Indiana Ctr for Recovery/Alcohol and – Bloomington Detox and Rehab Services

Indiana Ctr for Recovery/Alcohol and – Bloomington carries a listing for residential treatment and intensive outpatient. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

★★★★★ I would highly recommend Indiana Center for Recovery. No treatment facility is perfect, and there are a few things I think could be improved, but overall my experience was very positive. In talking with residents… who had been through treatment before and experienced relapses, I repeatedly heard this was the best facility they had been to. After my experience, I understand why. The biggest area for improvement is communication. There can be a lot of redirection between staff when trying to get an answer, and expectations aren't always communicated clearly. When someone is already in a difficult place and there to heal, even small communication issues can become frustrating. For example, there's a sign-up sheet for cleaning the lunch area that I didn't know about until I discovered I was on it. It's no big deal—about 15 minutes with several people—but knowing beforehand would help. Mail is another example: you need to check the office after sessions each day if you're expecting something. Small things, but clearer communication would make the experience easier. A few practical recommendations: bring an inexpensive wristwatch because you won't have your phone and clocks aren't always readily available. If you smoke, you can't bring a lighter, although techs are readily available to light cigarettes. A small, dim flashlight is useful for finding things at night without disturbing roommates. A blanket can also help in a cold room or with getting comfortable in a chair. Where Indiana Center for Recovery really shines is the people and treatment. Syndey, Greg, and Dave are excellent facilitators. Classes cover a wide range of subjects and include traditional groups along with activities such as art and music. I learned a great deal about recovery, myself, and how I look at life. They also offer acupuncture and a variety of other therapeutic activities. The staff deserves a lot of credit. Toni, Justin, Sarah, Carter, the nursing staff, and many others do a great job. The atmosphere among both staff and residents is remarkably nonjudgmental and supportive. Everyone has a story and is working through something. The facility has a gym, arcade, and plenty of outdoor areas for walking or sitting when the weather cooperates. Those things matter when you're temporarily removed from your normal life and routine. Treatment isn't easy. Being away from home, without your phone and outside your normal environment, can be difficult. But Indiana Center for Recovery gives you an opportunity to step outside that environment, learn about yourself, work on what brought you there, and figure out what comes next. I especially appreciate that treatment doesn't feel one-size-fits-all. They continually assess where you are, work closely with you, and help determine appropriate next steps for treatment, sobriety, recovery, or mental-health care. There are communication and organizational details I would improve, but they don't outweigh the quality of the people, treatment, support, and overall experience. For someone who genuinely wants help and is willing to participate in the process, I would absolutely recommend Indiana Center for Recovery. It earned five stars from me—not because everything is perfect, but because what matters most about the place is very good.

If you're looking for a place to recover and feel safe while doing it, those is the place for you! They have great facilities from residential (detox) to IOP. And then I have everything you need to include a top notch… recreational facility, theater in game room. I really enjoyed my stay from detox to PHP. the staff is so understanding, forgiving, professional, and put my welfare and safety first. A special thanks to my Case Manager -Megan who worked diligently behind the scenes, the Office Manager-Caitlin who stayed on top of my legal situation, my Therapist-Kenzi, her stand in - Isaac, the Nurse Practitioner-Tori, the entire nursing staff, Rachel from the the Spravoto clinic, all of the BHTs, and the facilitators alike. Let me not forget the Barber, the caterer, Vanessa, Lola, Betty, Jess, (any one who I failed to mention in the executive staff) and all of my peeps who dared to brave this journey with me. Going into a recovery process is no joke but when you have a good team who is like-minded and inspires hope makes the journey that much easier. Keep in mind that you only get out what you put into the process but if you come here you will be provided with a safe environment eighth people that will walk you through, smiler when you smile and so compassion when times are hard. I'm leaving here knowing that I have absorbed all of the processes and tools to make it while I'm standing on my own two feet. From start to finish, ICFR exercised care and compassion concerning me, my safety and that of others. Thank you indiana Center for Recovery (ICFR) For all it's worth...You Rock!

This place was the best! I have been to multiple places for my mental health and this thankfully was my last stop. I was recommended this place by another mental health facility. And I truly am grateful for all of the… techs, therapist, and doctors! But a big shout out to the personal trainer they have there! And to the lady in the barbershop without the courage from these two I would have went crazy without seeing my family for over a month. Even on days where I felt super depressed the trainer encouraged me to just get on the treadmill and walk. And so thankful that he did that because honestly it made me feel better. And the lady in the barbershop I went to when I was too overwhelmed to do anything with my hair and without judgment she helped. I wish I could remember their names but it’s been almost a year ago. But will be forever grateful for them, and this place!

This program appears to be beneficial to those dealing with addiction and mental health issues. However, in a short 28 day stay for my daughter, the discharge process was a disaster. We were given 24 hour notice that… she needed a place to stay or she was going to a women’s shelter her therapist Cindy gave me double talk and told me things that were untrue. She told me she spoke to people. She did not speak to. My daughter was discharged without verifying safe housing for her discharge, they let her go discharge to go “hang out”. Nobody worked with my daughter to make sure a pathways to recovery grant was in place in proper time for her to go to her next step which was sober living. My daughter was discharged with nowhere to go today she sits with an unprocessed recovery grant nowhere to go and very volatile to relapse. I am filing a Medicaid complaint. Again, the program is very beneficial, but make sure you have a proper discharge process in place when your loved ones ready to come home prior to 24 hour notice.

I am overall grateful of this experience. It was needed and I'm glad I got to do this. There are some areas of improvement that need to be addressed, and admissions should not make promises to get people to come to the… facility, and more senior techs would be helpful. But overall this was a good experience.
