Cocaine Rehab Centers in Kentucky

Cocaine rehab in Kentucky usually means outpatient or intensive outpatient counseling, with partial hospitalization and residential programs for people who need more structure. Listings here draw on government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and details supplied by the providers themselves, and show which programs name cocaine or stimulant use among the conditions they treat.

Programs offering cocaine treatment are spread across Kentucky. Forty-two percent sit in urban areas, 33 percent in towns and 22 percent in rural areas, with Nicholasville, Elizabethtown and Louisville appearing most often. Kentucky Medicaid, private insurance and state-funded slots can all help pay for care.

Common questions about Cocaine Rehab

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Kentucky cities have cocaine rehabs?

Nicholasville comes first among the places where Kentucky cocaine rehab listings cluster, followed by Elizabethtown, Louisville, Henderson and Versailles. Programs for cocaine addiction gather in those communities, so a search for nearby treatment often begins with one of them or a town close by.

Larger cities near those clusters include Lexington, Elizabethtown and Louisville, where someone can compare programs side by side and ask intake staff about open spaces.

Cocaine Rehab Centers in Louisvillehttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/kentucky/louisville-ky/cocaine-rehab-louisville/
Can I use Kentucky Medicaid for cocaine rehab?

Kentucky Medicaid is accepted by nearly all of the cocaine rehabs in Kentucky. Coverage runs through whichever plan a member is enrolled in, including Humana Healthy Horizons in Kentucky, Passport Health Plan by Molina Healthcare or WellCare of Kentucky, so naming that plan when calling admissions speeds up checking eligibility.

Rehab Centers in Kentucky That Accept Kentucky Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/kentucky/kentucky-medicaid/
Are there cocaine rehabs near a river in Kentucky?

Nearly all of the cocaine rehabs in Kentucky sit within 25 miles of a river, at a median of about 9.3 miles from the nearest one. Each figure starts at a listed cocaine program.

The most-named rivers near these programs are the Dix River, the North Fork Nolin River and the Salt River. Anyone who wants water nearby can ask a provider which river is closest and how far it sits from the grounds.

What does treatment for cocaine use look like in Kentucky?

In Kentucky, cocaine treatment begins with an assessment and then moves into counseling-based care at whatever intensity that assessment points to. Intake staff ask about cocaine and other drug use, physical and mental health, housing, work and family, and the answers shape the recommended starting level of care.

Behavioral approaches commonly used for stimulant use disorder include contingency management, which offers small rewards for negative drug tests, along with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and family and group work. Many Kentucky programs also connect people with mutual-help groups such as Cocaine Anonymous or SMART Recovery, and programs combine these approaches in different ways.

People with depression or anxiety alongside cocaine use may want to look at dual diagnosis programs in Kentucky. No medication has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for cocaine use disorder, but a prescriber can still treat co-occurring problems such as low mood or poor sleep.

Kentucky Medicaid pays for outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential addiction care through five managed care plans, and private plans fall under federal parity rules. Uninsured Kentuckians can ask whether a program has funded slots backed by the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, or call Find Help Now Kentucky at 800-854-6813 for openings.

Which level of care fits, and who decides?

A clinician sets the level of care, usually using the ASAM criteria. The ASAM criteria are a national framework that weighs withdrawal risk, medical and mental health needs, readiness to change, and the home environment. Many people start in outpatient care, and a Kentucky treatment plan can move up or down as needs change.

Level of careWhat it involvesKentucky Medicaid daily rate
OutpatientCounseling once or twice a week, around work or schoolPaid per service
Intensive outpatientSeveral hours of group and individual therapy, a few days a week$135.72
Partial hospitalizationTreatment for most of the day, several days a week, home at nightNot among the rates cited here
ResidentialLive-in care with daily therapy$271.44 to $320.30; $408.24 at ASAM level 3.7

The rates in the right-hand column come from Kentucky Medicaid’s behavioral health fee schedule, effective April 1, 2026. These amounts are what Medicaid pays providers. They are not a bill to the patient.

Is there medication for cocaine use disorder, and is withdrawal dangerous?

No medication is approved by the FDA to treat cocaine use disorder. A prescriber may still treat co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety or sleep problems, and those decisions sit with the prescriber.

Cocaine withdrawal mainly brings low mood, fatigue, poor sleep and cravings. It usually does not carry the medical dangers of alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal. Depressed mood during withdrawal can still be serious. Anyone having thoughts of suicide can call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Chest pain, seizures or trouble breathing need a 911 call. Some people use a Kentucky detox program for monitored support in the first days.

Fentanyl, naloxone and overdose help in Kentucky

Fentanyl has been found in the stimulant supply, so cocaine can carry opioid overdose risk even for people who don’t use opioids. In Kentucky, pharmacists with Board of Pharmacy certification can dispense naloxone under a physician-approved protocol, and harm reduction programs train members of the public to use it. The Office of Drug Control Policy’s Stop Overdoses page lists naloxone and syringe exchange sites, including the Find Naloxone Now Kentucky locator. Kentucky also has a Good Samaritan law, KRS 218A.133. It protects a person who seeks medical help for an overdose in good faith from possession charges.

How do I pay for cocaine treatment in Kentucky?

Kentucky Medicaid pays for substance use disorder treatment, including outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential care. The program is run by the Department for Medicaid Services, and because Kentucky expanded Medicaid, many adults on low incomes qualify. Members get behavioral health care through one of five managed care plans: Aetna Better Health of Kentucky, Humana Healthy Horizons in Kentucky, Passport Health Plan by Molina Healthcare, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and WellCare of Kentucky. Anthem stopped being a Kentucky Medicaid plan on January 1, 2025.

Private health plans must follow federal parity rules, which bar them from placing stricter limits on addiction care than on comparable medical care. People without coverage can ask programs about funded slots. The Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities oversees state and federal money for community providers, and the state-funded rehab in Kentucky page lists programs that accept it. Kentucky law also gives people with HIV, hepatitis B or hepatitis C priority access to licensed treatment.

How do I find a Kentucky program that treats stimulant use?

The most direct way to find out is to ask intake staff whether the program runs counseling for stimulant use, such as contingency management. Some listings name cocaine only as a detox option. To look up a program’s license, start with Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Its Office of Inspector General licenses nonhospital alcohol and other drug treatment programs, known as AODE licenses, under 908 KAR 1:370. Ask the admissions team for the license number and look it up with the cabinet.

Each Kentucky listing on this page shows levels of care, payment types and insurers, accreditation, languages, populations served and location.
