Treated like children; bedding sucks; would not get my toiletries and had to use their own; rude nurse; no coffee
It was a great experience of what I have done.
They have helped me through multiple issues. Their psych, rehab & IOP are top notch
After waiting for 3 days in a hospital ER for an inpatient bed to open someplace, we chose Vantage Point for my son's inpatient therapy. The website said they treat anxiety, depression AND suicide ideation. Exactly what… he needed, asap. However, after spending less than 24 hours there, it was clear that they were going to do NOTHING to address my son's immediate crisis. When he arrived on a Thursday, not one person talked with my son about why he was there or what led him that that point. About 24 hour after arriving a psychiatrist told my son, flat out, that they would not be offering him any individual therapy, they only group therapy, and that he was sorry but the facility, unfortunately, doesn't help in that way. He was given a prescription and sent on his way. That was it for the "help". People go there (or are sent there) in crisis mode hoping to talk through their serious issues and NO ONE talks to them personally?? His first two "group therapy sessions" consisted of doing a coloring sheet and a word search. How can coloring a picture, that looks like one a first grader would be given, help someone who has contemplated taking their own life just a few days prior? The other "therapy" times consisted of shooting baskets in a gym. He could have done that at a YMCA. They advertise this hospital as a place that helps people 24/7. What a joke. When my son decided he wanted to leave, he was told he could not sign himself out, even though he signed himself in. Next we were told that on Sat. my son would receive a 2nd eval. from a different doctor for a second opinion, to see if he really did need to be held for 72 hours, against his will. That doctor was extremely unprofessional. He caught my son IN THE HALLWAY and proceeded to tell him that he WOULD be staying the full 72 hours and that he probably has a personality disorder. What??? He had never even seen my son, let alone talked with him. He asked NO questions AND did this in the hallway WITH people all around. What happened to privacy laws??? And as if that wasn't bad enough, when my son asked what he meant by that statement, the doctor then proceeded to read the AI version of what a personality disorder is off of his phone, as thought he were a complete idiot. Vantage Point is no where near a 24/7 "care" facility. In his experience it was 1/24 hour care, if that. On the weekdays that he was there, even WITH doctors present, he got 0/24 hours of mental help. But fortunately, a real therapist came in for one hour on Saturday and for one hour on Sunday and offered the group actual meaningful help. My son said she was wonderful, and gave them counsel that truly meant something. Had it not been for that one lady, who gave my son a TOTAL of 2 hours worth of what he desperately needed, Vantage Point did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help him. TWO hours of help in the almost 96 hours that he was there. So would I recommend Vantage Care to anyone? Absolutely NOT. I would not recommend this hospital for ANYONE needing mental health care, ESPECIALLY someone in crisis. If they offered a partial star rating, rather than 1- 5 full stars, I would have rated it less than even a half star.
Expensive program that does not work...My brother was sent here for 8 weeks and as soon as he was released the stuff had not changed...
Honestly, I made some stupid decisions while at Vantage Point. Staff were very unaware. I was there June of 2025 and got away with so much in only 1 week. Personally, certain staff that I will not name were straight up… lying to kids and guilt tripping them from my prospective. This place wasneither helpful or harmful, it depended on who the staff were in my opinion.
When I first got to vantage point I was Freaking out because I was scared that vantage point would be like any other facility. But I had kind gentle staff who calmed me down and I realized that vantage point was not… going to be like any other facility. I wanted to say that vantage point is the best place to go for help. I wanted to give a shout out to the staff who helped me the most so if you are the owner of Vantage point please tell these staff I said this and show them the picture of me. First I wanted to say that you to Mrs. Jamie because even in hard times she was always there for me thank you Mrs. Jamie. Next I wanted to say thank you to Mrs. Juniper because she is kind and if you have anything you need to talk about she alway Makes time. Third I wanted to thank Mr. Camden because when I was sad or upset he would always find a way to make me smile. Last but not least I wanted to say thank you to Mrs. Darlene Because she was always willing to make time for me even if she was busy. - Faith
This place is terrible. Never recommend this place to anyone
My wife got good help here, and she says the food is great! Never believe you’re less than for needing help! We appreciate all vantage has done for us and the community. Stay strong
Vantage Point is a wonderful option for those wanting to have safety, kindness, and good food as part of an inpatient program. Never feel embarrassed for getting help that isn’t outpatient!
Great rehabilitation care and great staff. They genuinely care for you, and they even went above and beyond by helping me cover the costs of my prescriptions and getting a ride home. Highly recommend this center!
At this point they should just hire me I do just as much help as some of them...so no five stars. You need more therapists, yours are tired from doing 4 peoples jobs. But doctor Rahim and the amazing techs make it… 1000000% better since COVID days. I give it 4 because they are trying hard to improve, they just need more staff. And donations of cigarettes, food, and activities approved by the amazing therapists
100/10 do NOT recommend taking your loved one here.. they will medicate them to the point they have no idea what is going on. To the point they lose control of their body and can't even make decisions for themselves and… send them home as "doing good " even though yoh question why they are so lethargic. They seem very uncovered by the fact that our loved one was not the same person we dropped off... fully aware and able to make decisions. They came out worse than when they went in. Then when contacting the "patient advocate" they told us that they would work hard to get to the bottom of it only to be sent a letter stating how right they did everything. I'm sure the patient advocate got paid good for that letter because a patient advocate is just that... an advocate for the patient. In this situation they are all about the facility and its providers. Don't waste your time.on this place. They are under the same umbrella as Valley in Fort Smith and I would have never put my loved one there had I known that! I wish we would have never taken our loved one there as now they have to have 24/7 care where they didn't before.
I was admitted in spring of this year of 2025 and it was the best thing I could of done. Thank you so much because I have been sober off alcohol since. You all saved my life and helped me so much in inpatient and… outpatient. Angel souls and I appreciate you all. ❤️❤️❤️ Update: Hi, I am happy to say that it's coming up on nearly a year since I was last admitted to inpatient. I have been sober from alcohol and cigarettes plus hard things almost a year. Reading and exercise has helped a lot. Thank you all for your hard work and care. I will try to give updates when I can. Mucho love and respect from Benjamin Dean Wilks.
I am writing this to formally warn others, particularly those with "invisible" disabilities or chronic illnesses, about the severe medical neglect and lack of professional standards at this facility. I was admitted for… support following a family death and a period of depression stemming from lifelong chronic pain. Rather than receiving a therapeutic environment, I was subjected to conditions that were medically regressive and life-threatening, I even verbally expressed to them, "I am declining here, what am I doing here?" Clinical Negligence and Medication Withholding Despite my primary needs being medical, I did not see a physician until the third day of my stay. This resulted in a dangerous 3.5-day withholding of my essential medications for POTS, gastroparesis, and a thyroid condition. My partner hand-delivered my prescription bottles to the facility on the second morning, yet the staff refused to administer them, citing a manual pharmacy verification process that took days to complete. This delay caused a total physiological collapse: I suffered six fainting episodes—two of which occurred at the nurses' station—and began vomiting due to untreated gastroparesis. Dismissive Care and Privacy Violations The staff’s response to my symptoms was clinically negligent. My fainting episodes were dismissed as "eyelash fluttering." Furthermore, after a superficial apology for that comment, a nurse proceeded to discuss my private medical details and POTS diagnosis loudly at the nurses' station in full earshot of other patients. This facility operates with a complete disregard for HIPAA and patient confidentiality. Substandard Living Conditions The patient quarters, which are kept out of public view, are in a state of disrepair with visible hole patches in the walls. I was kept in a room where temperatures dropped to 58–60°F. Due to a broken intake process, I was denied access to my own winter clothing for several days. My partner delivered my clothes in the morning, yet I received only half that evening, and the remainder was withheld for three additional days. For a patient with dysautonomia, temperature regulation is a critical medical necessity. The leadership at this facility lacks a basic understanding of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Because my physical hurdles are not immediately visible, they were treated as non-existent. Ultimately, I was forced to leave Against Medical Advice (AMA) as soon as I was able, simply to ensure my own physical safety. While there is much more that could be said regarding the legal and ethical failures of this stay, this summary serves as a warning to anyone with complex medical needs.
I stayed there in 2019 and it was a terrible experience that I will never forget. My son is having issues and I need to make a decision where to take him and not only does Vantage point look bad but so do Springwood and… Northwest inpatient in Springdale. I am asking myself is it better to have him go through this with autism and developmental disabilities or to keep him here and go outpatient. What has mental health became?
Our teen has been in multiple facilities, and Vantage Point is by far the best. You have likely noticed there are many negative reviews of all mental health facilities, which can be so terrifying. I wanted to take the… time to express my gratitude for the care my teen has received during the stay here at Vantage Point. All staff are communicative and responsive. I have no problems calling to check on my child any time I want. They’re not pushing tons of meds and are truly trying to make the best decisions for our kiddo. We are willing to drive over 3 hours to have our child remain at Vantage Point. The sacrifice of travel is well worth the care our child is receiving, and we are truly appreciative. If you’re considering Vantage Point, we highly recommend this facility.
Horrible. They set me on a pill that made me gain over 50 pounds and I wasn’t told. And they KNEW I was struggling with my weight and mental health. The therapists there do not care for most of the kids. I had 4 staff… members quit in a few days of each other when I was there in April and may. The kids kept kissing and making out and sneaking into each others rooms and taking showers together. One of the nurse ladies was rude and demanding. Too much drama on the unit as well. One of the girls made a game of me crying and saying how long I’ll last until I start having another crying fit. The first time I stayed the girls kept talking about me and my joker smile that I had carved onto my cheeks. And I had a roommate switch because she was “scared of me”. Edit: One of the therapist, Katie, was so certain she would “figure out how I worked” I told her she absolutely wouldn’t. She also would tell the other kids on what I thought of them. She was not professional at all, and tried to make me “the bad guy” and my parents the “victims” when it was the other way around. The last stay I was there for self defense against my father, and my so called mother put me there for two months. She did not help, she made things a whole lot worse. They do NOT listen to the kids, only the parents. One of the staff, Gary, always seemed weird and I was very uncomfortable with him around.
It’s been almost 5 years since I stepped into that disgusting facility. I was 11 and admitted because of suicidal ideation and self harm. I’ve now been able to get help but some nights I wake up from nightmares of what… happened in there. I was originally put on the CHIP unit or the kid unit. A young kid who had been there for months told me I was going to be there for a long time so as one does I got freaked out so they decided I’d go on the teen unit during the day and sleep on CHIP. The teens on the unit were great and never did anything to deserve what they got. In my total of 5 days I witnessed over 8 restraints and “booty juice” shots. These were over wanting to watch tv, crying, asking to go home, refusing meds and so much more. Please don’t send you or your loved ones here especially if they are under 18 because they treat the kids a lot worse then the adults.
Our family member has had substance abuse issues for years and has gone through a few programs. The program at Vantage Point is by far the the best we've seen.
A disgusting facility disguised as comfort and safety. I will literally never be able to scrub out of my mind the fear and hopelessness I experienced my time here. You aren't treated as a person who deserves love and… help. You are treated like a violent criminal. A suffocating oppressive environment that forces you to hide your tears and panic attacks because the fear of being held there longer overshadows the fact you went there for HELP. They gave you around 2 water breaks a day, only in small styrofoam cups you weren't able to keep. I resorted to sneaking cups into my room to drink from my bathroom faucet at night. The place was constantly filthy. Walking across the hallway once would leave my socks covered in grime, it's been 3 months and I still haven't been able to wash it off. Bathroom breaks were also limited to 2-3 times a day. If you needed space or quiet, you were sent to a small freezing cold concrete room, covered in debris with one uncomfortable plastic chair to sit on. During my entire time there I got to meet with a therapist to have a 1 on 1 session once, and it lasted only 7 minutes before I was dismissed. Your entire time here will consist of sitting in a small filthy "Day Room" for hours on end doing absolutely nothing and being backtalked and belittled by nurses who sit on their phones their entire shift.
I was forced into here by my school 2019 and I remember the way it went is that I learned a poker face and maliciously lied my way out of here, and when I refused to cooperate I was punished with the inability to… socialize until i gave up, I have specific memories of sitting in a small room with a worker in another room with a peice of glass seperating us and she would wait for me to give in, I feel like this place worsened my mental state than and I instead learned to lie in order to tell the people what they wanted so I would leave early. I came here supposed to heal my mental state, left being able to mask feeling.
Reminded me of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Drug you up!
