Sage Recovery Villa – Manor Reviews and Ratings

Horribly intake! Spent 45 mins on the phone for nothing.
Sage really saved me when I was at rock bottom. The holistic approach, amenities and living spaces are wonderful. It’s a small group too which I liked since you get a much more personalized experience. When I arrived… there were only 8 residents and when I left there were 15 which is maximum capacity. What sets Sage apart from other treatment centers is the therapeutic reset as a whole, not just for sobriety. They help you get to the root cause of your struggles and instill skills through DBT therapy, IFS, Art, Music, Meditation, outdoor exploration, breath work and grounding exercises, among many others. The food is phenomenal! All adaptable to everyone’s diet, organic and fresh. The chef Abby is so warm and loving, she’s like the mom of the house. The grounds are beautiful and they have yoga/mediatation/sound baths run by the lovely and ethereal Chelsea. Acupuncture is once per week and it is only in the ears, not sure if it specifies online. The techs/staff are truly wonderful. Kimbra, Emma, Michael, Georgie, Abby, Brian, Chris, Bryce, Vinny, Lyla, etc. I could go on and on! You form a very close bond with them along the way. The villa has premium accommodations and offers excellent privacy. I lucked out and received the room that has a sauna. It is not for general use for others unless approved by staff supervision. Just a heads up since it does not specify in the general info. The pool and hot tub are great. Only complaint is they were understaffed during my 60 day residential stay but I know they were hiring more when I left. It is a tough job and the dedication the staff puts in is unparalleled. I am enrolled in IOP, attend alumni and honestly hope to put in service to work there someday. They are VERY strict on technology use, we only watch a pre-approved movie twice a week and no phones except for 2 short calls per week that are supervised. That aside, I couldn’t have asked for a better wellness journey! I still am connected to those from Sage and know I have built not only lifelong friends but a life worth living.
I received excellent care here in the inpatient and PHP programs. Shae is an incredible case manager. Hava was an excellent therapist who was supportive and challenging. All of the group leaders were great, including… the interns. I especially enjoyed working with Stephen, Leslie and Michelle. Equine therapy was so nice. Yoga and meditation were fantastic, and singing bowls were a joy. I came in for MDD, in the worst mental space of my life. After five weeks I regained my confidence, self respect, and zest for life. I’m so grateful for everyone at Sage Villa, they saved my life. I also had some great techs, McKenna was fantastic. Communication was not always clear but overall I had a great experience.
A world-class sanctuary for complete transformation I’ve stayed at high-end retreats before, but nothing compares to the level of care, privacy, and intentionality here. This isn’t simply a treatment center — it’s an… immersive, highly personalized environment designed for deep psychological, emotional, and physical reset. From the moment I arrived, everything felt discreet, seamless, and quietly luxurious. The staff operates with the precision of a five-star hotel and the compassion of a world-class therapeutic team. You aren’t “processed” — you are welcomed, stabilized, and genuinely understood. The accommodations feel closer to a private villa than a medical facility: oversized suites, breathtaking surroundings, custom wellness menus, and a level of comfort that makes healing actually feel possible. Even small touches — like soundscapes, curated nutrition, aromatherapy, and handwritten check-ins — communicate that your wellbeing is being guarded on every level. What set this experience apart for me was the depth of therapy. Sessions aren’t rushed or formulaic; they are crafted around your story and your patterns, not generic worksheets. Modalities aren’t just offered — they are integrated: clinical therapy, trauma-informed approaches, somatic work, spiritual recalibration, physical restoration, and emotional rewiring all braided into one cohesive process. It’s clear that this center isn’t selling sobriety — it’s cultivating wholeness. And that distinction is everything. I left not just detoxed or “stabilized,” but re-centered — with a clarity I didn’t know I was capable of having again. I felt seen at a human level, supported at a psychological level, and cared for at a standard most places don’t even aspire to. For anyone in a position to invest in themselves at the highest level, there is no comparison. This is the gold standard of rehabilitation — private, restorative, meticulous, and truly life-altering. P.S.A. just gratitude
When I got to Sage, I was a mess. I didn’t know what to expect, but the people who work there — they gave me hope again. The staff are the kindest souls I ever met. They treat you like you matter, even when you don’t… feel like you do. The techs always checked on me, talked to me when I was crying, and never made me feel small. The kitchen folks cooked with love, and the food was so good it felt like home. They even gave me recipes when I liked something. The yoga lady, Chelsea, she helped me more than once. Her class was calm and soft — just what my heart needed. Everybody there who worked… they cared. You can see it in their eyes. They want you to heal. But some of the clients… Lord, I never met people like that. Mean for no reason. Talking behind folks’ backs, lying, flirting, picking on people who just trying to get better. Some are spoiled, like they think the world owes them something. It’s hard trying to get your mind right when folks act nasty like that. They played games, tried to turn people against each other, even talked bad about the staff. Some people just don’t want help — they just want control. Now, about the therapists. My therapist, she was sweet, tried her best. Listened to me when I was scared. But most of the other ones, they seemed tired, like their hearts weren’t in it anymore. The NP didn’t hear me out when I said my medicine wasn't working. That hurt. It made me feel like just another number to them. Still, what really healed me was the peace outside. Sage has the most beautiful land — trees, cows, little birds that sing in the morning. I saw bumblebees dancing on flowers and horses that looked right into your soul. Being with them helped me more than some of the therapy did. Sage ain’t perfect. Some folks there will test your mind and heart. But the staff? They’re angels on earth. They work so hard, care so deep. I’ll never forget them. I came in broken, but I left with pieces of myself I thought were gone forever. If you thinking about going there, go for the staff, the kindness, and the peace. Just be ready — not everyone there wants to heal, but the ones who do will show you what real love looks like.
Based on a comprehensive residential and outpatient experience at this Austin-based behavioral health center, I can confidently recommend it as a profoundly impactful institution, particularly for those seeking a… holistic and supportive environment for recovery. The facility's greatest strength lies in its exceptional operational staff, whose dedication is nothing short of remarkable. The technical staff consistently operate above and beyond their job descriptions, while the culinary team is a delight, accommodating nutritional requests with genuine care. The yoga program, led by instructors like Chelsea, focuses on a restorative, accessible practice that is truly a godsend for healing. The supporting personnel handle external stressors for clients with immense grace, and the aftercare program, championed by individuals like Clint, fosters a vital sense of ongoing community. Facility leadership, such as Jessica, exemplifies unwavering commitment and expertise, providing a stable and compassionate foundation for the entire program. It is important for prospective clients to understand the nature of the peer environment. The clientele can present significant challenges, often exhibiting a level of entitlement and resistance that can be difficult to navigate. One should be prepared for a milieu where manipulation, clique formation, and a general unwillingness to engage in genuine self-reflection are, unfortunately, common. This is not a reflection of the facility itself, but rather a reality of treating complex conditions, and the staff manages these dynamics with remarkable professionalism. The clinical experience, while adequate, presented a more varied standard. My personal therapist was caring and effective, yet the overall therapeutic talent pool seemed average, with some evidence of professional burnout—an understandable hazard in this demanding field. The psychiatric care, while perhaps well-suited for primary substance abuse, was less optimal for nuanced mental health cases, at times lacking in collaborative dialogue. Ultimately, the program's serene, natural campus provides a crucial sanctuary of peace, featuring animal interactions and beautiful grounds that are integral to the healing process. The center excels in its mission to reset individuals and guide them toward long-term resources, powerfully underscored by the core philosophy that "the opposite of addiction is community." For anyone seeking a holistic, staff-supported path to recovery, this center is an excellent choice, provided one enters with realistic expectations about the peer group and clinical variety.
Was a client from Oct '22 to Dec '22 at the Villa in Manor and had an overwhelmingly positive experience, would recommend to anyone
I didn’t want to leave Sage. I truly wish I could go back. Sage Recovery Villa saved my life. This place offers more than just treatment—it provides a powerful opportunity to rewire your brain in the best possible way.… The guided meditations, sound baths, yoga, and therapy are all parts of a magic formula that creates space for real healing, reflection, and transformation. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the hot tub and pool are wonderful, and even the ducks add to the charm. The chefs are friendly, and while I’m more of a chicken nuggets and french fries person, the food here is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. I’d like to personally acknowledge the staff members who made a lasting impact: Caitlin, Clint, Maddie, Lila, Brian, Mason, Becky, Chelsea, Sloan, Kelly, Carrie, and Georgi. Each one brought something meaningful to my journey. Special thanks to Clint for leading the alumni events, which are a phenomenal source of continued connection and support. What sets Sage apart is that the support doesn’t end with your stay. They truly care about you—as a person, not just a patient. That makes all the difference. I didn’t want to leave. Thank you, Sage. You saved my life.
Sage gave me a second chance at a big, beautiful life in sobriety. The entire experience was life-changing. The therapists and techs were incredibly caring and attentive, and I truly felt seen, heard, and supported… every step of the way. The peaceful, down-regulated environment gave me the space I needed to get my mind right and begin healing. While the food could definitely be improved, the sleeping conditions were excellent—so comfortable and restorative. One of the absolute highlights for me was yoga and sound healing with Chelsea. Her sessions were powerful and grounding and became an essential part of my healing process. I’m beyond thankful to have gone through Sage’s program. It gave me a foundation for lasting recovery, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate, holistic care.
Whether your issue is addiction, mental health, emotional trauma or all of the above. Sage Recovery is an amazing and beautifully peaceful environment to begin your recovery. I am living my best life, and I owe it to… the counselors, supportive staff and all-encompassing inspiration from everyone at Sage.
My wife went here and had a terrible experience. She stayed for half of the time and was asked to leave after being put in a situation the staff was unprepared to handle. They then refused to refund us any money after… paying $13,000 cash. They were fast to take our money but after leaving practically halted all communication when asking for help with a possible partial refund. We put what savings we had into this and were essentially begging for some grace and consideration. They shouldn’t market themselves as a treatment center for trauma if they can’t responsibly navigate or handle it appropriately. As far as we are concerned this is a glorified hotel for alcohol and drug abstinence and their therapy’s leave much to be desired. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Stick with solid 12 step program if you want proven results. Shocks me to see 5 stars on all reviews. When we signed up there were a couple 1 star reviews that have disappeared. Taylor in admissions was exception to our negative experience and was amazing from beginning to end.
beautiful treatment center and great people that work there.
sage recovery villa has been a godsend at a time when our son really needed help. They have gone above and beyond to help him. He has been to other rehabs before but this is the first place where he is happy. I have… seen positive changes in him over a short period of time. He is dual diagnosis and the staff has helped him with his mental health as well as his drinking. I would highly recommend sage to anyone who is in crisis and needs help.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sage. Having been to many treatment centers this is not only the most lovely, nurturing, safe, warm environment it has by far the most amazing, wonderful, deeply caring staff I… have ever met! Tiffany, the owner goes the extra mile for each individual making sure their personal specific needs are met. She has a HUGE HEART and is invested entirely in seeing people heal and recover from their disease. Counselors by far the best I have encountered! Taylor who helps with admissions is wonderfully helpful, caring and patient with a gentle spirit. I would send anyone I know and love struggling with addiction to Sage! If anyone has the opportunity to go there GO AND GET EXCITED! It is not only like a spa retreat - you get actual real treatment and real help from the most empathetic, genuinely caring, personable staff that goes literally above and beyond for each client there. I wish everyone struggling with addiction and trauma could go here. Not to mention the food is like five star dining every meal! I am entirely grateful to Sage Recovery Villa and Tiffany and all of the staff their for helping me along my journey to healing and wellness!! Thank you SAGE!!!!!
I was absolutely taken away by the property and homey environment. The diverse staff provided has something to provide anyone who walks through those doors. I can't think of another place that resembles the villa and… would highly recommend it to anyone seeking treatment. After watching the transformation of a loved one I am excited to see the results of their comprehensive and professional treatment.
