Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare – Yulee Detox and Rehab Services
Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare – Yulee carries a listing for intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare – Yulee Address, Location and Contact Information
463142 State Road 200, Yulee, Florida, 32097 is the address held. The city lies within Nassau County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

Very very upset and frustrated with the Callahan office. My husband was finally ready to get the mental health he needs. We went in for an initial evaluation as we were told it was walk in only after trying to make an… appointment. When we got there we were told the whole process would take about 2 hours. However we were left in the waiting room for 4 hours with out any updates. When we asked the front desk for ETA we were told they did not know how much longer. After 4 hours of waiting we ended up leaving with out any help for my husband. This is very worrisome for anyone in a mental health crisis and dangerous. We will not be returning.
Rudest people you'll ever meet in your life. Would never refer anyone here. So unprofessional. Will remove this company from my donation lists moving forward. If this is how you treat people, I want no part in that.
Tried that
I have tried several times to get ahold of anyone and the phone just hangs up. Thinking this place isn't a place I want to try based on other reviews. Kind of scary.
If I could give them no star, I would I first went there and got my first therapist Cynthia. She was great second therapist Barry. He made me question life every appointment.. made me hate talking so I left thankfully… he is gone too, now even trying to get back in with them and intake has been a complete nightmare they are so understaffed they don’t know how to schedule their workers get it together please people are coming to you for help and getting stonewall.
I’ve been calling all day to pre register, and nobody ever picks up the phone. The greeting says there’s also a place you can pre register on their website, but there’s not. Big help y’all are!
Ive called 10 times to schedule an appointment and they legit pick up then hang up they say nothing to me they just immediately hang up after answering but i could hear them talking to other employees laughing so i kept… calling back and still got hung up on every time
I thought this was a good place. They won't renew my medication until 2 months after I'm out. Why stay on them and go thru the misery? I'll just do me and raw dawg life again. They obviously don't care. Keep not helping… people, that's what you're good at. Good job......
They twisted my words (“ I wish I could go to sleep and never wake up”) and sent me to Shands under some mental health treatment that were absolutely deplorable! I was out within 13 hours! I only needed medication! I… would never recommend this facility!
My son did an intake at the Yulee location. The office staff are not helpful whatsoever. I brought him there at 8:30 in the morning and he was not actually “assessed” until 1:30 in the afternoon. They do not tell you… the process or how long it will take. We were told at one point at 12 after waiting nearly 4 hours, you’ll need to come back at one. I inquired about being able to contact the office via phone and the checkout person (blonde) mid 30s turn around and says “we get 600 calls a day,” I guess that’s a no, then? I then ask when do they think he will be assessed, keep in mind we have been there nearly 4 hours, in the lobby as it heats up like an oven sane girl says “we’re down 2 assessors.” Basically stop bothering us.i said “I’m just trying to understand your process here.” No response. We come back at 1:00 and I ask “is this now considered an appointment since you asked us to be here at 1:00? The check in girl now says “the assessors will get up you when they are free.” She didn’t respond to my question and they do not explain anything unless prompted. Consider asking the staff to be clear about waiting period and staffing challenges. Also- stating you get 600 calls a day and simply not answering the question is rude.
Staff is not efficient to patience needs especially when it comes to medication when you have your pharmacist send a pre authorization in to have them get with the doctor to approve it, it takes them days when it should… be taken as s they get it and not a week later and now dealing with them telling me that they will call me the same say and don't, now have to wait till Monday because the doctor is not in and they are closed on Friday. My prescription runs out on that day
Just another false promise in the broken health care system.
Starting point has helped me a lot. They genuinely care about people.
Great Cust Service, Awesome Staff
I have been a patient here three times, the first two times both concluding when my therapist felt I had the tools I needed. I used to not be ashamed to admit it until seeing what it's become now, the first two times… were great, everyone so pleasant, helpful, kind, and really seemed to care. The third time I came back however it was completely different, after hearing how my husband had trouble getting ahold of them for appointments, or scheduling, I expressed this concern with the nurse when I made my return trip she gave me her number and with her extension, this made me feel better about the whole situation until the day of my appointment which was using Telehelp. Never received the link, never received a call like I used to if I wasn't there for my appointment due to links being missed, or not sent out. I called both the main line and the nurse's extension multiple times, left multiple messages, never heard anything back, still haven't. It just shows how little they care. All of the above is bad to me but even WORSE my husband went to this place too, he got very uncomfortable with with his psychiatrist by the name of Richard Vowles and when they expressed this with them they refused to let him change doctors without first CONFRONTING the one he felt uncomfortable with in a MENTAL HEALTH FACILTIY. Inconclusion read the reviews, I used to refer this place to everyone I cared about and now I'd hesitate to even refer people I hate to this place, as I have standards even for people I hate unlike this place which seems to have no standards.
i wasn’t even a patient here but i was trying to become one. i went there today at 1pm to enroll and the cut off is 2pm the lady at the counter refused to enroll me and she said i was “too late the cut off is 2pm” even… though it was literally 1pm. i left crying and felt hopeless. they need to care more and do their job better.
They are awesome...they are overworked/overwhelmed.
Quite often they're understaffed, But it took me a long time to let my disease grow; much longer than the wait I had to wait there. The wait was worth it. They hooked me up with everybody I needed to see!!
Staff was nice and professional for this area .
My therapist is great but the scheduling team either needs more help or they need a new system. I had to reschedule my virtual appointment because they had no rooms available for me. I bring my infant with me to my… appointments so I always show up on time and call beforehand to make sure my appointment is confirmed. I tried to call twice about this appointment, once last week and again today and no one answered the phone and they have no voicemail set up. When I brought up my concerns they didn't apologize or take responsibility for not being able to provide me with a room for my appointment. They blamed my therapist and being understaffed. I understand that these things happen but they couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen again. Now I'm having to find a new place to have my virtual therapy appointments because I can't rely on the actual building to have rooms available at my appointment time.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with any of the therapists or professionals other than the intake. They were very thorough at intake and set me up with a few appointments. They also set me up with a group via… Zoom but never sent the Zoom link or log in details, I’ve missed two weeks and they did not return my call asking for this info. You cannot get ahold of ANYONE. I just called and had to leave a voicemail to cancel any scheduled appointments with them because they have a fee for no show appointments and who knows if they even check their voicemail cause they sure as hell don’t call you back to let you know. I am very disappointed because I wanted help and they seemed like they really wanted to help but how is it any help if they don’t communicate with you!
If you really need mental health go somewhere else... they take forever to get you into a therapist 🙄 How can mental health HELP wait? Read the reviews on this place I feel like its a scam. Hopefully someone responds… back to reassure me they can even help my family....
Horrible communication
Did not care or treat patient correctly. Had to take my kid to be baker acted. We are elsewhere where she has been able to be medically treated not just patty cake sit down and talk. Also they do not answer phones or… call back. I called after to inform them of what happened and they never called back, they show they do not care about the patients. It was a death situation and they didn’t even follow up on the condition.
Horrible experience. Had a counseling appt (virtual) after having to wait a month between appointments. The zoom link didn’t work and I was not able to access my appointment. Sent a message to office and have not heard… anything back. They simply do not care about you or your well being. Don’t waste your time.
