I cannot say enough wonderful things about this behavioral health center and the care our loved one received. From the very beginning, we felt that he was truly being cared for, supported, and treated with compassion.… The communication with our family was exceptional. Inaldo, the nurse practitioner, consistently kept us updated on everything that was happening, answered our questions, returned our calls, and made sure we understood what was going on throughout the stabilization process. Knowing that our loved one was in a place where the team was genuinely focused on getting him fully stabilized gave our family so much comfort during an incredibly difficult time. A special thank you to Inaldo, who was absolutely amazing, as well as Vanessa, the nurse, and everyone else on the team. Each person we interacted with was kind, patient, professional, and compassionate. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did for our loved one and for our entire family. Mental health crises are extremely difficult for everyone involved, and having a team that communicates, listens, and truly cares makes such a difference. Thank you to everyone at the center for the care and support you provided. We will always be grateful.

If I could give it negative stars I would. It is the worst place in the world. My mother was under the Baker Act and taken to Fair Oaks Pavilion. She might as well have been in prison. That is how they are treated. They… have no rights and they do not care for them with any dignity. They also falsify reports to get the patients released. They said my mother has been eating all her meals with was not true. She barely ate anything. They never notified us that her Bakers Act expired at 12 noon until 4:30 PM on a Friday afternoon. They never told my mom that either. She is free to go yet she is too mentally ill to come home. They say she no longer meets the requirements. No body at home can take care of her so what are we supposed to do. The case worker there doesn’t answer his phone so you leave voice messages and he doesn’t return those until It’s too late in the day to do anything. This place is a complete nightmare. Stay as far away from this place as possible!!! Worst experience of my life.

The food is absolutely appalling. I wouldn't feed the food to my dog. The food gave me diarrhea and acid reflux after ever meal. I was also vomiting after almost every meal. I made a complaint to a nurse and she just… coldly said "this ain't no 5 star restaurant, be glad you even get food". I would have rather eaten dog food than that. Absolutely disgusting

This review is for the amazing Dr. KLAPPER and staff. Huge shout out to nurse Andrea Medoff (she is so warm, friendly and phenomenal). Im truly grateful for the care we received from Dr. Klapper during my little girl… hospital stay and at the wound treatment center. He was truly amazing. There was another lady with him I wish I had gotten her name. She is always phenomenal (I wish you the very best in your career). Isabella and I are truly grateful for all of you. Thank you for everything

I can only speak for myself,, I never experienced anything like this place before never been in a mental hospital before so I don’t know the grad scale, but the Ex military guy (I wish I remembered his name) was very… compassionate to my situation. I could see that he really cared, I salute anyone that’s in that field of work from seeing it firsthand it’s a tough job. The doctor who saw me Edrudo I think, is his name was polite understanding and sympathetic. I’ll never go back to a place like that again.. Being in there revealed to me that it’s important to raise your kids or the system will (their way) They care at the place but you have to want change,, not just drugs..

I wish I could give a negative star review but unfortunately I can't. This is SUPPOSEDLY a psychiatric facility to help those in crisis, yet when I was literally RIPPED OUT OF MY HOUSE, VIOLENTLY (2 days after I… sustained severe bruising to my lower 4 left ribs, AND I USE A HAND CRUTCH TO WALK DUE TO HAVING one of the most painful chronic pain conditions known, CRPS, which I ALSO explained, calmly to the ridiculously rude and twice my size (I am 5'5" and 108 lbs.) Deputy sheriff's as they handcuffed me as if I was a violent criminal, and also accused me of possibly 'resisting' 😱😱, resisting what? I wasn't being arrested? Resisting more pain and possible internal bleeding as I also suffer from Hemophilia A, so reinjuring my ribs could possibly cause massive internal bleeding, is that ACTUALLY resisting? I spent 4 days freezing at Fair Oaks (the heat was NEVER TURNED ON DURING A WEEK WHEN TEMPERATURES DIPPED BELOW 45 DEGREES AT NIGHT!) As a pescatarian, I was given 3 meals a day with ZERO PROTEIN (Again, I will reiterate that my weight is already lower than it should be and I ended up losing 5 pounds while I was there! Now that's some really amazing therapy! Especially when I am in recovery from anorexia!) I saw the psychiatrist ONCE, the day prior to my discharge for less than 5 minutes (I am not quite sure how ANY DECENT DOCTOR COULD FEEL CERTAIN ABOUT MAKING A DIAGNOSIS BASED ON A 5 MINUTE CONVERSATION! AND THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS SO FAR OFF! I have been under psychiatric care for decades, as well as spending years in some of the best treatment centers in the United States and doing hours of psychiatric testing, NEVER ONCE have I been diagnosed with Bipolar 1! In fact, I was once accidentally medicated with a common Bipolar medication and it had the opposite effect, proving that I am FAR FROM BIPOLAR! Regardless, how can any decent doctor make a diagnosis without at least asking the basic questions from the DSM-V which are the criteria for Bipolar 1. I know this because I worked as a behavioral tech AND went to nursing school). There were no groups, no books to read, no games to play, ABSOLUTELY ZERO TO keep anyone from being extremely anxious. The nurses weren't fit to be in a psychiatric unit as they didn't want to be bothered, spoken with or even help when I would wake up from nightmares, sleepwalking or simply depressed and needing someone to talk with (After all, wasn't that WHY I WAS THERE?) Instead, the nursing staff simply attempted to frustrate and ignore all of the patient's needs UNLESS IT WAS A CONVENIENT TIME FOR THEM!) And all but 2 behavioral techs (tysm, Mari for being outstanding as a behavioral tech and ALWAYS being available to listen and help out! You're a SUPERSTAR I WILL NEVER FORGET!) Ultimately, Fair Oaks should either be shut down or changed COMPLETELY! My opinion is that I would have done better in county jail for 4 days than at Fair Oaks. Another side note: They actually suggested that I stop taking my hormone replacement therapy without EVEN KNOWING WHY I'M ON IT! AS WELL AS MY NARCOLEPSY MEDICATION, AGAIN, WITHOUT EVER ASKING ME WHY I AM TAKING IT! THESE PEOPLE ARE MORE DANGEROUS THAN I COULD EVER HAVE BEEN TO MYSELF! PLEASE, PLEASE, THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO "BAKER ACT" ANYONE WHO WOULD END UP HERE! Btw, they also charge over $10k a day to be simply put on a hospital wing with no decent food, beds, showers, or medical staff and attention. That bill is going all the way to the bottom of my pile!

If there was a Zero, that is what I would rate this facility. The most HORRIFIC experience in my life. The staff and setting were appalling. They were unable to provide the most basic care. They were inhumane. Socks… were a luxury. A patient requested 911 for chest pain and when 911 arrived they refused the patient to leave. He was taken off the strecther and was told he would be seen by a doctor which he was NOT!!!! The staff was unempathetic, lazy and most of all dismissive. They sit behind the plastic barrier and ignore 99 percent of requests and questions. If you are required to go their by law I can only say GOD BE WITHT YOU!!!!

They suck. I was able to do self harm, throw chairs during recovery from hallucinations and delusional thoughts from delta 8. I scared people and patients. Even visitors witness me out of control. I was able to get away… with my aggressive behaviors that were never addressed. Shame on this hospital. Needs to change or close down. I went to a different hospital and they helped me. Delray fair oaks adult. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm not ashamed of me. I had a problem and it wasn't addressed.

Don't worry the Netflix series that's out now will reveal what these places are all about for Gen X kids. We were trapped and had zero rights. Doctors lied to my mother until insurance ran out and all of a sudden I was… cured. I still have nightmares about this place. Fed meds and if refused the straight jacket and the doctor strong button was pushed and then thorazine was injected by force. There are many stories just like this. My bad behavior was learned by my parents. I wasn't a bad kid. I had abusive parents.

I am currently receiving out-patient treatment at the ECT suite of the Fair Oaks Pavillion, Delray Medical Center. I must say that the expertise and professionalism of the staff that work in the ECT Suite is "World… Class." Everyone is very caring and interested in helping me progress with this therapy. If it wasn't for this support from the staff, I do not believe I would have made it this far with my treatments. The coordinator of the Program, Myrlande Banica, is an outstanding Nurse, in my opinion. Her bedside manner is very reassuring and comforting, which is an important factor with this type of treatment. I cannot say enough about Ms. Banica. There is a lot to do in the ECT unit from what I am able to observe, but it operates like a well-oiled machine. Ms. Banica and her colleagues in the unit, including Nurse Sareen, Nurse Jen, and Kevin, are part of a team whose top priority is always the medical care and comfort of patients such as myself. I must also recognize the physician who administers the treatment to patients.....Dr. Caseen. I have a high degree of confidence that when Dr. Caseen is administering my treatment, I am in good hands. Finally, I want to express my appreciation to the Medical Director, Dr Amanda Darling, for accepting me as an out-patient. If you are looking for a safe and effective treatment for your disorder, look no further than Fair Oaks Pavillion (ECT) and their exceptional staff. I have had hospital stays for other health issues in my life, but I have never experienced this level of care. Seeking help at this facility is one of the best decisions I have made.

Fair oaks should be called horrific oaks. I went there volunterrly and it was horrible. I went there for mental health and I only saw a psychiatrist twice in my two weeks stay. Food was inedible and it was freezing… beyond belief . Nobody cared about the patients and I would recommend somewhere else.... trust me

No therapy or help at all. Had 1 or 2 contacts with a therapist, one a 30 second conversation and one 10 minute group that kept getting interrupted. Saw the psychiatrist once for less than a minute. The redeeming part… was the easy going, total hands off approach by the employees - basically they did nothing. We were able to be care free, therapize ourselves in our own support group and have worry free fun. Call me crazy, pun intended, but I’d love to go back.

(TRIGGER WARNING) I’m going to be sharing my own experience in hopes that the ones who are lucky enough to read through this before sending your family/loved ones to this place - this is a prison. This is not where you… want help. DO NOT COME HERE AND DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE/CARE ABOUT HERE I was admitted on May 27th 2024 for help with my PMDD (pre menstrual dysphoric disorder) I am not bipolar, schizophrenic, or dealing with a major mental health issue, I just have a chemical imbalance in my brain that makes me cry a lot and I was seeking help (obviously in the wrong place but I didn’t know it yet) When I went in, I had paperwork shoved in my face, multiple officers/security behind me to make sure I signed my rights away. I was terrified and alone, but that was only the beginning. I was in Unit 1 during my stay and let me just say… the lack of consideration, respect, and safety from the staff there was unbelievable. The way I heard staff speak to patients was horrific and unacceptable. I don’t exactly remember what I asked but I believe it had something to do with when I would be able to speak to a doctor or case worker because I was so upset and isolation was only making it worse. The two front desk staff told me (and I quote) “you’re not getting out of here anytime soon, could be weeks, could be months, could be years, you’re not going anywhere” I absolutely lost it in my head and filled with panic. I don’t condone my behavior but at the same time it was antagonized by the staff - I tried to run for a door and make it though one before they locked the second - I had busted my lip and got a black eye from when I hit the door, they laughed at me and stared at me while I cried on the floor. (This is where the trigger warning comes in) !!!!!!! Unfortunately due to the adrenaline rush my period had come in full force and I was heavily bleeding, they grabbed me and threw me into an isolation room that looked almost like a prison cell, there was a white bed, a thin sheet with a pillow, and scratches all over the walls as if a bear was trying to escape. They pulled my pants down, gave me two sedative shots in the butt, I remember staring up at the ceiling and seeing bright light and then I crashed, when I woke up I was in a pool of my own blood from my mouth and my uterus, they left me like that and stared at me through a window. I have never felt so inhumane in my entire life - I saw Dr. Elssy Oms who does not care for her patients whatsoever, she just wants to get the information and move on, if I tried to explain myself she threatened to add more time (everyone threatened me to add more time I felt like I couldn’t say a single word) due to this incident it has caused sleepless nights filled with nightmares when I can sleep for a few hours. I am making sure that those people are held responsible for the way they treat patients, I will continue to harass you like you harassed me. WHEN THEY GO LOW - I GO LOWER - anytime I tried to get a supervisors name or the names of staff in the office I was hung up on - so I went in person and tried to get info, I will continue to show up until things are changed/this place gets shut down for gross negligence- DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE IT IS A PRISON
