Alamogordo and military communities

Military families in Clovis and Alamogordo should not expect Humana Military on their TRICARE card: New Mexico falls in the TRICARE West Region, run by TriWest Healthcare Alliance at 888-874-9378, while Humana Military holds the East Region. Retirees there with Medicare can still choose a Humana plan, as can those near Clovis rehab programs.

Can I use Humana for rehab outside New Mexico?

Sometimes, depending on the plan type. A 2024 North Carolina Humana Gold Plus HMO-POS plan let members use some non-network providers at a higher copay, and a 2026 Michigan Humana PPO lets members see non-contracted providers who agree to treat them, though its telehealth mental health and substance use visits are in-network only.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Costs follow the member’s plan and county. Humana Medicare Advantage plans mostly use flat copays per visit, per-day copays for the first days of an inpatient stay and an annual in-network out-of-pocket maximum. Humana is not renewing some Medicare Advantage plans for 2027; it sent notices by October 2, 2026, and coverage in those plans ends December 31, 2026.

Humana is one of several Medicare routes in New Mexico. Members whose Humana plan ends after 2026 can look at Medicare residential rehab under another plan, and people with limited income may qualify for Turquoise Care or state-funded MAT. Listings show every payment option a program accepts.
