Court Ordered Rehab Centers in Mississippi

A Mississippi judge, prosecutor or probation officer can make alcohol or drug treatment part of a case. The order usually names the kind of care expected. The programs on this page say they accept court-ordered clients. Their details come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings, and information the providers supplied themselves.

Half of these programs are in rural areas and nearly half are in small towns, with clusters around Flowood and Jackson. Use the filters to narrow by level of care, payment, language and the people a program serves. Then call intake staff and ask how they work with your court.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about Court Ordered Rehab

Answered from what is listed here.

Where are court ordered rehabs in Mississippi?

Court ordered rehab listings in Mississippi cluster in Flowood, followed by Jackson, Columbus, Meridian and Houston. Those five places are where programs working with court referrals gather across the state.

Jackson, Hattiesburg and Tupelo are the larger nearby cities for anyone traveling in from farther away. Someone under a court order should confirm with the court or probation officer which programs are acceptable before enrolling anywhere.

Rehab Centers in Flowoodhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/mississippi/flowood/
Can I use Mississippi Medicaid for court ordered rehab?

Ask the program first whether it bills Mississippi Medicaid, since most of the court ordered rehab programs in Mississippi record accepting it. Coverage can run through a MississippiCAN plan such as Magnolia Health, Molina Healthcare or TrueCare, and a chart revised September 25, 2025 shows behavioral health services covered under these plans.

Rehab Centers in Mississippi That Accept Mississippi Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/mississippi/mississippi-medicaid/
Are there court ordered rehabs near a river in Mississippi?

The most-named river near court ordered rehab programs in Mississippi is Browns Old River, followed by Old River Run and the Buttahatchee River. Most of the court ordered rehab programs in Mississippi sit within 25 miles of a river, a median of about 13.9 miles from listed facilities.

Court requirements matter more than a nearby river, so anyone under an order should confirm a program meets them before weighing surroundings or distance from home.

How does a court order someone into treatment in Mississippi?

Mississippi courts can require treatment through a criminal case, a DUI conviction, an intervention court docket or a separate civil commitment case. In a criminal case, a sentencing judge may make treatment a condition of probation, or a prosecutor may build it into a pretrial diversion deal.

Intervention courts are Mississippi’s name for treatment-focused dockets, and the Administrative Office of Courts certifies each one under rules from the State Drug Court Advisory Board. Each court decides its own eligibility, how long participation lasts and what counts as completion, so the defense attorney or the court coordinator is the person to ask.

After a first-offense DUI conviction, the state requires the Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program, and a diagnostic evaluation at a program on the Department of Mental Health’s list decides whether further treatment is needed. Civil commitment is a different path entirely, governed by Chapters 31 and 32 of Title 41 in the state code instead of the criminal courts.

Whoever supervises the order, whether the judge, the intervention court team or a probation officer, decides which programs satisfy it, so check before enrolling. Federal privacy rules for addiction treatment records mean a program needs your signed consent before it can report attendance or progress to the court.

Criminal cases, DUI and intervention courts

A sentencing judge can make treatment a condition of probation, and a prosecutor may offer it as part of pretrial diversion. Mississippi calls its treatment-focused dockets intervention courts. The Administrative Office of Courts certifies every intervention court program and requires each one to follow rules set by the State Drug Court Advisory Board. That framework comes from Senate Bill 2605, in effect since July 1, 2003. Each court sets its own eligibility, length and meaning of completion, so ask the defense attorney or the court coordinator.

A first-offense DUI conviction in Mississippi requires the Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program, known as MASEP. A DUI diagnostic assessment at a program listed by the Department of Mental Health decides whether more treatment is needed. Options are listed under DUI and DWI programs in Mississippi.

Civil commitment is a separate route

Civil commitment for alcohol or drug use falls under Title 41, Chapters 31 and 32 of the Mississippi Code, not the criminal courts. Chapter 31 covers commitment for treatment in general, and Chapter 32 covers commitment to private treatment facilities.

Will a Mississippi court accept any licensed treatment program?

Not always. The judge, the intervention court team or the supervising officer decides which programs meet the order, so ask them before you enroll. The Mississippi Department of Mental Health oversees and funds public treatment through its Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Services. Its Division of Certification certifies providers under the DMH Operational Standards. DMH also publishes an Alcohol and Drug Services Resource Directory, which you can compare against the program the court expects. RehabSeekers.com cannot tell you whether a court will accept a particular program.

Reporting is the next question to raise with the admissions team. Federal confidentiality rules for addiction treatment records, known as 42 CFR Part 2, mean a program cannot share your attendance or progress with a judge, probation officer or court team unless you sign written consent. Ask intake staff whether they report to courts, how often they do it and what the consent form covers.

What levels of care can a Mississippi court require?

A court order usually calls for an assessment first, then names a level of care and sometimes a minimum length. The assessing clinician recommends the level. The order or the supervising officer may set how long you must attend.

Level of careWhat it involves
DetoxSupervised withdrawal. Withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines or opioids can be medically serious, so medical oversight matters.
ResidentialLive-in care, often named when outpatient care is not enough
PHPTreatment for most of the day, with nights at home
IOPSeveral sessions a week, scheduled around work or school
OutpatientRegular counseling, often after a higher level of care

Medication for opioid use disorder

Medication for opioid use disorder is offered at Mississippi opioid treatment programs, which the DMH alcohol and drug bureau regulates under Miss. Admin. Code 24-2-53.1. Ask the intervention court team how its rules treat prescribed medication. Listings for methadone clinics in Mississippi show where the medication is available.

How do you pay for court-ordered treatment in Mississippi?

Court-ordered treatment in Mississippi can be paid for through Medicaid, state-funded slots, sliding-scale fees or private insurance, depending on the program. Mississippi Medicaid is run by the Division of Medicaid, and most members are enrolled in MississippiCAN. The MississippiCAN plans are Magnolia Health, Molina Healthcare and TrueCare, and the 2025 plan chart shows behavioral health services as covered. Mississippi has not adopted the adult Medicaid expansion, so adult eligibility is narrower than in expansion states. More on coverage is under Medicaid rehab coverage.

The Department of Mental Health administers federal block grant funds that help pay for state-funded rehab in Mississippi at certified programs. Pregnant women receive preference at all DMH-certified programs. Programs that list sliding-scale fees set cost by income. Whether the court or the person pays depends on the case, so ask the court or your attorney.

What happens if you miss sessions on a Mississippi treatment order?

The judge decides what follows a missed session, and the response varies with the case, the court and the terms of the order. Your attorney or supervising officer can tell you what applies to you.

The DMH Helpline, 1-877-210-8513, is staffed around the clock. You can call or text 988 in a crisis, and the national treatment referral line can point you to services.
