I went to Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport emergency room for a severe migraine headache and my heart felt like it was beating fast. The waiting room was crowded but they did take me in right away to check my heart.… Everyone was extremely nice and incredibly professional. After finding out my heart was ok there was a bit of a wait but they kept you busy bringing you to other tests and registration. It made the time go by. I did in into a room and was greeted by a RN who looks my vitals etc. Shortly after a wonderful FEMALE doctor came in. I had explained my problem. She explained things in MY language so I could understand fully (which was so refreshing)and my potassium level was dangerously low from vomiting from the migraine I had to be admitted. That took a bit but I got upstairs and I was treated wonderfully AGAIN by a WOMEN DOCTOR who also knew how to talk to patients and received treatment and released. All the nurses were on point and professional and incredibly nice. Thank you Bridgeport Hospital for your superior care.

This hospital is awful in the comments they all say the same and all they have to say is that they’re sorry for expectations it crazy I was in a lot of pain for 4 hours straight and it took so long to get seen and a lot… of people were upset about the same thing a daytime they have better service

I don’t understand how this passes for “health care.” Leaving a girl crying in excruciating pain in the waiting room for 2 hours. Giving her meds once she starts screaming just to shut her up. Then not doing a damn test… or any other thing for the next 12 hours. Not even a comfortable chair to sit in while you spend your entire night rotting here while they say they’ll be with you “soon.” Should be a zero star rating. These people don’t deserve the money the insurance companies pay to keep this sorry excuse for a hospital alive.

Seeing all the bad reviews I had to write one. My father has been in here a lot for his heart and recently a back injury. My son also had a stay here for appendicitis. I’ve come away from every visit impressed with how… caring and competent the staff is - especially the nurses. Sure, it wasn’t perfect but it’s a very good place and much better than ST Vincent’s. Highly recommend.

This visit, I had a very good experience with Bridgeport Hospital. (I’ve had other, less positive experiences.) This experience, I went in through the ED, where people were very responsive and 100% helpful. I was… admitted and stayed on the 10th floor, just overnight. Again, I had a caring and responsive team helping me, from the nurses to food service and housekeeping. Call out to Zora for her care and concern, going above and beyond!

Very good attention. The doctors and nurses were good and attentive. Nurse Caroline, very kind and very patient. My wife, our baby, there. Yesterday we left the hospital and at all times they were very good and very… good care.

By far the worst experience of my life. I came to them with a proven 5 year long illness that I have lab tests for and a cat scan they performed there showing signs of possible kidney infection and their ID specialist… was completely incompetent. He literally said to me "I'm not familiar with your type of infection" yet he had final say. They discharged me a day later without addressing the real problem. They called the police and had me escorted out of the building because I was pleading for them to help me. 3 days later and my symptoms are worsening.

Scheduled at Interventional Radiology for an Epidural at 9am. Fasted for 24 hours to prepare. It is now 11:30 and I was just told “maybe an hour or more until we take you in”! Mind you, I have to listen to the staff… cajole and happily declare “I’m leaving for lunch”! Patient care and attentiveness is NOT a priority here, if you can go somewhere else! They are not staffed properly for the number of patients which is clear as I listen to the banter of the nurses and doctors trying to figure out how they will perform the scheduled procedures. It’s sad!

This is one of our City’s Hospitals. I was born in this hospital and have had to come back to have surgery at this hospital. They have taken care of me and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Today I met… with a nutritionist to discuss nutritional options I should be doing. The hospital is an important part of our local economy and job provider.

I came in with a really bad back pain. I couldn’t move my legs nor walk on my own. I had to wait 4 hours in the waiting room. Once I got in the room I still had to wait another hour. My nurse went on his break and… assumed that the doctor came in to give me the medicine but didn’t. After his break he came back and was clueless about what is going on. The doctors/nurses just kept talking amongst them. Honestly the WORST experience at a hospital. I’ve NEVER had to eat so long. I understand that there are other patients but I was really in bad bad pain.

A heartfelt thank you to the Burn Unit team and Manager Jackie Dear Burn Unit Team and Hospital Administration, I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care my brother and I received during his… recent stay in your unit. My brother is from Connecticut and was treated there for 2nd and 3rd-degree burns. Because I am from Florida, I traveled to be with him and stayed by his side 24/7. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism we experienced from every single nurse—both the overnight and morning shifts—was nothing short of amazing. They didn't just provide medical care for my brother; they showed genuine kindness and supported both of us during a very difficult and scary time for our family. I want to give a special, heartfelt thank you to the manager, Jackie. Your leadership shines through your staff, and your personal support meant the world to us. Thank you all so much for everything you do. The world truly needs more healthcare professionals like you.

As a registered nurse, I would never recommend anyone go here. My mom went in with concerns of a blood clot after recent surgery. Imaging confirmed our suspicions, positive for blood clots. They sent her home on… ibuprofen for the pain and told her to come back in a week if it gets worse, keep in mind her symptoms were getting worse by the day…. no blood thinners or further interventions other than pain management… she waited over 5 hrs to be told she had blood clots and then sent home on pain meds that she was already on from her recent surgery…. Do NOT waste your time unless you have no other choice

Used to be great hospital its now a cesspool filled with incompetent nurses and doctors good luck seeing one. Food services got my dinner wrong then when i reordered they said ok and left for night without bringing me… dinner. Nurse kept confusing me with another patient who had same first name and tried to put on a lidocaine patch that easnt mine i told her and shes arguing with me that it eas just ordered for me. When she scans my bracelet she finally sees that it was for someone else and said you were right. They sometimes give meds before scanning bracelet so you gotta watch em for mistakes. I will not be going back there ever. I dont know what happened it used to be great hospital before yale got ahold of it. Rude non cating nurses dont care if you eat or not. Its like land of misfits where they send all the worst or inexperienced workers i was better off at their virtual hospital in mlfd where there is no one there and why they are being sued

I am shocked at all those negative comments. I had a very different experience. I had a major surgery and stayed 1 night. When I pressed the nurse button she answered quick. My meds were given within a very short time.… Overall, Bridgeport hospital did a great job fixing me and were very kind while doing so!
