I was in the adult unit and yes, for some reason they have the violent and sexually aggressive men on the same floor as the women. And you have to be around them all day. Yes, some people will have horrible BO and will… even poop their diapers around everyone. People will most likely steal some of your clothes. The entire unit never got mopped or cleaned while I was there. I'll also add that this place seems to be severely understaffed (for good reason) but the staff here is amazing as long as you treat them with respect. Literally all of the staff is gorgeous as well. The food is amazing. I went here to get a proper diagnosis and get a therapist and I achieved that. Made some cool friends too.
I had an okay experience here, I was held in unit 6 for about little over 3 days, during that time I was able to get familiar with the staff and schedule, huge shoutout to Roderick, Melissa , Kristen and Mrs. Tiffany,… mainly everyone was friendly and helpful, I will say Cameron the tech responsible for most day duties in unit 6 does not treat probably more than half the people there with any sort of respect, we are patients but are also people as well, I cannot even fathom how someone like that has a job in the healthcare industry what so ever, his position needs to be evaluated IMMEDIATELY; telling patients to shut up; and having an attitude with every single question he’s asked WHICH HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE HELPFUL TOWARDS US, and for this to be the main tech on the floor during the day IS RIDICULOUS! Having someone who pursues aggression or irritation with every answer he gives to any patient here is not good look at all. This morning during group he literally was demeaning this older lady in our group just because she wanted to talk to the doctor, and other for wanting to APOLOGIZE TO HIM!??!? All I have to say for the amount of money some of spend to get help like this is crazy and needs to be addressed ASAP Another thing is I came in with two ITEMS my keys and my VAPE, and my vape got LOST?? And another similar situation had just happened according to Brandi at the front desk, someone is definitely taking or stealing them from patients belongings, they should only have 1 person do the bag check and transfer to the safe.
This place was terrible. It's really similar to jail, except you don't get locked out of your room all day in jail. The lobby is immaculate and VERY misleading. After you get past the lobby, it immediately starts to… feel like you're being escorted into a penitentiary. The staff was overall pretty good, but the constant close proximity with the involuntary patients as a voluntary admission, is not what was expected. I can only assume, but I imagine the state hospital is very similar. DEFINITELY would not recommend if you have a choice
The have the best care and does everything to help you. Thank you christina therapist, tish advocate, Tiffany, cam, Angie, Joan, Lenard
brathrum was dirty
I had the BEST care here! The staff in Unit 6 was on point with everything & they were all so nice! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with your mental health. If I ever have to go back,… I would in a heartbeat! Thanks Bridgeway for bringing my smile back! -Hope Roberson!
i am begging you not to go here if you have a mood disorder, ptsd, or any complicated mental disorder that you are in an extended episode with. seek help elsewhere, please. i suffer from severe separation anxiety with… my fiancé, and some of the techs were just kind of rude. the other patients did make everything a lot better on unit 6, however i did have a really rough time at bridgeway and i wouldn’t ever go back again. i would only ever recommend this place for detox, people with mild depression, and people needing their medicine adjusted. some of the staff are very kind, however a good majority of the staff do not care for physically and mentally disabled people, especially those of which who can advocate for themselves and know what they need. have a good day. 🩵
probably one of the most unprofessional places for mental health. Spoke with a nurse and asked his opinion on how my S/O and the nurse said “oh i can’t talk about that”. Like talk about what? you’re a LITERAL nurse,… just tell me what you assessed lmfao. anyways, any question you ask will be met with an “idk” before you even finish it so save your time and energy. Go to UAMS or Baptist
Hell on earth. Also, that crap about caring and wanting to know more that they commented down below? I did a form and they never responded so pretty sure that is just an attempt to look good since that's literally all… they care about.
I just left this place today, and based on my experience, I would not recommend it. I will say it is very disorganized and appears to be understaffed. There is a schedule, but things were rarely done on time. Meals,… medications, phone call times, and therapy groups were frequently delayed, sometimes by quite a while. Beyond the scheduling issues, I was told my unit would be quiet and consist of stabilized patients, but my experience was very different. Within my first few hours there, I witnessed arguments between patients, conversations about ways to commit suicide (which staff noticed but said nothing about), discussions about harming themselves with spoons, and one patient who would scream for an injection every time he became angry. And to my knowledge, they complied and did so. During my stay, there was also a man who repeatedly bothered several of the women on the unit. From what I observed, no one intervened until he began screaming and cursing the staff followed by him slamming his hands against the windows in the day rooms. You do not receive much one-on-one treatment. Most of the day is spent sitting around waiting for the next group therapy session, which, in my experience, usually consisted of a brief conversation followed by a simple activity rather than meaningful therapy. There was also an incident that concerned me involving medications. From what I observed, a patient appeared to receive 300 mg of tramadol at one time even though she stated she was supposed to receive 100 mg three times a day. It did not appear that the medication was verified before it was administered, and throughout my stay I noticed staff generally did not tell patients what medications they were being given during medication pass. Another situation that stood out to me involved a woman who was clearly distressed and shared that she could not stop thinking about a difficult situation. The staff member leading the group responded by telling her to “just think about it more,” which I found to be an unhelpful and inappropriate response for someone struggling emotionally. I also witnessed staff talking down to patients on multiple occasions, and I personally felt I was treated like a child rather than an adult seeking help. Another disappointment was the lack of outdoor access. The only “fresh air” break consisted of sitting on a concrete balcony enclosed with bars, which felt more like being in a cage than spending time outside. Something else I think patients should know is that voluntarily admitting yourself does not mean you can simply leave whenever you choose. Even after the doctor approved my discharge, I spent hours waiting to speak with a consultant, and no staff member could tell me when they would arrive on the unit. During that time, I witnessed another patient who wanted to leave but could not remember the phone numbers he needed. He became increasingly anxious, and instead of helping de-escalate the situation, a staff member raised their voice and repeatedly told him to “CALM DOWN,” saying that being anxious was not going to help him get anywhere. Overall, based on my experience, this facility was disorganized, appeared to be understaffed, and I often felt that patients were treated disrespectfully. I did not feel I received individualized care, and I left feeling that this was not a safe, comfortable, or therapeutic environment for my recovery.
Nurse Mary was the absolute best. It was obvious that she felt the only difference between her and us was that she had the keys. Very kind and compassionate while still maintaining boundaries. I couldn’t have asked for… a better nurse. She really seemed to love what she does. The doctor I had was condescending and stated that a NP should not be treating me and didn’t know what she was doing, however my NP has never dangerously overmedicated me as he did. I was in the ER the day after leaving with lithium toxicity. I could barely talk or walk. Zero coordination. Shaking. Blurred vision. Near syncope, nausea/vomiting, hot flashes.
I want to Thank unit 5 staff, I wish thier pillow be cold everynight! Nurses, techs, doctors, the driver. I truly appreciate Dwayne without him I wouldn't be able to move own . MRS. K Thank you so much. God Bless… everyone
We recently had to make a very difficult decision as our adult son who is on the spectrum asked to go to an inpatient facility because of anxiety and depression. Immediately, I thought of BridgeWay because of seeing… them in the community. From the very first person I spoke with at Admissions, my momma heart felt peace. Jamie, at Admissions, calmed my worry. She was very kind and patient as I explained the situation. She then connected with me Erin, the mobile assessor who was nothing short of amazing. She eases my mind as she talked us through the paperwork and admitted him over the phone. During the admission process at the facility, Brandi at the front desk and Shawn, the therapist who took vitals made my son feel comfortable and were the sweetest. Each nurse I spoke to throughout his stay and the patient advocate on his unit, were phenomenal. The patient advocate was more than a voice for her patients. She was a valuable resource for each one. She took the time to go over everything with me before he came home to let us know, she was there if we needed anything! The discharge was a smooth process and even after discharge we needed a pharmacy change and Casey, the nurse I spoke to the day after discharge, was on top of it and again, eased my mind. So, the process was smooth and they made it easy during a difficult time. My son feels so much better. They found a medication regimen that seems to be working wonderfully for his diagnosis and he felt comfortable with the people in his unit. He was listened to by the employees when he felt he needed more from them and felt heard. He left feeling better and that was the most important goal. He left with resources to use outside the facility and a new skill set he can use to cope. So thank you BridgeWay, to each person who helped my baby along the way. Your facility is not only a beautiful facility in a serene environment but also makes the process more than just a process and my son was more than just a number.
The patient advocate, Tish, was amazing and thoughtful. Her presence on the unit was comforting.
i was recently admitted here for a mental health crisis, and this was by far the best stay inpatient that i have ever experienced. the food was amazing, and the staff was even better. they took excellent care of me… during my stay here.
Shoutout ms. Jasmine ilyyyy
I had an amazing experience with them they was so very nice I met a lot of people going through some of the same things I was as well I felt loved foe once alll the people was nice and really caring about there… patients,THANKS SM BRIDGEWAY !!!
I have set my child here more times than what I've wanted to if I could have gave them a zero I would have my son is currently there now I've asked to speak to someone in administration several times no one has yet to… contact me in administration I asked to speak to a patient advocate civil workers have told me that one would call they have not I only use Bridgeway as a last resort as a parent who does not currently have transportation and your child is going through something and you have no choice but to get them help at that moment and all the beds are full at mental health facilities for adolescents and you're only choice left is to send your child to Memphis and you don't have transportation of course you're going to use sorry Bridgeway I hate with everything in my spirit and soul that my child is there now I literally had no choice because of transportation issues I caught everyone in close proximity to the Pulaski county area the best children's to come up with before he was transferred was Fayetteville or Memphis which the transportation issues were expressed because he is on probation I am scared they're going to ask for his residential stay there was supposed to be a change in administration I have noticed less attitudes and them listening but it goes in one ear out the other literally it all goes in one ear out the other like they're listening and have the time cannot repeat what you have already discussed with these people I hate he is there and I had to use this place as a last option I feel like I am in a lose lose situation
. Dr. Patterson is good along with Dr. Jarvis, but the staff is poorly trained if any . One dude on staff I would give five stars woulld be Mr. Cailyn who I named Doc!! He actually had a heart and cared about what his… job required of him. Big shout out Kasie RN! She is awesome. Also, the therapist Stephanie is great at what she does! I recommend unit 6 if you go….if you’re not too crazy! Oh last shout out goes to Brandon in activities!
I had a very positive experience. Every one was very helpful. I am truly thankful for everything.
If you need help with your mental illness this is an awesome place to go to for help the staff is patient and understanding the therapist/social worker on unit 5 advocated for me while I was there amazing staff
The staff is extremely supportive to help you get better. I don’t plan on going back but if I did, I know I will be welcomed with open arms. Thank you to the multitude of staff in Unit 6 for all your support.
Great help. Nurse Tee was very helpful and kind. The sweetest nurse to know. Also the Consultant Ms. Tish was amazing and helpful as well thru the process. And the Therapist, Ms. Stephanie was helpful wonderful in… counseling and the CEO Ms. Koilin was very welcoming! I love them. Wonderful services in helping me tought time.
The worst experience of my life, I would not recommend this place to anyone! One the of the nurses told my daughter who’s afraid of shots, since she’s been cutting she should be able to take the shot! I reported the… incident and bridge way covered it up by saying it was hearsay as if my daughter was lying!
My necklace was taken from me. When I got back it had 2 knots in it. It is 14k gold. Also I had an anklet that is missing. I was in a hurry to leave, and I forgot about it.
