Treatment Centers in Colorado That Accept Humana

Humana covers drug and alcohol rehab in Colorado mainly through Medicare: Medicare Advantage, Part D drug plans and Medicare Supplement, sold by Humana agents along the Front Range. In Colorado, Humana has no Health First Colorado contract, its employer medical plans are gone, and TRICARE belongs to TriWest, not Humana Military.

Each entry on this page gives a program’s phone line, the care it offers (hospital detox, partial hospitalization or a methadone clinic, for example) and whether it holds CARF or Joint Commission accreditation. The records come from Colorado licensing files and government treatment registers, so a Humana Medicare member can compare programs before calling the plan.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Colorado?

Yes, for Humana’s Medicare members in Colorado. Humana’s Colorado agent pages list Medicare Advantage, Medicare prescription drug and Medicare Supplement plans, and every Humana Medicare Advantage plan has to match or exceed Original Medicare’s substance use benefit, so Colorado addiction treatment programs billing Medicare can bill Humana too.

Humana now works almost entirely through government programs: Medicare, Medicaid and military contracts. In February 2023 Humana said it was leaving the employer group medical business, and its Medicaid plans operate in other states. Colorado members looking for rehabs that accept Humana are therefore Medicare members, and rehabs that take Medicare are the starting point.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Colorado?

Yes. Humana Medicare Advantage plans in Colorado cover Medicare inpatient rehab, whether the bed is in a psychiatric or a general hospital, since Part A of Medicare covers inpatient mental health and substance use care. Hospital-based addiction care is billed per day, and a named 2026 Texas Humana plan charges a daily copay for the first days only.

How long will Humana pay for inpatient rehab?

Humana follows Medicare’s limit for Colorado members: inpatient psychiatric care in a freestanding psychiatric hospital counts toward a 190-day lifetime limit, while stays in a general hospital do not. Humana’s plan documents describe cost by benefit period, with daily copays for the early days of a stay and no charge after that.

Does Humana run TRICARE in Colorado?

No. Humana Military administers TRICARE East, while Colorado sits in TRICARE West, run by TriWest Healthcare Alliance at 888-874-9378. A Colorado military family with TRICARE uses TriWest for substance use treatment authorization, even though Humana’s name may appear on TRICARE materials from other states. Humana’s TRICARE authorization lines do not apply to Colorado care.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Colorado?

Yes, when withdrawal management takes place as a hospital stay, which Humana Medicare Advantage plans cover under Medicare’s inpatient benefit. Medicare detox programs in Colorado bill Humana like any inpatient admission. For a detox unit outside a hospital, ask Humana before admission, because Medicare’s benefit is built around hospitals.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Colorado?

Yes. Humana Medicare Advantage plans cover outpatient substance use services, Medicare intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization under Medicare. One Texas Humana Gold Plus HMO document for 2026 sets a separate copay for each, and for opioid treatment program services, which shows how Humana prices these levels. Colorado plan documents set their own amounts for the same services.

Some Humana Medicare Advantage plans include mental health telehealth at no added cost and others charge a copay, according to Humana, and Medicare pays for counseling by phone or video. Medicare telehealth counseling is one way for Colorado members far from a program to keep regular sessions, subject to the plan’s copay.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. Humana Medicare Advantage plans cover Medicare-covered MAT through opioid treatment programs, and Humana’s own plan documents and provider materials list methadone among covered services. Medicare itself pays for naltrexone, buprenorphine and methadone at enrolled opioid treatment programs, which also bill counseling and drug tests, so the program can bill one plan for the whole visit.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes. Humana covers methadone for Colorado Medicare members through opioid treatment programs enrolled with Medicare, billed under the medical benefit rather than Part D. Methadone clinics charge Humana members the plan’s opioid treatment copay; a named 2026 Florida Humana plan cut that copay to zero.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes. Humana covers buprenorphine given at an opioid treatment program under Medicare’s medical benefit, and Part D drug plans, including Humana’s, may cover Suboxone under Medicare when filled at a pharmacy. The tier depends on the Colorado member’s plan drug list, which Humana publishes for each plan.

Humana Rehab Centers Near Hot Springs, National Forests and Waterfalls

Humana Medicare plans in Colorado are sold by county, so where a member lives changes which plans they can buy, but not the Medicare benefit itself. Network rules matter more in the mountains: Humana HMO members need network programs, while PPO members may use a non-contracted program that agrees to treat them.

Humana rehab near hot springs

Humana lists Medicare agents in Colorado Springs and Fountain in El Paso County, close to the mineral springs of Manitou Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak. Rehab centers near hot springs and rehab services in Manitou Springs bill Humana Medicare Advantage the same way as programs downtown, provided they contract with the member’s plan.

Humana rehab near national forests

Humana Medicare members in Jefferson County live beside the Pike and Arapaho national forests, which climb west from Lakewood and Golden toward the Continental Divide. Programs near national forests and treatment programs in Evergreen are in-network only if the program contracts with the member’s Humana plan, so the program’s contract status is the first question to ask.

Humana rehab near waterfalls

Humana PPO rules matter in Routt County, where Fish Creek Falls drops above Steamboat Springs: a PPO member may use a non-contracted program that agrees to treat them, usually at a higher cost share. Rehab centers near waterfalls and Steamboat Springs recovery programs follow that PPO rule.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Colorado?

Browse the listings on this page. Each Colorado program shown takes some Humana coverage. Entries list phone lines, care levels and accreditation, and filters sort them by town and service. Call with your Humana Medicare card in hand to find out whether a program contracts with your plan, which matters most on HMO coverage.

For Humana Medicare Advantage admission in Colorado, start with the program and the member services number on the Humana card; that line explains any required authorization. Humana’s Medicare customer line, 1-800-457-4708, also appears on its Colorado agent page for anyone without a local agent. The table shows which Humana products still exist in Colorado and who handles the rest.

Humana rehab in Denver

Humana keeps a Medicare agent in Denver, one of six Colorado cities on its MarketPoint agent page. Denver residents who have both Medicare and Health First Colorado should know that Humana runs no Colorado Medicaid plan, so their Medicaid wraparound coverage comes from the state. Denver rehab programs and Cherry Creek treatment options bill each payer separately.

Humana rehab in Lakewood

Humana lists a Lakewood Medicare agent for Jefferson County, on the western edge of the Denver metro. Humana HMO members there need a network program for non-emergency care, so a call to Humana before a residential or hospital stay avoids surprises. Rehab centers in Lakewood show their levels of care in each listing.

Humana rehab in Thornton and Westminster

Humana’s Thornton agent covers the northern Denver suburbs in Adams County, an area that runs through Westminster and Broomfield as well as Thornton. Humana sells HMO plans as Humana Gold Plus and PPO plans as HumanaChoice, so the card shows which network rule applies. Thornton treatment programs and Westminster rehab options bill Humana once that plan starts.

Humana rehab in Colorado Springs

Humana has Medicare agents in Colorado Springs, Fountain and Castle Rock, three of the six cities on its Colorado agent page. Humana’s own TRICARE contract does not reach the city’s military families, who use TriWest. Colorado Springs treatment centers and programs near Briargate list Humana Medicare where accepted.

Will my Humana plan change in 2027?

Possibly. Humana is dropping a group of Medicare Advantage plans nationwide, chiefly ones rated 3.5 stars or below, at the end of 2026. Members in those plans were to be told by October 2, 2026, and their coverage stops on December 31. Humana did not publish the counties. A Colorado member with a notice can choose again at open enrollment.

Can I use Humana for rehab in a different state?

Yes, on Humana PPO plans, where an out-of-network program may treat the member if it agrees, usually at a higher cost share. One 2026 Michigan Humana PPO document keeps telehealth substance use visits in-network only. Humana HMO plans cover care outside the network mainly in emergencies, so a Colorado HMO member traveling for treatment should call Humana first.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Humana Medicare Advantage plans in Colorado charge set copays for each visit and a per-day charge at the start of any hospital admission, up to a yearly in-network out-of-pocket maximum. The amounts differ by plan and county and appear in each plan’s Summary of Benefits. Members who also have Health First Colorado owe no substance use copays to Medicaid.

Humana Medicare is one way Colorado Medicare members pay for treatment, but not the only one. The listings include programs that bill other insurers and sliding scale fees, and each facility page shows which plans it accepts, so a member can weigh costs before calling Humana or during open enrollment.
