About STC Addiction Wellness Center – Baton Rouge

235 Cora Drive in Baton Rouge puts STC Addiction Wellness Center inside a short drive of Monticello, Merrydale and the towns around them. Within around 7 miles that includes Baton Rouge, Monticello, Merrydale and Brownfields. Baton Rouge sits in East Baton Rouge County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

Services run to detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. Medication-assisted treatment is part of the offer, the approach with the strongest evidence for opioid dependence. Substance use and mental health are treated together rather than in sequence. Veterans are a named group here. STC Addiction Wellness Center is federally registered and licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health.

As an addiction professional Who actually works in the field, and I have found no other representative more eager to be of service and to help provide resources, support referrals, and connections than this location.… Every time I’ve called them, they’ve helped me place someone in need. You get no better than that in this field. I’m so grateful for them.

I work closely with STC Addiction Wellness Center and would highly recommend to any family or person struggling with a substance use disorder. Their long-term program gives men the time and space to heal and improve… their lives.

I can confidently say that St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center is one of the most reliable and genuinely caring programs out there. The team at St. Christopher’s exemplifies professionalism and dedication,… fostering a therapeutic community that emphasizes accountability, healing, family programming, and long-term recovery.

St Christopher was a wonderful experience for me to get sober, learn about Alcoholics Anonymous, and learn about the disease and about myself. The staff from the front office down were fantastic, before, during, and… after treatment. I would recommend this place to anyone

If it weren't for St. Christopher's we would still be wading through the confusion of what to do about our alcoholic loved one. The pain was close to unbearable. We were all lost and so very tired. St. Chris was… recommended to us and the counselors and techs there made the difference. After three months, our loved one graduated and transitioned with the help of staff. The combination of medical supervision, group therapy, and 24/7 supervision was the key to finding the path we are on now. Our alcoholic is over six months sober and proud. It's a day at a time, but we are thankful for this second chance, given to us by the caring folks at St. Christopher's.

There is a review I have been meaning to write for a long time, one that I have not written because I want to get it not just “good” or “very nice” but one that I could get 100% perfect, and knock it out of the… ballpark. This is not that review. This is a prerequisite to that review. I have been an addict and alcoholic for the majority of my life, and certainly not the typical normal drinker. I have gone through St. Christopher’s twice and, while that may be a red flag for some, both times I have achieved long-term sobriety. The first stint I went in 2009 and was sober a few months shy of eleven years, and after my relapse during COVID I returned and have a little over 18 months now. Never before have I been welcomed by people and felt as a part of a community in my life the way I have at St. Christopher’s. This is where I met a plethora of my friends, both casual and close, where I worked the 12 steps of recovery, where I met my sponsor, and most importantly, where I recovered from a desperate bottom I thought was potentially insurmountable and have thrived ever since. During my times of sobriety after St. Christopher’s, I have attained three college degrees- a Bachelors and two Masters, become successful in a career which many people find too difficult to become successful in, and what’s more- I learned how to live again, from the hopeless state that I was in when I walked through the doors each time. I played paintball with the guys while I was in treatment, went to movies, participated in groups, attended LSU athletic events, and more. I have traveled the country with friends I met here going to AA conventions. I have made friends who were there to help me get back on my feet when I was too low to help myself. I have sponsored and worked with the guys here as well. There is a very important point that I want to make here and that is how important it is to support your local treatment center. There will be naysayers who say that treatment is too expensive, that it isn’t necessary when you can recover through going to AA, etc., but this place in particular is amazing. I have been to treatment three times, and this is the one that saved my life. If there is ever a time when we do not have treatment centers to help those who cannot do it on there own, then recovery as a whole will be in jeopardy. I have partaken in many things in my life that I never would have had I never have set foot into this place. Please remember to keep these guys in mind whenever you have a loved one in need of help in recovery. If you want to achieve long-term sobriety, or you know someone who does, St. Christopher’s is the place to do it. Their success rate speaks for itself. The people who work here go above and beyond, from counselors, to the techs, to the nurses and kitchen staff. They work hard, they do it just to help others, they are selfless, and they usually aren’t driving home in Ferraris. They put a lot of work into what they do and if you go there, be sure to thank them Thank you, St. Chris. I owe you guys everything. I owe you my life.

I am forever indebted St. Christopher’s addiction wellness. God brought me down there when I was seemingly Hopeless and helped me get sober for the first time in my life. The community, counselors, and program as a… whole prepare the one recovering better than any other place I’ve ever seen. If you have a loved one that wants a shot at sobriety, this is the first step. Forever grateful

I was at STC from December 2013 to November of 2014. I am featured on their website under “Judy’s Story”. Everything they say is a lie. Since I graduated from STC in 2014 I have buried 7 friends who “completed” the… program and who were given a clean bill to advance in life. I was sober for 3 years after leaving STC. But after living a life full of fear and being scared of a liquid, I decided to shed everything I was taught in their “treatment” program. Since that moment I have completed my undergraduate degree, Master’s degree, and am thriving. If anything, STC stunted me as a person and I would be very, very careful before sending your loved one to this program. Make sure they describe what little goes into getting an RAC and actually how many CITs they have treating clients.

STC gave me a strong start to recovery. I can attribute continuous sobriety since 2015 to the skills i learned there at their long term program and sober living.

As a professional in this industry, it’s important to recognize other professionals and treatment centers that provide quality services…and St. Christopher’s just does that! The staff members truly care for clients and… their families and go above and beyond to help them navigate the recovery process. Thank you St. Christopher’s for modeling what excellent clinical care looks like!

Incredible place and became the vessel from which I shaped my future. Moved to BR March 23, 2012 in desperate hopes of avoiding feeling empty and hopeless for the rest of my life. I entered St. Christopher's with a… mustard seed of hope and came out with a forest of happiness, joyfulness, and freedom. The program was well designed and allowed not only myself to recover from drug addiction, but created a unique environment for my family members to slowly begin to rekindle a once forgotten or dare I say despised relationship. Even though my family remained in Oklahoma, the program enabled great opportunities for me to work on myself prior to upgrading into feeling useful as a son and brother again. The counselors, techs, and guys who shared my misery, but wanted change, made this program incredible for me and many others that I still cherish today.

My son got the treatment, but our entire family got the benefits. Saint Chris works very hard to keep parents and siblings involved. We all had to learn how not to be enablers. Numerous phone calls and selective visits… helped us “Let go…..Let God.” From the absolute depths to where he now is on staff at a major oil investment firm in Fort Worth, my son took an amazing trip - a journey he could not have made without Saint Chris.

St. Christopher has changed the lives of so many, including myself. I tried a few other programs prior to St. Christopher and success was short-lived after completion. I will forever be grateful for the St.… Christopher's program and community for providing me the tools to live a life i didn't think possible while actively using.

St. Christopher’s addiction wellness saved my life. The things I learned at St. Chris wasn’t just about my addiction but how to become a better person. When I walked through those doors in desperation and in need of… guidance I walked out with the tools and the guidance I needed to live a healthier lifestyle. Thank you to the faculty, from the counselors and ownership down to the techs for helping me become who I am today.

This place is garbage... the building is falling apart, there's mold throughout the facility, the staff members might as well just go back to rehab themselves because they don't have anything else going for them,… depending on what nurse you have that day determines what meds you are administered meaning I was given other people's meds multiple times or I was given sleep meds in the morning, I wouldn't even feed my 4 dogs the food they serve eventhough they have a so called 5 star chef, the counselors there are young and honestly emotionally inadequate, I didn't see a real doctor the whole time I was there, my blanket was from 1915 and had been shredded to pieces from the hundreds of people before me, the washing machines and dryers don't do a damn thing, the a/c doesn't work in half of the facility, they gave me someone else's wallet with all their money and identification in it... what more is there to explain.

St. Chris’s was great for developing the sober social life that I needed and struggled with for years. They put me in an environment with other young guys trying to get sober and developed a program geared towards our… demographic. It helped create friendships that still exist today. While I hated some things that the treatment center did at the time, looking back I can see why they did what they did.

When I came to St. Christopher's I was afraid to get help and scared of what rehab might be like. I had never been to any kind of mental health treatment before and was pretty sure rehab wouldn't help me. I knew I had… an opiate use problem but I also was severely depressed and had lots of social anxiety. St. Christopher's welcomed me and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The staff especially had a huge impact on me. Many of them had gone thru the treatment process themselves or had loved ones that suffered from addiction and mental health issues. They helped me heal myself and find a life worth living and getting excited for. I actually had ALOT of fun in treatment, I made lifelong friends and I'm still sober today. St. Christopher's saved my life, helped me to be an active part of my family again, reconnect with my hobbies and learn to find purpose and enjoy life. I would strongly, STRONGLY recommend it to anyone suffering with substance abuse or mental health issues.
