Capital Area Human Services – Plaquemine Reviews and Ratings
Services, insurance and licensing for Capital Area Human Services are set out elsewhere on this page. Reviews cover the part no register records: how patients and their families found the care in Plaquemine.
Several accounts that describe the same thing tell you more than a single strong opinion.
This place, much like the rest of Louisiana is a joke, unfortunately .😞
My brother has worked with his therapist for over six months and previously received services through this clinic approximately ten years ago. During the course of assisting him with his VA disability appeal, we… attempted to obtain records from his prior treatment history only to learn that those records were no longer available. This created a significant obstacle in documenting the long-standing nature of his mental health condition. Additionally, our family sought professional assistance regarding a nexus letter in support of his VA appeal involving schizophrenia that began during his military service. Rather than providing guidance or discussing the request in a meaningful way, his therapist appeared unfamiliar with or unwilling to address the purpose of a nexus letter. Given the importance of this matter to a veteran seeking benefits related to service-connected mental health conditions, this response was both frustrating and disappointing. Veterans often rely on mental health professionals to provide accurate documentation, continuity of care, and informed support when navigating the VA claims process. We expected a higher level of professionalism, knowledge, and advocacy from a clinic serving individuals with serious mental health conditions. Due to these concerns, our family has decided to transfer care to another provider. We believe veterans deserve providers who take pride in their work, maintain appropriate records, understand the documentation needs associated with VA disability claims, and actively support their patients throughout the treatment process. I respectfully request that this complaint be reviewed by clinic leadership and that steps be taken to improve communication, record retention practices, and provider education regarding veterans’ mental health documentation needs.
I’ve been sitting in the parking lot for 2 and a half hours waiting for my girlfriend. Come to find out the therapist wasn’t even there. This place is a complete joke. As I’m writing this I’m still in the parking lot… and texting my girlfriend while she’s been in there crying because the doctors don’t communicate with each other. One telling her to get off one medication. And the other questioning why. Just a back and forth and nothing getting accomplished. She finally just texted me and said they told her 10 more mins while they get the paperwork finished. Almost 3 hours total. This is not acceptable.
Very concerning that the employee that does screenings here does not understand the basic difference between a psychologist, psychiatrist, or a lcsw etc. When asked if we wanted to see a psychiatrist, we answered no. To… which he replied "then I'll send you right out the door." My husband and I explained we are interested in seeing a lcsw, or a psychologist, not a psychiatrist. To which the employee responded "they are the same thing." They aren't the same thing. Please educate your employees. Otherwise, I have no problem "going right out the door." Lol away from the incompetency and ignorance.
Awesomely professional
Quote honestly this place is a joke. They don't take anything serious they think everyone is there seeking drugs that they don't even give. And their classes are a joke

Really really sincere, caring people, go get counseling, any addiction help you need and they will give you narcan which is highly needed in this day and time
Terrible experience. Need to be shut down and fire everyone. Everyone not bad but too many are not professional. Need a new staff doctors and all. Very nice nurses but one doctor particularly need to be fired. Both… location my family member had horrible experiences.
